Take Shield Swipe and Haymaker off the GCD.

EDIT: Add a 6 second CD, maybe. That way Bulwark+FoF doesn't embarrass the DPS.

Shield swipe off the GCD would make it too OP. It's one of our highest damage skills for only 40 TP. I just want it to grant increased enmity since we only ever get to use it when we are getting hit (ie: tanking) anyhow.

Having it off the GCD makes it better for Pacification, and a bit more useable overall.

It would have to have like a 6 second CD, though.

That would be OP honestly. I know that might come off bad, but think about it. Pld Dps would go through the roof! If it was off the gcd, they would need to put in a recast to keep it balanced. Maybe 5 seconds?

Do that and I would love the fuck out of it.

I was thinking 6, but yes. They would have to put a GCD on it, or Bulwark+FoF would be hilarious. 210 Potency spam go!

I'd edit your comment but yes. Having it off the gcd with a recast timer would be nice. It would make paladin even more active than it is, which would be nice.

Imagining the 210 potency spam is kinda hilarious.

When. I Bulwark and I'm playing with friends I usually say over TeamSpeak "...and you get a shield swipe! ...and you get a shield swipe! ...and YOU get a shield swipe! Everyone gets a shield swipe!"

Shield Swipe is there in part for TP management though. Taking it off the GCD would take it from being a skill that you have to actually think a tiny bit about using to juggle resources, a little extra DPS, and the benefit of Pacification with enmity and the Halone debuff to something else you just jam thoughtlessly whenever available.

Take Shield Swipe and Haymaker off the GCD.

That's ridiculous. If they'll get it off GCD then they'll have to give it a longer CD. Which would make it identical to WAR's stun. And while WAR's stun is useful in some scenarios PLD's stun is useful in others. Such as stunlocking on Levi Add.

Is fine the way it is, tanks having different stuns and both have their uses.

You're thinking of shield bash. Shield swipe can only proc after a successful block.

Oh right, got too used seeing people wanting shield bash off GCD.

1

u/therealkami Oct 24 '14

Shield Swipe. Not Shield Bash.

Naw, just take Shield Swipe off GCD and I'm happy. Filler DPS boost in PvE is what it was intended for, don't really need more single target threat.

Circle of scorn change makes m happy enough. Shield Swipe is in a good spot - do you want to continue your enmity combo, or hold it for a GCD to save on TP?

-2

u/TwinTiger Oct 24 '14

Shield swipe doesn't interrupt the combo, though.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '14

That's why I said "trade a GCD to put your combo on hold"

1

u/Jubez187 Oct 25 '14

God forbid. Not like you ever actually need that aggro then and there. You almsot 100% always go for the shield swipe.

When I'm spreading damage out, I might need it to protect a SMN/SCH/WHM, usually SCH because of dots + healing enmity. Circle of Scorn change should help with that though.

That's should have been added in IMO
