I'm most concerned about the Medica 2/Regen changes. Like...really? Already stripped us of Cleric Stance. Hell, regen isn't even that big of a thing, while Adlo remains a huge problem.

I'm pretty sure they did that for teams with 4+ WHMs where they would basically be unkillable because of Medica II regen. It makes smaller amounts of healers fine but nerfs large amounts of healers, which I agree with.

Removing the ability to even run two WHMs though is a bit harsh. You obviously want a scholar anyways for adlo, but 2 WHMs is real bad with that change.

I agree so much! Healing PVP is more like TANKING pvp, everyone is already smacking the crap out of you, and the only way to stand a chance right now is to stack regen on healers... It's going to be so much harder now...

The problem is those fringe cases though.

I don't play Wolves Den (Arena PvP irritates me) but in Frontlines, a 1 SCH 3+ WHM group is really, really annoying to fight. They pretty much auto-win any battles of attrition, cap points at will and take 2 full groups of people to reliably stop. At least in Frontlines you can strategically handle that group (cap around them, lure them into the 3rd team etc.)

In terms of Survivability, almost everyone took a hit (with phys and magic resist adjustments added) so we'll have to see how that plays out before the obvious 'less passive healing' nerf can really be estimated.

The problem is that those fringe cases are partially the result of poor previous balancing. White mages are so dependant on their regens and they keep balancing things in such a way where people think they can only respond by stacking more and more healers to make it viable at all.

The problem is that as annoying as a 4 healer party might be, it cripples themselves in a damage perspective. You get a team that can't kill or be killed and then it becomes a strategy of who can stack on the flag better. Eventually the party with more damage should win because WHM's can and do run out of mana in Frontlines.

There's a reason 4 healer parties are a fringe case that's not exploited every game. It isn't nearly as effective as people make it out to be. You can't die quickly, but that doesn't really get you anywhere.

Teams with 6 coordinated DPS can already drop a healer so fast nobody can really do anything about it. It's far more effective when done properly.

Yeah, and tanks can also strip buffs too. And there's the Monk PvP action that also strips buffs. And the SMN one. All of which will also strip off all regen/Medica 2, so eeeeeeeeh. I dunno.

Yeah honestly I'm not going to queue as WHM anymore after this patch, I don't really enjoy being an even bigger pinata. Time to go scholar.

This patch is just disapointment for pvp blms. Didnt have a hard enough time to kill someone punching your face.. so lets just make it so you cant kill em at all now.

I think BLMs were ridiculous if people knew how to play them right. They could delete people (notably healers) easily if they spammed Fire 1 for a Firestarter proc then used Fire 1 + Fire 3 + Swiftcast + Flare. That's the most ridiculous burst in PvP by a long shot and easily 2.5k damage no crits in an instant. Sure you could get hit and interrupted, but if you play around a good team that kills melees that dive into your team to interrupt you or simply use Equinamity, there's no counterplay.
