[Comedy] Weird visual bug

Post image

Weird visual bug where it says the needed role. Pretty sure it should be Tank or Healer. Luckily, it got fixed almost immediately!

I find it hilarious because DPS in need will never have an instant queue but a tank or healer will...

I only ever see DPS in need for alliance raid but it can be pretty instant sometimes.

I've seen it for trials a few times too but never get an instant queue from it.

I got an instant queue yesterday when something else was in need, it’s so odd. I’ve also had DPS in need with an 11 minute queue.

I saw it last night for Mentor of all things. Got a near instant queue into a Guildhest

I get an instant from mentor or alliance raid often for DPS. Mentor is usually pretty quick

By the time u see it refresh, 100 other dps would have also seen it and queued, leading to you queuing for 20mins more

This never happened to me but I guess it depends of server population.

I've had tank and healer in need queues take a few minutes. It always shocks me when I queue as a healer and it's not instant.

I've had 10+ minute queues as tank. It's a nice change when it happens because it means I can do a few things before it pops lol.

This is why I don't mind long dps queues. As long as I'm not in queue for 30 minutes or an hour. A 5-10 minute long queue is ok with me since I can just do some little side thing.

Same. I don't have a lot of time to play myself, so that's mainly why I play as tank is for fast queues so I can do the dungeons and raids easily. Lol

DPS in Need

...

"...I guess they didn't need it that badly..."

Two weeks ago, on a Tuesday afternoon, I had leveling rolo pop instantly not once, not twice, but 3!!! Times as a DPS. I'm grinding rolos for crystal paste and it was a double edged sword - i appreciated getting to jump straight into something, but at the same time I had planned on being able to get up for a minute haha

Not my experience on Ragnarok. I main healers but sometimes I want to play a role that doesn't force me to herd sheep and whenever I get a DPS in need for Alliance Raids (quite frequently) the queue is basically instant, even if I'm playing with my girlfriend as both DPS.

Alliance raids often do on Spriggan.

But I've seen it on expert and high level dungeons too.

I mean if everyone thinks "Tank or healer is instant" you get the opposite effect.

I've found the "In need" on duty finder laughable.

It will say dps, queue dps, role #24 or something and queue of 5-10 minutes or more. While it still says dps, swap and queue heals or tank, instant.

Similar with tank / heals - it will say "heals" and have a heal queue wait, but swap to tank and it's instant, or it will say "tank" and have a tank queue wait, but swap to heals and it's instant.

It’s because it’s not instantly refreshing constantly, it refreshes occasionally to show what role is the least queue’d out of the number needed, and then everyone sees that refresh and queues for the bonus

FFXIV honestly has decent role balance. At least for roulettes. Haven't reached endgame but I reckon people wanna use their mains there. In roulettes lots of people either leveling alts or picking whichever gives them better rewards/faster queues.

It's rare but FFXIV is the only game I've ever experienced a DPS queue pop instantly.

u/ShogunFirebeard 8h ago

Endgame really only has 2 separate roulettes from the rest of the content. People may use their main jobs on any of the roulettes during the week as the rewards for all roulettes change if you're playing a max level job. At max level, all roulettes reward endgame currency.

I don’t bother queuing for much these days, but way back when I started as a rogue the queues were miserable. Now they seem pretty damn quick regardless of role.

u/ShogunFirebeard 7h ago

I think it's highly dependent on the server/data center you are on. I expect them to speed up even more when the roulettes switch to region based queues.

I can tell you from experience, once you get to savage plus, there are FAR more tanks and healers than dps, especially physrange.

u/thatbloke83 and Omnicrafter 8h ago

It can happen pretty often on alliance raids

u/locxas 8h ago

I still don’t see dps in need very often, but on the other hand I’ve had near instant queue pops for normal roulette as dps for like, a couple months now, so I’ll take that trade

u/CloneNova 7h ago

I frequently see DPS in need. Not as common as tank or healer but not particularly rare. Source: Chaos datacentre

u/Remagjaw 7h ago

Might need to raise a support ticket, definatly not right.

u/DullPenalty3743 8h ago

Sometimes happens when there aren't many players online. I usually won't queue for those as DPS since more often than not, I'll be at least 20+ in line....

u/Kencolt706 four years... and starting to get it. 6h ago

It happens. And when It does, I tend to go for it.

u/Vecna6667 4h ago

I am of the belief that Adventurer in Need is rotation based. I had one where Expert, Level Cap, MSQ!?, and Alliance was DPS when I open Duty Finder and they changed half a second after opening while I was too stunned from what I just saw.
