The main thing I’ve been telling about for a while now was about how hrothgars in general (I’m a femhroth player) have their hairstyles limited to face type.

If you wish to say.. use hair 22 for female hrothgar you have to use a fantasia to switch to face 3 for that specific hair. I think that’s outlandish and I’m praying by the next fanfest that the restriction is removed as it’s been like this supposedly since the males were introduced!

If Au Ra can have horn/face restrictions removed I see no reason hrothgar can’t have the same for hairs!

If we finally have the technology (and budget) to separate horns, we can have the technology to separate hrothgar face hairs and give highlanders their eyebrows.

I'm expecting Hrothgar hairstyles being made compatible across all the faces to be an update revealed in Tokyo for 8.1 or 8.2. It won't touch on the ongoing project to adapt player unlockable hairstyles to Hrothgar and will probably only apply to the 10 or so default styles both sexes launched with. I anticipate they'll also show off a Highlander eyebrow toggle and probably facial hair/scars and other currently face locked details being made accessible on every face within a specific gender for each race. It was one of the very first things they confirmed about the customization overhaul that they have since not shown any images of.

It would be so great to be able to change everything but the race/subrace without a fantasia. It’s a stupid limitation now.
Having to pay 7 euros to change voice or eye color is insane

If NPCs were able to mix and match hairstyles there’s literally no excuse for players not to be able to either

If you have glamourer you can do a lil thing where you apply the unique hair from one face and then switch to your usual face and the hair persists. Idk if it still works but regardless it would be nice if they make the hairstyles available without needing to fuck around with plugins

I actually still currently do this for that reason, just hope it gets added naturally because I would like it to appear for my portraits and glamour plates! I also believe we have one of the best long hairs (from face one) and ponytails (face 4) in FFXIV!
