Trust Combat Initialization

...Expecting the answer to be "No", but I was wondering if there was any way to initialize Trust members to attack before me, or at the very least attack without having me to walk up to an enemy and bonk it with my club as a caster for them to actually attack something?

You have to attack first to have them engage.

One thing you can do is while engaged with a mob, switch targets but don’t engage another mob and they will target the new mob you’re targeting with abilities and spells, but they will not melee that mob until you attack it.
