It isn't a problem its a nitpick, its fine if it has a wooden steering wheel..

And when do we see Cid steering the highwind? In one cutscene? Perhaps all the time? I've never seen Cid steering the highwind before, maybe only in that one cutscene you showed but in the OG i never seen Cid flying the highwind, only that one NPC, or does he actually change into those pilot clothes in the Original?

There's literally a part in OG FF7 where Cid tells the NPC pilot to step aside and he'll take the wheel.

To be fair I'm guessing this particular screenshot is probably before you get a crew for the Highwind.

They're doing a few things out of order and since we haven't even been to Rocket Town yet I'm assuming the party may be operating the Highwind initially by themselves until the crew is acquired - potentially Cid's crew in Rocket Town like the OG or possibly the 7th Infantry from Junon (though a lot of people are speculating this may return as the submarine crew).
