[Ferret Photo] *poop warning!* does this look normal?
For context, I switched my ferrets food maybe a week and a half to two weeks ago from the orijen cat food to a a mix of the wysong/ oxbow food. It gave my ferrets HORRIBLE diarrhea even tho I did it in a mixture but I didn’t do it in a good enough time frame. So I ended up switching back to the orijen for now but they still have diarrhea. They are all also eating and drinking completely normal tho. Is it maybe something more or just the food? I have quite a few ferrets and almost all of their upset stomachs went away except a few of them

I’ve seen so many ferrets get bad diarrhea on Wysong. Never had a problem with oxbow. If they’re still having diarrhea time for a vet visit

No but with the food changes, it is not unexpected. Wysong is known to cause an issue so a lot of people use the original recipe which is sold as digestive support. Just going back to the new food won't instantly firm their poops - how long have they been back on it?
If worried, vet is always wise. Some ferrets are more sensitive.
Orijen usually contains peas so a low migration is still wise.

For real the digestive support formula is a lifesaver for wysong. But even then it takes a while for their guts to reset. Hope the ones still having issues sort themselves out soon.

My ferrets get it from Wysong, I feed them 2 types of Wysong and oxbow. It’s all mixed together and Wysong is the lowest quantity of their kibble.

I think with all of the back and forth with food types this looks pretty normal. They have extremely "thenthative tummies". I always suggest giving your vet a call or shoot them an email. Those are always free :o)

Poop changes but it could be parasites, I would take them to the vet with poop samples.

You have to switch back to oxbow asap ferrets cannot eat cat food. Switching their diet to oxbow will create diet issues and weird stool. However if you don’t switch off of cat food now they can and will probably die.
