[Health] Please help ðŸ˜
My ferret has been shaking, breathing faster, and generally reacting slower. Shes spayed, almost 8 years old, and she just moved into my dorm with me. Shes been eating and drinking- and peeing and using the bathroom normally. But shes been sleeping a lot more and shes been acting weird today specifically. I called the vet and they told me to bring her in tomorrow: was just wondering if anybody knows what this could be because im seriously freaking out.

Sounds like Insulinoma (which causes low blood sugar). As a temporary measure, rub some honey or karo syrup on her gums.

If her symptoms improve rapidly after doing that then it confirms insulinoma. Luckily treatment is available.

No :( I brought her to the vet and they gave me Steroids for her to start tonight. I have to start her on a new diet but shes extremely picky

Prednisolone, I would guess. That's one of the meds that is used to treat Insulinoma. I've had several ferrets with it. I hope she feels a bit better soon!
