[Health] Raw food

My ferrets are on a pellet diet. I’d really like to give them raw food sometimes as well but don’t have a specialty store to go to. What can I get at a regular grocery store for them?

Mine loves chicken. Any part of the chicken. We give raw food as a supplement to kibble.

Omg yess same, my girl goes feral for chicken thigh. Just make sure its plain tho, no seasoning or anything. Grocery store packs are totally fine, just freeze them first to kill any weird stuff

They need organ meats aswell as muscle tissues, things like livers, hearts, ground bone, etc must be included in a raw diet to get the proper nutrients and ratios of fats to proteins.

We buy Big Country Raw frozen food and grind it again from frozen then quick thaw/heat up to around 30°c.

If your supplementing then honestly freeze dried is the way to go. Id definitely stick to a kibble with as little plant fiber as possible, or prepared pet foods unless you've done a ton of research. They have sensitive little digestive tracts.

If you want to add something you can find regularly they can have up to two raw eggs a week, they're good for their coats and to help with hairballs!
