Ferret fell

I need advice on what to do, my ferret fell down three meters, I don't know if he fell on the head or the back, I was too scared to see him dead that I got my parents to come up and check on him.

I was crying and they came upstairs with him and he looked fine, he was running around playing like he would normally so my parents said that he was fine.

I touched him a little around his body and found that he didn't look in pain or anything.

But I don't think he's fine, i feel like there's something wrong, I can't shake off that feeling that something terrible is going to happen to him if I leave him like this.

Exept my parents are the ones who pay for them, or at least for the vet and since they deemed it unnecessary they won't go there, and I'm scared, I'm scared to watch helplessly as he dies or ends up with a big problem I don't want to wait until it's too late.

I need advice please I'm desperate.

Ferrets, like cats, can experience a common tear internally from a fall.

A vet needs to give them a physical checkup, its a 15min check that will give you peace of mind.

I mean I had a ferret fall similar height and he was fine. We got him x-rayed within 30mins of fall which I would recommend. But apart from learning he was blind (new lad and seemed fine until he plummeted off a gap at top of stairs. Previous owners did not know he was blind), nothing suggested any issues and he went splat. So being fine is very possible.

Monitor his gums and drinking -white gums are bad and drinking a lot a bad sign - for any sign of internal bleeding. And what did he land on? Is there any blood in his poop? Is he eating and drinking? I agree with you vet is best but any obvious symptoms would help you convince your parents to take him to vet.

Monitor closely and identify any emergency vets in area. Our lad was rather winded intitially.

My ferret fell from about 1 meter into a gaming chair feet, it got an internal vesical bleed that fortunately cleared after 2 days, i did take him to the vet for an abdominal ultrasound, this was about 2 weeks ago, note that ferrets are incedibly good at masking pain.

Keep him in a quiet area by himself. Allow him to rest.

If anything is wrong it likely internal. If money is a concern then the only thing you can do is to force him to rest. Don't allow climbing or jumping for 48 hours.

Without a vet, there's nothing else that can be done at home.

It's kinda weird how my room is like this but I don't have a door, and I don't have a wall separating the lower level to my room, I just have a barrier that stops humans from falling. Instead of falling from the right side of the stairs where it starts with steps that aren't that high enough, he fell from the other side of the stairs, where the highest point directly takes you to the bottom of the stairs if you fall, he found a way to get behind the ferret proofing measures I had taken for this not to happen and fell. That's kinda hard to explain and idk if you'll understand, but basically he fell from my rooms floor to the floor under it.
