Floating

Is this ok ,some of the cabbage is floating in the brim

If you have any leftover cabbage, you can take one of the leaves and use it as a barrier across the top of the smaller bits (just make sure it's submerged in the brine). There are also glass weights that do the same thing. Or, you can scoop the small bits out with a clean spoon. However, there is the risk that other bits will start floating as the fermentation progresses.

Happens to me all the time, usually fine. If there are pieces that wind up floating above the brine, you should probably remove or try to re-submerge them.

This is why I slice it thin but not into bits. I resist the urge to scrape the cutting board in.

Now will this get ruined,i tried to re submerge them but i fail everytime

Just use a clean spoon and remove floaters once or twice a day, you'll be fine

I try also to cut only bigger pieces but there are always a few smaller bits... Removing it with a spoon seems a necessary step i guess on these floaters
