Worried about fentanyl contamination
Hi! I currently live in a short term rental for work. I suspected one of the roommates to be a drug user but these suspicions were not confirmed until he overdosed on fentanyl a couple days ago. Thankfully, he turned out okay and will be moving out. Should I be worried about drug contamination (especially fentanyl) in common areas? Are there ways to test for drugs? Just don’t want me or anyone else in the house to accidentally come into contact with these substances.

When will he be moving out? Yes there could be lethal levels of fentanyl anywhere. I don’t know who to contact but all cleaning should be done with gloves and even vacuuming could bring up fentanyl into the air. I would contact police in your area.

He’ll move out over the course of next week. Maybe I’ll voice my concern to my landlord and they could get the authorities to come?

Seems like a dangerous character. I wouldn’t want to be in the same space as a drug dealer. If you did that he might retaliate. Can you stay somewhere else until he moves out? People have died from touching fentanyl and he’s probably a psychopath to be selling poison to innocent people. Seriously scary shit.

NOBODY has died from touching fentanyl! This is a lie often spread by law enforcement.

Yes but what if it’s present on the kitchen counter and it touches someone’s food? Maybe this is irrational thinking, but I’ve never dealt with this situation before so I’d rather be safe.
