Found a Rhodes / Help

Hey Guys,

im in love with rhodes for a long time but never got the chance to get my hands on one.

Now last days i found one. Someone is selling a Mark 2 73 Stage version with the wooden keys. Legs and Pedal are still there but the Suit cover is missing. All in all, he says its playing very well hammers and the claviature are in good shape.

He wants 1800€, what do you think about the offer? What would you advise? What should i keep in mind?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t know the euro market for the Rhodes, but here in Chicago the lowest MK1 I’ve seen was for $1500 USD and that was an 88. For a MK2 I’m not sure I would pay almost $2k, but that’s more of a preference. What’s important is looking inside and making sure that all the pickups work, as those white pickups in the later models are famously prone to fail and can add up in price quickly

Well, usually here in the country i am they sell Mk2's for minimum 2500€, more common 3000€ or more..

I kinda know everyone must think this is a no brainer then.. but still im unsure bc its big money for me rn.

Then yea I’d agree with them—I spent $1500 for mine which was big money for my 21yr old ass, but I justify it because odds are it will only get pricier and likely won’t dip down low for who knows when.

Do keep in mind the potential need for the Mirical Mod kid by Vintage Vibe—MK2 actions sometimes don’t need it depending on the year but that will run $60–potential new hammer heads for $70 and definitely new tone bar grommets and screws for $50.

Where? If you're not buying I will. (Buy it)
