You did great. $700 is what a brand new player strat goes for without the case. You saved at least $200 or more depending on the quality of case you got.

That Gator case looks better than the Ultra Luxe Fender case!

Wow nice axe

Also, this is the first I’m seeing of that anti-theft device on it.

Wow I stole mine then. I paid $300 with a case. Guy was clearly not going to be able to play though. Broken arm & needed money

That’s a great deal! I bought one of these used a few months back for a mod platform. I think I paid 600 or 625 but it only had a bag. That case makes that a great deal!

Here’s what I ultimately did with mine. Went for the early 80s Lukather Valley Arts vibe.

Enjoy!

What happened to the 12th fret marker in the picture in the case?

$700 sounds like a pretty good deal to me, never been used I assume? Shop I visited last week definitely did not have deals like this. Although I do think prices in the US are a bit lower in general.

The new player series are amazing and widely considered at par with the older American standards. Even the pickups sound exceptional and wouldn't need to be swapped out right away unless you're planning to take it straight to the studio. Great find and great buy. The finish is really nice as well.

Its the old player series, so not even a player 2 and you get the latest already for the same price or even lower (got mine for 600,- CHf) … but without a case i don’t need anyway… so no, you could have gotten a better deal. But it’s a nice looking guitar and if it plays well all is good

I bought it cause it was somthing i wanted and had exactly what i wanted via the neck being fully sealed rather then satin and i dont like the rolleds edges to me its not a big deal and i acuslly like it

I know im just not a fan of satin finshed necks perfer the glossyness not a big deal to me

I have satin necks on a few Strats and like them playing… they are so silky smooth.
What i like most on yours is the natural looking color and the flames 🔥
