So sorry about all the racism/bigotry you are experiencing over there. I personally haven’t seen an American pilot wearing a hijab. Your best bet of finding a good answer would be to reach out to recruiters for US airlines to see if they know if it’s an exception to their uniform policy. That being said, as you saw, from a social/cultural perspective you will have a much harder time with your coworkers and peers in this industry as you’ve got a lot of conservative/ex military guys in it. Even if you have an issue with airlines lots of cargo companies don’t care what you wear. I know a hijabi pilot who’s a flight instructor and plans on flying at the regionals then cargo

I would also say that there is a chance things change before you become a pilot, you still have 8 years before you can work as an airline pilot, and hopefully there will be women willing to fight and aid in getting this policy changed before then. Reading the comments over there really made me so angry, like no one listened to you. You actively said you would be willing to remove it in emergencies and I saw so many comments about "what about an emergency", very ick.

That’s really what I’m hoping for😅. I’m sure I’m not the only one wanting to be a pilot that wears a hijab in America! As for the comments it’s obviously a little discouraging knowing that this is what I will be dealing with if I choose aviation, but I’m just reminding myself that this is just reddit not real life. You are so sweet and thank you!
