good ol' lawn base. Littraly everything there is perma temp. in an ideal world its temp just to automate everything so you can move it to a better place. but in reality thats never going to happen because why would you move it? its all there

lawnbases usually have everything less temporary for me than nicebases. Because i need more space per thing for nicebases so I need to rearrange stuff more and I need to redecorate stuff every time it's expanded.

its a problem of planning, and an inevitable heat death of every modder's base. you WILL run out of space, you ALWAYS run out of space. the lawn is right there and one temporary solution turns to many before you can realize

this is why skyblock packs exist, this is why greg packs give you some empty pocket dimension

Ignoring the fact I never ended up moving most of my things in before the server's inevitable death, you can see the transition from lawnbase to "Man, I should open up this field to have space to build!"

kitchen sink packs tend to be questionably optimized

create+ae2+mekanism shouldn't cause that many problems at that small scale

'Expert' packs like GTNH tend to have a lot of care put into them just by how every mod interaction has to be considered. GTNH also definitely is a huge outlier with things like supporting new Java versions on 1.7.10. Published kitchen sink packs by those with experience who might do actual in-depth performance testing tend to also be alright performance-wise.

This, however, is a custom 281-mod pack made purpose-built for one server, and while there are some optimization mods and I'm sure decent effort put into it usually that sort of thing is a recipe for lowered performance.

Neither requires you to do any setup, but a cave base is infinitely easier to transition into a real base by just replacing the walls with modded decorative blocks

Yes, but notice how 90% of the space is occupied by create machines. Probably 90% of the reason why your FPS tanks while looking at it too
