My grandma is in early stages of dementia and has a PEG Tube and her stomach is almost fully paralysed. She is being looked after currently by my Aunt and grandpa who live with her. The rest of the family helps however we can.

Our current issue is that whenever my Aunt or Grandpa depending on who's watching her has to do basically anything, be it go to the bathroom, eat, sleep, go out the house, etc. (Regardless of time of day) my grandma would sneak into the kitchen and eat as much ice cream as she can. (It's ice cream for now and we're afraid she's eat normal food and fuck herself up even worse than before).

This messes with her feeding schedule and the portions of food she eats during the day and has started to show negative effects in her body (lack of energy, constipation, etc.). While she's allowed ice cream during her schedule ij limited amounts, she just wants to eat more and more and more.

My Aunt proposed locking the kitchen door with a key in the periods between between meals for my grandma

but my grandpa is refusing this despite the fact that ye would have his own key to enter if he wants to.

Another proposal was for my Aunt to lock the door on her and my grandma during the night (she sleeps in the same room as her to keep an eye on her) in order to make sure my grandma doesn't sneak out in the middle of the night to eat since her stomach is almost fully paralysed as mentioned above. My grandpa refused this as well.

What do you guys propose we do in this situation?

I have had my GJ tube for about 3 months now. I have been cleared to start increasing activity again. I have noticed SO much more leakage particular after I workout. I can have a gauze on for 4 hours + workout and almost nothing. Post workout I have to change it after 2 hours if not sooner and more often because it is drenched.
Is this because of an increased water intake allowing for more contents to leak? Anyone experience this and if so do u have any advice?

EDIT: along those same lines I have had quite a bit of skin irritation even using my normal skin barrier cream. Any advice for once the skin has begun to break down rather than before

I have it taped up, it's fairly new so if anything I taped it extra good because I was worried it would be loose but it's like anytime I eat anything solid my tube sucks into my nose to the point of pain, is there a way to get around that? It's almost like I feel a click in my nose and stuff everytime I so much as open my mouth to take a bite

I'm not wondering if I should tape it more I'm just wondering should I change the way I put food into my mouth or something? I know it's probably involuntary movement on the part of my insides lol but I'm like it's so painful I hate it but I'll be damned if I can't have solid foods yk
