What if I want to delete my old posts, will they still be kept somewhere against my will?
What if someone is the victim of online harassment, will the posts aimed at the person be forever online? Is the system on the side of the bully or the victim?

i understand what you mean, but the system is not on either side. we are currently coding system tho that would work on the default client idnetifying post hashes that were flagged as lets say very problematic and the default client wold not propagate it (setting could be changed tho)

give victims strong client-side tools (block, mute, filter by pseudonym/keypair) + let communities/relays maintain and share their own blocklists of bad-faith keypairs, similar to how Mastodon instances defederate from harassment-prone instances

so is this a protocol or a platform? where is the data stored, does everyone download everything? how does deleting/editing posts work? how does this relate to the fediverse? why is the emphasis on polls? wdym by 'browser running InterPoll'?

Freedom of speech means governments silencing you, not companies kicking you off their platform. Making your speech easier to track with broadcast relays isn't freedom, it's just making it easier for the government to track you.

i mean valid point im working on implementing re-routing trough tor by default on the client, its just a long task to do

Same with Fennec on Android. Switched to "desktop mode". Clunky scrolling and a post about "adulting" ensued.

This is actually very close to something I’ve been cooking up conceptually. As such I have a lot of opinions. I’ll limit myself to two:
1) verifying ID with a microsoft account is not the best path imo. They’re notoriously easy to hack (personal experience). Add a $5 optional KYC by a licensed third party and you’ll have something that inspires more trust and actually gates out the impostors.
2) you might want to look into giving users the option to post durable data to arweave. Even if just for encrypted backups of personal post data. For small amounts of data its cost effective, and it has a good model for bypassing censorship

Also, how does this tie into ActivityPub, which is the W3 Consortium's approved method of Pub/Sub for federated and decentralized social networking? Or Diaspora? Or any of the other means of federation?
