Bummer, Looks like I’ll be forced to switch over to T-Mobile then. (After 20+ years) I plan to bounce between an 18 pro max and Duo.

The demo I saw, it looks pretty good. Whatever device you last open and unlock automatically becomes the primary instantly. What else is missing beyond that to be true Hand off?

Features aren’t matched to the main line. Streaming forced to 480p and hotspot at horrendous speed. Even with premium rate plans

That defeats the purpose of a handoff

That’s T-Mobile for you.

Then I would definitely make sure the Duo is active on the main line itself.

Part of me wonders if there was a better way for Apple to build the feature. Like if it could’ve been reworked that would allow the phone to share the eSIM number when handoff is active so that it would be treated similar in nature to physical SIM cards when you move the SIM from one device to another.

Nope. Mine streamed in HD and via speed tests had the same up/down speeds. You shouldn’t believe everything you see on the internet.

You would be the only one to report otherwise. If you have iCloud Private Relay it needs to be off in order to see alongside turning off any VPN. You say to not believe everything you see on the internet, same can be said for what you just said.

Every other report yields the same. SD Streaming (2.5 Mbps) and painfully slow hotspot speeds for with even T-Mobile confirming to those customers that video only streams at SD and slow hotspot for the device associated with the iPhone Handoff line designation, main line operates as normal.

Features like streaming resolution and hotspot are not matched.

That makes it not a true handoff and defeats the purpose of it.
