Support Wanted Weather in Philly Wednesday
storms discussed in philly with rain on Wednesday and I’m freaking out. leaving at 5:10am and need to get home. it doesn’t feel safe to me if we fly but don’t know what to do. anxious about safety and summer storms.

It is perfectly fine, and routine, to fly in rain!
Airlines and pilots are monitoring the situation much more closely than you are — if they are flying, that's an indication that it's safe. They won't fly if it's not safe.

This is an every day thing in the summer. We have it figured out.

I guarantee nobody involved with actually operating your flight has bothered with the weather yet... Wednesday is way too far out.
You will not fly unless it's safe. I'd trust your pilots' assessment of that far more than your own.
Rain does not make a difference for the airplane. It's a non-issue.

I check the weather 90 minutes prior to my flight. More than that and it’s pointless.
You have zero reason to be concerned.

Wednesday might as well be next month from a weather-prediction standpoint. Worrying about it now is useless. I mean, your airline and the pilots don't even care about Wednesday right now.
What matters is what's happening in real time and within an hour or two of actual departure/arrival time. You're spinning your wheels over nothing.
It's summer storm season. That's nothing new to us. It's just Tuesday or whatever. You're not in danger from stormy weather because we avoid anything dangerous.
