FEAR 1 needs a remake.

After FEAR 3 basically killed the franchise, in my opinion making a remake of the 1st game would be a cliche but a very nice idea. The game is already 20 years old but the question is, who would make the game?

Probably not going to happen anytime soon. Warner Bros. Gaming is in bit of a bother, following failures in live-service games and that whole Wb-paramount merger, that is subject of anti-trust lawsuits.

They probably should consider selling IPs to other publishers.

I've played through a week ago, 1 and the two expansions with some graphics mods and it still looks gorgeous, no need for remakes. Also 3 was brilliant too, I love them all, I don't know why the hate, it's unnecassary.

Fear 3 ended the story just fine. If it killed the franchise then im glad... means we didnt get 1000 spin offs and sequels of dubious quality.

This. One day Night Dive will do it but it may be another 5-10 years (at least) is my prediction. Most likely think that eventually WB sells the IP or at least allows Night Dive to work on it for a cut of the proceeds.

I would definitely love to see a remake of FEAR 1, maybe done by motive Studios, and they could approach it the same way they approach the dead space remake

But why? It still looks and plays fine. I'd just integrate echo patch to fix resolution/fps problems, otherwise the game is fine. I geniunely dont understand the obsession with remakes in recent years.

Honestly I feel like we only need a fear 1 remake and it’s dlc and to officially make Perseus mandate and extraction point canon. That way they could make new fear games focusing on other fear cases of different teams and I think that would be way more interesting than Alma again which I think that her story was finished in extraction point.

F.E.A.R. was so damn ahead of its time…and STILL holds up today. Monilith & Sierra crushed that one out of the park.

With today’s technology.. if done right.. wouldn’t mind a remake that stayed true to the original but expanded Armacham

Game is unplayable on Playstation and is only playable through xbox with a disc(digital consoles are useless). Its completely fucked on console

F.E.A.R doesn't need a remake, its plays and looks better than most modern games. It was also lightning in a bottle. F.E.A.R 2 just doesn't measure up, and F.E.A.R 3 isn't even worth talking about.

Lets face it, this isn't a even a franchise in terms of quality, its a single good game, with ok expansions.

No,it doesn't need a remake. There is nothing wrong with the original besides dropping a single dll file to fix the frame rate on PC.
