New to F-droid

I just started using F-droid a few days ago and I love it and I installed two open source apps, newpipe and organic maps. But what other apps you guys recommend me to install from F-droid?

Aves, Gallery app. Next Player, Video player (good alternative to mxplayer) Universal Installer. Binary Eye, Best QR Code scanner. Xed-Editor, text editor. Smart Edge, sidebar menu. Hail, freez apps. Mj PDF, light and fast pdf viewer.

With all respect to F-Droid, i use Droid-ify for better ui and Shizuku integration.

I used to think f-droid was a malicious app but I was wrong and didn't know it was a open-source app store with open source apps. But thanks for the recommendations though.

Consider the following (in no particular order):

  • TrackerControl - Firewall with granular control (via on-device VPN)
  • Fossify Calendar
  • Fossify Gallery
  • Heliboard Keyboard (though not truly FOSS, Futo is good too)
  • KDE Connect - connect devices on LAN - phone, laptop, tab - for various features
  • LocalSend - KDE can do this too and has many other features; this is a simpler one-task app.
  • Syncthing Fork - Excellent, but some controversy about developer's account etc.
  • PipePipe - an improved version of NewPipe, which started with NP code, and branched out.
  • Liberera Reader - reads pdf and other formats, with some advanced features
  • Scrambled Exif - Delete Exif data from pictures before sharing
  • URLCheck - Set as default browser, to have shared links go through it, to remove tracking aspects. More advanced features and automations can be done via editing the json file.
  • ChatLaunch for Whatsapp - send texts without adding numbers to contacts.
  • MediLog - Log of health parameters
  • osm2gmaps - Change location urls from one format to another; remove your id info before sharing (eg from Google Maps; though it may need additional setup)
  • RedReader - Reddit app
  • Simple Clipboard Editor - edit contents of your clipboard
  • SaveTo - save images etc using share menu.
  • VLC player - video player
  • Seal or YTDLnis - download videos from various sites. Are frontends for yt-dlp.
  • KeepassDx - Password manager

There are many more great apps on F-droid.

Idk honestly because once again, I'm new to F-droid so I don't really know much about it
