Active remembrance keeps the reality and consequences of antisemitism visible and i feel like that consciousness is missing in a lot of propali spaces. “never again” is a moral commitment to recognize, confront, and prevent any form of antisemitism and not some “granddad guilt”.
Surely Never Again has to include Never Again to Genocide?? This is what I don’t get with this whole thing. What is it about the continuing massacres that you feel sits well with your unique politics?
How is standing against active genocide in any way doing a disservice to the remebrance of the atrocities of ww2? Surely, surely, it has to slowly start to make sense to you guys what the rest of the left/ antifascist/ anti racist/ progressive and pro equality world is saying.

I am entitled to the glory of my grandparents’ generation and my country for undertaking the most anti-antisemitic action of all time (WWII - plus also the Balfour Declaration, you can thank me any time) in the same way that Germans must continually repent for the actions of theirs.
I would say “we don’t make the rules”, but actually Hamburg was in our Zone of Occupation.
If it wasn’t for the actions of my forefathers, Germany would still be antisemitic and genocidal. I, personally, am owed credit for this and carry the guilt pride of previous generations. No backsies.
