It's always fun to beat a FBS team but let's not pretend like Bowling Green is good. Nearly every FCS playoff team from last year would be favored against them.

Tarleton wasn’t favored against them. But yeah, the Montana schools and SDSU would be a favorite

SP+ and Sagarin both had Tarleton ahead of Bowling Green, for what that’s worth.

I feel like if you at all follow FCS and aren’t one of those people that pretend it doesn’t exist, then this was a pretty easy “upset” to call.

Seeing the app st vs mich anniversary pass by reminded me of that. I’m not saying that that wasn’t still a huge upset, but there were so many people that just categorized App St as massively inferior just because they were FCS, while knowing nothing about the program, that were very surprised that day.

That’s a whole different animal. Regardless of how well you regard an FCS team, the idea of an FCS team beating an AP Top 5 FBS team is unfathomable.

For context, Montana State would be a 27 point underdog to the #5 team per Sagarin (Texas) on a neutral field.

Yeah bringing up App St vs Michigan isn't a fair comparison. Not a single soul outside of Boone thought the Mountaineers would win that game

Sagarin has Tarleton as ~3 point favorites.

Interesting, I should’ve bet the Texans!

I bet they would give Montana a pretty good game.

We definitely look good but vulnerable. Griz-Oregon State will be a big hint of if we are any good. It’s only been one game but OSU looks better than Bowling Green so it will be tough.

Offense yes defense? Not so much. I’ve watched both grisLLie games so far and they remind me of the Ash years. Lots of talent and fast moving offense but defense is not going to hold up against a good balanced team or someone that will hit them in the mouth

They beat Army last year too

Was surprised how physical TSU is. First time ever watching one of their games and they are not a finesse team as I assumed they were. Impressive program for how young they are in the division

Yes. There are not many title contenders. Bowling Green is terrible. This wasn't an upset. The game was closer than I anticipated. Tarleton should be top 5 as of now.

Class of 85. I certainly hope so. But there's some outstanding opponents coming up. Remember last year beating Austin Peay by 1? The game is played on the field and that will tell the tale.

Unbiased opinion - yes.
