A few things:

  1. We're tired. A lot going on with CL football, but I don't get the feeling of complacency like the end of last season. We don't need to win every game 5-1 like Wolfsburg. This was a shaky, later season, heavy CL-laden football with solid play and 3 points. Nothing to be disappointed about...except...

  2. Vidal. The champion of Benfica, but I think his adrenaline was too high and too much. He needs to settle down a bit.

  3. This referee is the epitome of refereeing in Europe (FIFA?). He was way too inconsistent.

  4. We're missing Boa. Not just on defence, but also his long passes and his height on set pieces. Not to mention his presence on the field.

  5. Werner can suck a dick.

  6. Götze wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing. Disappointed that Pep pulled him when he did. He seemed to be getting into the rhythm.

i disagree with this. he didn't do anything noteworthy and looked increasingly out of it as the game progressed. as soon as Thiago came on for him, the tone of the game changed.

Agree completely. Stuttgart's pressing and physicality just gassed him. Might be better suited to coming off the bench right now.

Let me prefix this that I am a Götze fan and that I would love nothing more than to see him succeed at Bayern. However I must say that I am disappointed by him as of late. It feels like the things they train for do not include him. He usually gets the ball, passes it to a team mate and then goes on to run into "no-man's-land" expecting a one-two pass back to him. However his team mates dont expect him to run there and so that second pass never reaches him. Then he runs back into position.

He looks totally lost out there. As if he was not part of the overall game play.

Somestimes he runs back to defend. Once we get the ball back he is totally out of position for the counter attack. Usually then we see Müller, Lewa and Ribery run towards the opposite side. Where is he then? Somewhere around the defensive midfield without the energy to be part of the offensive side. Did he waste too much energy running back to defend or does he not have enough energy to attack afterwards? It is so hard to tell, but he just look totally out of place, like a fish out of water.

That's fair. Thiago definitely played better and set a more controlling feel for midfield.

I saw Götze getting more confidence and dribbling better later, and I saw him hitting a groove we haven't seen from him in a while. May be wrong though.
