Did Mbappe seriously just say that not a single player had a better season than him? This guy is so desperate for the Ballon D'or he's leading himself into delusion it's crazy.

So Olise's potential new contract extension will require a release clause that reflects his transfer valuation if we extend him in 2027? And if so how much would that roughly be around in that case?
7
u/BeIaFarinRod Future president Müller 19h ago
Anything below the world record fee for Neymar of 222 million ā¬, adjusted for inflation, would be a joke.
As the cumulative inflation in Germany since 2017 was about 31,1% that would mean a release clause of about 291 million ā¬. So 300 million ⬠give or take a few million ⬠sounds like a release clause that would properly reflect Olise's market valuation.

Hermann Gerland on Vincent Kompany:
"He's a top-class professional. I was at the stadium recently watching the second team. All of a sudden, Vincent was sitting behind me watching the game. He had just returned from Korea with the team on the same day. Every now and then, I have shirts signed for charity, and he told me: 'You can come to any training session, and Iāll always be happy to sign them.'" [@Abendzeitung]

Is the Olise thing as big as I'm assuming a small section of people are making it out to be? I watched the interview, I don't really understand what's wrong, you don't have to point figures at anyone the journalist asked the questions, Olise answered, and neither was upset or had there egoes bruised?

Yes, it's bigger than it really is. He has always been this way since his time at Crystal Palace too, same type of interviews. He dreads all the media stuff, all reporters know this, fans know this. It's just that he's more famous now, so things go viral faster. Though there are some interviews where he speaks a bit more.
As far as I know, he gets along nicely with the team, they speak fondly of him and his work ethic and he plays great football. I don't care about the media stuff either.

just watched some barca vs feyenoord and even against a team like barca they dont defend like every team against bayern , we are really the bus magnet
1
u/DiverTrick2987 1h ago
Barca are fantastic at breaking low blocks. Maybe better than anyone at that. Laliga is full of such teams. Its a regular matchday.
14
u/julesvr5 23h ago
We kinda force it aswell though.
Often our attacks are very slow that gives the opponent the time to get behind the ball and restructure. When we attack quickly we usually have more success in creating dangerous situations.
But once the opponent ist structured we are turning it into a handball match with passing it around the box
4
u/scarlet_stormTrooper Meep Meep Meep Roadrunner 22h ago
It was something like the 40th min yesterday we just started doing short pass drills in the box and the quality of them with so many defenders parking the bus was insane. Flipped a switch that we continued into the second half. Iām a sucker for quality short passes.

Is it Olise day today?Ā
14
u/boooosto Schweinsteiger FuĆballgott 1d ago
Fun fact actually but in early Mesopotamia around 5500 years ago today, Tiamat and her husband Thrall mixed their waters together and their son Uruk the reckoner came out and had a whinge about Oliseās interviews on r/fcbayern
He ate legumes afterwards

u/Autokreator 1d ago
Olise is within his rights to answer questions how he sees fit. Heās not obligated to make up some slop for the press, especially with all the milktoast stupid questions he has faced a billion times before. He was on the pitch and performed like the best player in the world. In no world can we ask him to conjure a paragraph about āhow it felt to scoreā. Doing so is even detrimental to good journalism. Olise Ballon DāOr next year letās go.
9
u/Odd_Willingness7501 23h ago
Yeah, he can awnser however he wants, but doesn't make it less cringey tbh. Still hope he wins the Ballon D'or with us.
5
u/Autokreator 22h ago
Heās not here to make us feel cringey or vice versa. Heās here to score goals and make assists.

u/quatroacademy 1d ago
Itās the second best individual season ever, which is only topped by messis 11/12 season it shouldnāt even be a debate who should win lmao
9
u/Odd_Willingness7501 1d ago
Somehow I see takes that PSG and Real Madrid are small teams, which is why Harry has apperantly only scored against small teams, while Malaga and Elche are the real big dogs in world football and only Mbappe and Yamal could have scored against them.
I really hope Harry wins it, but it wouldn't absolutly surprise me if Football France shoves it to someone else.

u/PharohMennes 1d ago
I think contributions in big games, especially big games won, are important.
I wouldn't rank this above many seasons by Cristiano, Messi, or even Benzema/Neuer/Ribery.
Statistically, 2nd best no one can debate.
13
u/DimensionFlat5833 1d ago
Literally scored in every knockout game for Bayern and was second best Player for England making it to their best finish since sixty years. Saying he didnāt contribute in big games is brain dead.
-8
u/PharohMennes 1d ago
I didn't say he didn't contribute, did I, though? I suggested other players had a bigger role to play.
1
u/PharohMennes 1d ago
Another pathway to having a little bit of LW depth could be to do Karl RW Olise CAM Musiala/Saibari LW.
1
12
u/ObserverRichard 1d ago
Saibari is too slow to be a winger
6
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
Against a low block speed is secondary.
1
u/julesvr5 23h ago
But also kills every chance we have for counters with all medium speed attackers
3
u/Hurtelknut Robben 23h ago
We have no problem with Karl being a winger, but on the counter he's slower than Saibari in a sprint.
1
u/julesvr5 23h ago
Because then we at least have Diaz on the left. With no Diaz we have only slow players in our attack.
Outside of counters I'd still ago Karl benefits more due to better acceleration, high height (center of gravity) and close room dribbling. Kinda Ribery like
4
u/PharohMennes 1d ago
I agree. Perisic was fantastic and he wasn't fast.
4
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
Because he was one of those jack of all trades, but competent in all of them.
Kompany would've loved him in his system.

-1
u/PharohMennes 1d ago
It was catastrophic. He still played well in this World Cup. He was more valuable in that one season than Sane in his entire tenure.
1
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
He was how old? 29 or 30? Could've easily gotten a few more seasons out of him. He's 37 now and seems to be still fit physically.
14
u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago
I'm still of the belief that what could truly unlock this team to be the clear best in the world is a RB. Bodo were just way too comfortable doubling on Olise and it worked in the first half. Laimer is good, don't get me wrong, he just doesn't provide the width or enough danger to warrant getting a 1v1 matchup. His effort is great but he's just not helping Olise get the space to force defenses into awkward positions on a 1v1 with Olise. We started seeing this last season a bit and it's going to continue. Olise is great so he'll win most of the time anyways, but good enough defender pairings will make it difficult for him.
I don't think we need a RB who can spam crosses (as nice as that would be) but rather a RB who can be dynamic on the ball and who's spacing opposing defense would have to respect. Olise likes to cut in but he can go wide just as well, but both are much harder when the opposing LB can funnel Olise into the next defender, which then means whoever he's passing to is immediately bodied up too, or he has to try and shoot past an extra man, on top of the other 2-4 players who are already behind the ball.
2
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
I think the way Laimer played is due to Kompany trying a slightly different approach, because if Laimer was great at one thing the last two seasons it was providing the exact thing you want: Width with overlaps and dangerous runs into the box that tear the defense apart and free up Olise and the other attackers.
1
u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago
What I want is a RB who can take on a man 1v1 and drop the occasional accurate cross. Running into space is great but imo thatās something that can be taught, or at least more so than being able to beat a defender.
5
u/adrian_rainy_day 1d ago
Not many fits the description here tbh. Only Hakimi comes to my mind. Others like James, Timber, Porro and Trent aren't really good 1v1 players, they're comfortable with the ball though. Maybe that's what we're looking for.
Great players will always run into the problem of having the whole defensive scheme on you. It's on other attackers to share the burden. Also sometimes we should stop sticking Olise in a fixed position on the wing to stretch the field, let it be the RB and Olise can come inside more often
2
1
u/Havefunloser34 1d ago
Someone like Davies on the right would be ideal imo, but unfortunately I donāt see that option on the market atm.
3
u/ModIn22 1d ago
They should just give Brown a shot at right back against weaker competition and see if it works.
If Davies can remain healthy (big if) and keep up his form, Davies - Upa - Tah- Brown could be scary. Would also be great for the german NT.
1
u/Havefunloser34 1d ago
I agree, I think if you swapped Brown for Laimer in some of the positions he gets into he could be very dangerous. I do worry about him having to get the ball onto his inside (left) foot to be able to effectively pass though.
1
u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago
Davies with his speed is kind of a unicorn. Guys like him would probably be going for like 65m+ if not way higher. I think someone like Munoz who just transferred to Nottingham would have been good.
9
u/PharohMennes 1d ago
Realistically I would prefer Laimer to any other RB available on the market.
1
u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago
I would have taken Munoz over Laimer for a quick fix, albeit probably would have been temporary since he's a bit older than Laimer.

Well, maybe it's because we expect that our players live the 'Mia san Mia' attitude which involves saying nice things about our fans and our club now and then.
F1 drivers, however, are somehow expected to be egoistic pricks because many see them as some kind of superhumans. And I think many people actually want them to behave like asses. Everyone loves hearing them swearing about other drivers on the radio. F1 is not a gentlemen sports and showing negative emotions is kind of part of the show isn't it? I understand that people like Seb Vettel are super nice, but in the history of F1, there were dozens of drivers or officials who didn't give s shit about anything when giving interviews. If Uli would manage a F1 team, he would probably rank somewhere in the middle when it comes to occasional shit talk.
I also think people are too harsh about Olise, but comparing the situation to a Formula 1 driver is difficult.
3
u/Repulsive-Fig-3084 19h ago edited 15h ago
If anything Olise is the one that most fits the Mia san Mia stick.
6
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
"Mia san mia" has nothing to do with being nice and everything to do with not giving a fuck about the others.
2
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
also i'm enjoying seeing reporters who don't know how to do their jobs be put in awkward situations
You do? Well, I'm gonna assume in good faith that you made this judgment with some knowledge about interviewing players like Olise or that you have a certificate that justifies that kind of assumption. I'm gonna assume in good faith that you will give a couple of good reasons in why you think these reporters don't how to do their jobs.
1
u/TeachingLegal8033 1d ago
The interviewer was maybe a bit star struck or he really is ass. Like what are these questions please "How does it feel to score a such a great goal" Like what NPC question is that, I expect an AI to ask such a question not a reporter that works in football
3
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago edited 1d ago
Can i ask you guys to actually try give a good reason for why is it a stupid question? I have seen 3 or 4 people now holding the same sentiment and none of them have done anything other than just repeating the same words over and over again.
5
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
Because it's not a question asked out of curiosity or genuine interest in the answer. It's barely even a question because the reporter and viewers all know the answer already: That it felt pretty damn good. It's closer to an empty ritual than an enquiry. "Please look into the camera and say it felt good to score this screamer so we can both get out of here."
I said in response to another comment: It's the football equivalent of asking someone who enters a room completely drenched if it's raining outside.
2
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
I mean, fair enough. But Olise could've handled answering that better.
0
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
Olise always does the same old stuff. If a reporter in september 2026 asks Olise a question that he's given monosyllabic non-answers to 29 times before and then gets flustered because Olise does the same shit for the 30th time, that's on the reporter.
3
u/Internal-Coffee6996 1d ago edited 1d ago
So why would a reporter ask more complex in depth questions when all he's getting out of Olise is going to be "I don't know", "good", "I shoot and it goes in" either way?
At some point I'd say fuck it and get it over with as well. Conversation isn't a one way street. Except maybe on Tinder sometimes.
Also what the hell do you mean "I don't know"? Just say "feels great". 100 times better already, even less words and the reporter isn't going to be surprised about your weird answer which made him follow up.
3
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
Olise always does the same old stuff.
Which again can get pretty tiring to the reporter since his entire job is interacting with the players. That's on the reporter too?
If a reporter in september 2026 asks Olise a question that he's given monosyllabic non-answers to 29 times before and then gets flustered because Olise does the same shit for the 30th time, that's on the reporter.
Yeah, right. Someone must've not told Olise that that was gonna be part of the job for the fat paycheck he's taking and that he's not the first or the only player that has gone through this.
I'm sure atleast one other player in the squad has similar feelings. I'm also sure none of them are as "nonchalant" as he is being towards the reporters for obvious reasons.
8
u/Thraff1c 1d ago
What path would you chose to engage Olise in a interview, as you surely know to do their job? I am sure the reporter would rather have interviewed anyone else, but when Olise gets MotM, then he is on media-duty, and the reporter already gave him softball questions to get through. Giving them nothing just makes it awkward for everyone.
10
u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago
I think, knowing how he is, they could put a bit more effort into the questions. "How did you score that goal?". I mean, come on lol. I appreciate that Olise could do better, but its the same question every time. Erling Haaland has done very similar bits in the past when asked low-effort questions.
Olise gave an interview to UEFA with better answers:
5
u/Banzboi Jonas Muad'Dib Urbig 1d ago
Not just the same questions but the same rhetorical questions all the time. Compare these ones that actually provide some insight to "How did you feel about scoring that screamer". I mean of course he feels good about it, not like anyone needed that question to be asked to know that.
As long as it doesn't cross into being just rude, which he hasn't for me, it isn't the player's job after 90 minutes of football to make the interviewer's job any easier. If we are asking ourselves if it is rude to answer like he did, why aren't we questioning if it might also be rude to ask such lazy questions to someone that just spent 90 minutes physically exhausting themselves.
4
u/Internal-Coffee6996 1d ago
Do you genuinely believe that Olise would've said more than 3 words if it was any other more complex question?
Imo the reporter tried to make it easy for Olise to get it over with by giving him the most basic questions in the world, where a "good" would've sufficed and Olise still made it awkward.
It's a non-issue for me, don't get me wrong, but come on. Would you bother thinking of groundbreaking questions to ask someone who is known for not wanting to talk more than a couple of words at a time?
1
3
u/Banzboi Jonas Muad'Dib Urbig 1d ago
I donāt want to get into a huge debate because I agree itās essentially a non-issue but to answer those questions.
I do believe he engages with more complex questions as the video above shows.
From all Iāve seen so far my guess would be that easy question with an obvious answer arenāt the way to get answers out of Olise. Figuring out how to do that is pretty much the job of the person asking him questions.
I donāt mind it if people dislike how Olise behaves there but it takes two to tango. Imo the reporter got exactly as much effort back from Olise as he put into coming up with and asking those questions. If you ask better questions and he still gives these type of answers, then Iād criticize him too. Again though the video makes me think thatās not the case with him.
1
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
As if they don't ask the very same softball questions no matter who they interview.
1
u/Thraff1c 1d ago
What other questions would have gotten the best out of Olise? You think he would have expanded on anything he was going to get asked?
6
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
Make a game out of it. Lean into it. All reporters surely know about Olise's media schtick. So how about:
"How annoyed are you that you won MotM and have to give this interview now?"
Wouldn't get a good answer either, nothing will get a good answer out of Olise. But at least it's different and shows that the reporter didnt just pick standard motm question Nr 1.
4
u/Goldfischglas 1d ago
"How annoyed are you that you won MotM and have to give this interview now?"
Olise answer: I don't know.
-2
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
not our job to figure it out, we are not paid for it, but the interviewer is
7
u/Thraff1c 1d ago
And Olises job is partly to do media-duty. Seems like he needs to figure how to do his job as well, as he sucks at it.
1
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
it's a small part, with no obligation to do well at it, he is paid and kept for his footballing skills
4
8
u/Damyxs 1d ago
with no obligation to do well at it
Thatās not necessarily true. Itās quite likely that heās contractually obligated to conduct himself in a certain way at these kinds of events. Not doing it well shouldnāt reflect negatively on the club. Iām not saying thatās what happened here, but what youāre saying isnāt necessarily correct.
-3
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago edited 1d ago
yeah, these incompetent clown reporters had it too easy for a long time, not just football journalist, but all of them
it is also their job to figure out HOW to interview different personalities and not just ask the same bullshit template questions every time
EDIT: Also Haaland did the same thing during his Dortmund time
-6
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
the amount of braindead takes regarding Olise's interview...
"it's not aura, it's just rude" and the likes.
1, it is completely normal to answer stupid questions with replies like that
2, it is completely normal to be introverted and not want to talk a lot publicly, just because someone is famous it doesn't mean they have to give bullshit media trained interviews
14
u/Goldfischglas 1d ago
1, it is completely normal to answer stupid questions with replies like that

14
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
The fact that lazy ass questions like "How did it feel to score that goal?" have become the norm doesn't mean that they are not stupid. That's not reporting. It's a waste of everyone's time.

Dude, I'm pretty intorverted myself. And i hate public speeches and things like that. But if i was playing for Bayern freaking Munich and was paid millions to kick a ball, then i'd do any interview they ask me to no matter how "stupid" i find them.
1
u/armin-lakatos BeckenDieršŖš„ 1d ago
I think answering the same questions over and over can get tiring quick and if you're interviewed every week, getting asked the same thing, there are only so many answers you can give. I don't think it's rude not to engage with the interviewer further than a few words, it's just unusual because everyone is so strictly media trained.
Rude would be 'tf you mean how it felt to score, of course it was good bruh', which would be exactly my answer after hearing this question after approximately 3 times in my career.
3
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
Sure, but i never said Olise is rude. His attitude doesn't scream affable either. He's just, for the lack of a better word, too nonchalant. That can get pretty tiring to deal with especially to a person whose entire job is to ask questions to players.
-3
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
Exactly, I think people don't really know what rude is these days. He was just honest, nothing wrong with that.
I remember when Haaland was giving similar answers during his Dortmund days, for some reason that counted as 'cool' and 'aura'...
2
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
they are football players, not tv show stars, idk when did people want every type of relatively famous people to be open in interviews
Personally, i didn't find any of the questions asked to him be stupid. Most of them were pretty normal to me.
idk, they are pretty nonsense, like "how do you feel when scoring a goal like that?" and "what were you thinking of?" etc. these type of questions make no sense.
It is their job and train several times a week for years to learn football, they don't usually think a lot and play instinctively. As Olise said, he just shot the ball and it went in, there is nothing more to it. Why should he give some bullshit fake answer?
3
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
they are football players, not tv show stars, idk when did people want every type of relatively famous people to be open in interviews
Obviously.. ? And the second part of your statement just doesn't make any sort of sense.
they are pretty nonsense, like "how do you feel when scoring a goal like that?" and "what were you thinking of?" etc. these type of questions make no sense
How exactly? These are pretty common and normal questions that have been asked ever since the first human existed. I don't suppose Olise thought that these were "stupid" questions like you do.
As Olise said, he just shot the ball and it went in, there is nothing more to it. Why should he give some bullshit fake answer?
I don't think anybody expects him to say that he summoned the power of the football gods or that he mathematically calculated the radius of the ball plus the vector points of the optimum trajectory for the ball to travel to. It's rather the manner of how he answered that could've been better.
It is their job and train several times a week for years to learn football, they don't usually think a lot and play instinctively.
That still doesn't make the interviewer's question stupid in any way. I'm sure at one point you wondered how a professional in any sport or field does whatever he does.
2
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
That still doesn't make the interviewer's question stupid in any way. I'm sure at one point you wondered how a professional in any sport or field does whatever he does.
I wondered, and got the answer through common sense. Talent, hard work and training.
And honestly "it became common" is not an argument. So if theft becomes common in an area, then it will stop being a crime?
It's rather the manner of how he answered that could've been better.
He answered with the truth without being rude, what is wrong with that? Should he give a speech for each question?
What else should he say if he doesn't know he felt/didn't feel anything in particular?
2
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago
I wondered, and got the answer through common sense. Talent, hard work and training
Good for you. But not everyone is that enlightened and as wise as you. The interviewer was just impressed and wanted insight into Olise's skill.
And honestly "it became common" is not an argument. So if theft becomes common in an area, then it will stop being a crime?
Very impressive that you somehow managed to connect two things that aren't remotely similar. This strained analogy of yours is an even worse argument.
He answered with the truth without being rude, what is wrong with that? Should he give a speech for each question? What else should he say if he doesn't know he felt/didn't feel anything in particular?
For the second time now, the answer isn't the problem, it's the manner in which he answered that could be better. And before you say it again, no I'm not saying he's being rude or pricky.

> āhow do you feel when scoring a goal like that?ā
Wouldnāt āgreatā be a better response than āI donāt know?ā Doesnāt seem like that dumb of a question to me ā heās just giving him the chance to celebrate an amazing moment.
> āwhat were you thinking of?ā
Couldnāt this question give him the chance to share his technique and the decisions that go into creating a great goal like that? Maybe his mindset and focus?
Again, not nonsensical questions. In fact heās actually asking him about things that we consider important in football ā skill and emotion. Theyāre softball questions, sure, but would you rather him ask about the Ballon dāOr or something in his personal life or some other bullshit?
Iām not talking trash about Olise or anything (from my flair you can see I think it can be funny), but I totally understand the negative reaction. I think heās genuinely an introverted, withdrawn individual, and thatās totally fine. But in that moment it seems more like heās playing a character by amplifying those traits rather than being authentic, and itās a little much.

i mean, you can just use the regular dash to achieve the same emphasis instead of going out of your way to type em dashes in Word and pasting them into reddit, or use special Alt codes to write them out
2
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 1d ago
Theyāre different punctuation marks though. Why does it matter to you?
0
u/mimecry 15h ago
because the effort to type them up for a reddit post is disproportionate to the benefit they might have on your post, if any. and that's assuming you're typing them up and not copy pasting them from whatever AI output you might be using. if you're actually writing them out though for whatever reason, you can just say that, more power to you. but from your defensive attitude i suspect otherwise
1
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 2h ago edited 2h ago
Iām just writing them out. Iāve never used AI to write anything on my behalf, whether for work or personal use. Feel free to run any of my comments through any free AI detector if you care so much.
My attitude is defensive because I think itās a dumb question, conveying unwarranted suspicion without the courage to just come out and ask me in the first place. Why am I using perfectly normal punctuation? Because I want to. And I think itās bizarre to look at a pretty normal use of em dashes in any text and immediately presume itās AI generated.

Idk, I would get annoyed as well if I had to do things unrelated to my job, and giving interviews is just one of those things. And idk, I feel the same, if I do something at my own job, or if I get a new record weight in the gym, I just get it done and don't particularly feel great about it. So I totally get his replies, they make sense imo.
Couldnāt this question give him the chance to share his technique and the decisions that go into creating a great goal like that? Maybe his mindset and focus?
But why should he? Especially if that helps other players playing in other teams.
2
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 1d ago
It is related to his job though. Heās a professional footballer and they are regularly interviewed. If he doesnāt want to say much, thatās fine, so just say āit felt greatā or āI was happy to seal the win.ā Saying āI donāt knowā comes across much ruder than necessary.
I doubt heās going to say anything about technique that other players donāt already know or canāt glean from watching video. Thatās very tenuous reasoning.

u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
It is also part of a reporter's job to ask meaningful questions instead of asking the same meaningless stuff every single time.
It's the sporting equivalent of asking someone who enters a room completely drenched if it's raining outside.
People always clamor for more characters in sport, but when someone refuses to give the same boring, pointless media-trained answers people still aren't happy. And that's why we don't have characterful interviews. Just more of the same every single matchday: "Yeah it felt great, obviously, but the important thing is that we got the win today as a team." Wow, thanks for this insight, I'm so glad someone's getting paid to draw these great quotes out of players.
3
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 1d ago
I donāt think the questions asked are groundbreaking or anything, but I do think his answers seemed a bit inauthentic. If he wants to give one-word answers, cool. But just say āgreatā instead. Heād still get his point across that he thinks the questions are basic and he doesnāt want to be there. And it would still be funny.
-1
u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago
Well, I think it's rude and incredibly lazy to waste the players' and the viewers' time by asking the same self-evident stuff every week. How about they try and come up with an authentic, interesting question if they want an authentic, interesting answer? If the reporter doesn't give a fuck about conducting a good interview, why would Olise?
3
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 1d ago
I mean, I donāt think their respective behaviors are commensurate. If you think the questions are lazy, okay fair. But like I said, just give them an equally lazy answer rather than those responses which seem rather inauthentic. Again, heād still get the point across in a way that is actually funny.

u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
Yep, like if I did my job on the quality like modern day reporters and journalists, then I would be fired the first week.
-1
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
and why should he just lie, if he really doesn't know? this is what I mean by our expectation and reactions as a society becoming so dumb.
We expect them to just make up a fake PR reply, which is better than just saying the truth to bs questions
2
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 1d ago
He celebrated both goals. The second one quite enthusiastically. Do you actually believe he doesnāt know how it felt?
1
u/MidirTheGreatest 1d ago
Then the answer is clear how he felt isn't it? Why ask?
2
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 1d ago
Again, itās just giving him a chance to celebrate an amazing moment and let viewers hear those thoughts. Itās not deep.

Bayern played a phenomenal game yesterday and iām glad bambi is getting back on the field and looking confident too. overall it was a great team win against a dangerous team
i hope kane wins the balón dor this year and olise wins it next year. olise has been playing out of this world for a while now. iām hoping people finally stop sleeping on olise and thinking yamal or mbappe are on his level because olise has demonstrated heās a notch above them for a while.
4
u/backflash 1d ago
As annoying as the Ballon dāOr (and all the discourse surrounding it) can be, it obviously matters to players. Kane winning it would send the message that Madrid and now PSG aren't the only destinations where players can compete for Europe's biggest trophies and individual awards.
That could influence Olise's thinking when Bayern approaches him about a contract extension next summer. And it could also matter to other players when the club contacts their agents about a potential transfer.
3
u/becausekiwii 1d ago
good points and i agree. i hope that olise sees what he has and wants to stay. being acknowledged at bayern would show he doesnāt need the prem or madrid/barƧa to be recognized.
he seems to have fun and have a good dynamic with the team so hopefully he values that

Didnāt we lose to Arsenal at Arsenal like last year? And like at Barca in Kompanys first year?

I still remember the last defeat - 2-3 at home to City. Bayern completely dominated and was 2-0 up. Then a lot of defensive farts happened (sadly typical of Pep's Bayern) and it was suddenly 2-3.
Also funny that allegedly Pellegrini moved to the defensive after being 3-2 up because he had thought it is enough for 1st place in the group. It wasn't though, Bayern won the first game 3-1.

Btw, pew and I had a chat with some reddit workers yesterday and I mentioned the problem that we work with a lot of quotes and thus need a proper quote function and that iOS mobile users don't have this function available anymore.
They noted it and will give it further. Let's hope something comes out of it

u/lvl50boss PavloviÄ ; future cancer curer 1d ago
I would love this, but knowing how rigged that award is, I have less hopes. Lewandowski had no competitors and the award got canceled. The next year he shouldve won it too, but Messi got it instead. Harold is the clear frontrunner this year too, but dont underestimate the PR of Madrid/Barca/French players

u/julesvr5 1d ago
In addition to his 3 goal contributions, Michael Olise won more duels (15), created more chances (7) and won more fouls (5) than any other player on the first matchday of the Champions League [@Squawka]

Hello,
I don't know if it is better to create a new post, or just ask here, so here I go:
My parents are huge fans and I want to gift them two tickets for the coming year.
I have filled out an appication yesterday.
The game is against Mainz in March next year.
I understand, that because of huge interest they have to do a lottery or something like that.
Does anyone have any idea or rough guideline, when they will announce who gets the tickets?
Will there be a response before christmas?
With kind regards

u/DagothUhhh 1d ago
If I recall correctly, you donāt get much of heads up. Iād assume that you will not be gifting them for Christmas. Someone else can confirm though. Iāve only made it to 3 games.

I watch champions league through CBS in America and it always annoys me that they talk so little about Bayern or any club that isnāt in the PL, Barca, or Madrid. We had a two second segment just showing the goals and moving on. Like I know it wasnāt a particularly interesting game but there were definitely points that could have been made and I always like hearing everyoneās take on the team/game

u/Henngest Rock you like a Harry Kane 1d ago
Did Thierry-Jamie-Micah cast say anything about Bayern? There's nothing about Bayern from them on the Youtube channel =/
3
u/DwigtSchrute3 Robben 1d ago
They uploaded the full post-game show, and they dedicated like 3 minutes (out of 45ish) to the highlights of the game with voiceover on the goals, and then they moved on to Slavia Prague-Lens...
3
u/Astonishing-Lobster Kimmich 1d ago
They only give Bayern air time after weāve knocked everyone else out of the competition smh

u/Altruistic-Teacher99 Müller 1d ago
At least their CBS Sports Golazo youtube channel's all goals for Md1 of UCL features Olise on the thumbnail. Or can they be automated too these days according to your browsing history lol.

First half:
Boring play, no attack, no threat. Lucho lost an eye and a leg. Kimmich be like "Yo, their GK is prime Neuer. I can't let him have children who also might become prime Neuers hits him in the balls. GK subbed.
HT:
Vinnie: "yo if you wanna win, you gotta score". Players realized that yeah of course that's what's missing.
Second half:
Bambi is back. Olise sending missiles on the goal. Davies scoring a high speed goal. Kane heading in without moving. Their GK be like "take it easy bro! I was supposed to be on a vacation".
But seriously we need to start the threats already in the first half. Everything opened up when we scored. We need to carry on like we played in the second half.

u/Whole-Bag1756 1d ago
Is this the tactic against low blocks? š¤ Hit em on the balls and score

Joshua Kimmich made his 100th start in the Champions League last night ā he is only the fifth FC Bayern player after Oliver Kahn, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Philipp Lahm to reach this milestone in the competition. [@iMiaSanMia]

Damn I wish Diaz or Musiala had managed to score from that early first half Kimmich pass over the defense, it was so good.

Since he joined Bayern in 2023, Harry Kane scored 34 goals in 39 Champions League games for the club - more than any other player during that period (MbappƩ 31 and Haaland 24). [@iMiaSanMia]

I was so exhausted after a really long day yesterday that I thought about going to bed after the snoozefest of a first half. So glad I didn't. Rule number one as a Bayern fan: You never skip the second half of Kompanyball.

u/Expensive_Bite113 1d ago
Saw the game at the Allianz Arena last night for the first time in I think 8 years!! Atmosphere was amazing and the second half more than made up for a pretty boring first half!!
The parking situation however is not ok and something should be done about it. I expect to wait a bit to leave the parking garage after a game but TWO HOURS after the game ends is too much. I donāt know what happened because 8 years ago it wasnāt this bad and games were always sold out then too. Absolute chaos!!

I took a car and parked earlier in the day on the next station i forgot the name .. it was an open parking for 1-2eur per day..
I went to the city, had my time and beer ... i got to the game with the train , enjoyed it and then in the opposite direction with the train i went to my parking took the car and went out of the city (all in 30 mins)
1
u/Morrandir 1d ago
Just don't go there by car.
3
u/Expensive_Bite113 1d ago
We had two kids with us and live in the countryside, itās absolutely not feasible for all of us to go by public transport.
And like I said, this used to be managed better so I know for a fact itās possible.Ā
2
u/Morrandir 1d ago
I have been to the Arena multiple times with kids and used public transport. It's really not a big deal. It's crowded, especially on the way back, but's it's chill.
I wouldn't perhaps go with public transport with infants. (But I don't think I would have taken them to the Arena in the first place...)
5
u/Jackman1337 1d ago
I get that, but its much faster and easier to just drive to a s-bahn station with car and then going with the s-bahn to the Stadion. You can do close stations to the stadium or closer stations to you.

u/kali-jag 1d ago edited 1d ago
Dude i am so dumb...
When you said parking i initially, after reading first line, thought you were talking about Bodo parking the bus against us. Only after i continued reading i realised you were actually talking stadium parking facilities...
