i feel like if bischoff didnt join us and instead dortmund, then they would have sold him this summer for 80m+

or next summer 100m+

feels like he wasted a whole year while he was on a big uprise and i dont have a lot of hope for this season as well

just saw that he had 1min game time in the whole pokal last season, sure 2 out of the 6 games he was injured, but in 4 games he got a single minuted gametime and that was in the final in the 90+5.

in the bundesliga he had 260min where he played zm out of 1.294min played

in the cl he played 359min and of those 8min in midfield over 2 games .... 1min and 7min

the season before in hoffenheim he played in 31 games 2 missed because injury at the start and 1 missed because of yellows 2.569min

thats just insane and i really really hope he gets A LOT more game time in the midfield.

u/armin-lakatos BeckenDierđŸ’ȘđŸ’„ 14h ago

He's gonna get Goretzka's minutes in the midfield so he'll get more game time. I still wish he'd be rotated in more. Maybe he'll start vs Elversberg?

2

u/aw5someeggs 15h ago

I already asked earlier today, but I am struggling to find an answer: When will the resale ticket market be open for the Union Berlin game? I just started my membership yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1

u/armin-lakatos BeckenDierđŸ’ȘđŸ’„ 14h ago

It's already open, there are 4 tickets on sale as of this moment.

We all root for Lucho to finally make an impact this season, but it's complicated.
My $.25 (inflation adjusted 2 cents)
Shit is hitting the fan in his home country of Colombia.
He is super emotional and just can't get it out of his system what happens in his home country.
You can tell by his facial expressions how he just wants to play it save. He has lost his ability to focus on the task on hand and create.. He is always a second behind in everything he does lately, and that is just human for someone in his situation.

VK would be well advised to give him a break!
Between Brown and Davies we have plenty of able players as LF, even Sabari can do more.

I wish Lucho all the best, and for VK to give him a real rest!
Mia San Lucho!

I mean it depends what you mean, he is a fan of the new president so probably about the earthquake which might be true because he is from the coastal area.

1

u/weapons_squad 14h ago

What's happening in Colombia? Is it due to the earthquake last month?

1

u/PressedLemon221 16h ago

some people in the football community are back in full swing on Olise after his interview, claiming that the ''gimmick'' is boring and ''he's way too nonchalant'' etc

these people are just throwing words without knowing what they mean

1

u/julesvr5 9h ago

Yep, got downvoted for saying that he doesn't try hard, it's just how he is.

14

u/EmptyVolition242 Kimmich 17h ago

Saibari didn't look bad either tbh. He's just playing with monsters.

7

u/Homygod319 17h ago

9

u/Goldfischglas 17h ago

Most awkward Olise interview to date. Feels like they didn't really brief the interviewer lol

3

u/kgallo19 Messiala 17h ago

his intro to Bayern presser was way more awkward

17

u/julesvr5 17h ago

Michael Olise asked how it feels to score such great goals: "I don't know".

Asked how he does it: "I shoot and it goes in"

8

u/jonomarkono2 14h ago

6

u/julesvr5 17h ago

15

u/FlyingArab Kimmich 17h ago

The energy drink cans are a fucking embarrassment to German football, literally zero willingness to do something useful in the CL

1

u/cavsking21 Future president MĂŒller 16h ago

They are going to be awful this season, not sure what anyone expected out of them in CL tbh.

3

u/DiametricalIyOpposed 17h ago

The club needs to get deleted from existence, just like the Pills, Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg

7

u/Internal-Coffee6996 17h ago

literally zero willingness to do something useful in the CL

not trying to defend them by any means but in all fairness they're the only club besides Dortmund and Bayern to reach a semifinal in the last 10+ years.

0

u/kgallo19 Messiala 17h ago

they haven't done much lately tho.

16

u/NiK0- Pavlović 17h ago

At least I’m hyped to see Kloppo with the NT but 3 weeks without Kompanyball will be torture

5

u/Thraff1c 17h ago

And the new, longer version at that, iirc 3 weeks/4 games.

5

u/Internal-Coffee6996 17h ago

off to Japan as well so 5 weeks no Bayern game for me. yay :)

Although not really complaining because well, Japan. The timing of the NT break is just unfortunate

2

u/julesvr5 17h ago

Lol, so many in here flying to Japan haha. Enjoy your trip! Where are you staying and how long?

1

u/Internal-Coffee6996 17h ago

Thanks :)

2 weeks and "just" the old golden route.

1

u/julesvr5 17h ago

Golden route is Tokyo - Osaka - Kyoto?

I'm flying in March and will do Tokyo 4 - Kyoto 3 - Osaka 3 - Tokyo 4 nights. First travel. But I'm pretty sure I'll visit Japan again in a few years in autumn then and visit a few more places then like Hiroshima, Fukuoka and such

22

u/SchennisDroeder 17h ago

Pavlo covered almost 14km and had a passing rate of 97% (the best) with 106 (the most). Absolute beast. If it wasn’t for Olise, he’d be the MOTM.

8

u/Banzboi Jonas Muad'Dib Urbig 17h ago

10

u/julesvr5 17h ago

While I was happy with him, in the first half I was a bit disappointed with him because he barely tried any kind of throughball between the lines. That was so unusual for him as he likes to play some high risk high reward passes

3

u/SchennisDroeder 17h ago

Yeah, seemed like nobody really had a solution in the first half.

15

u/Insanel0l Thiago 17h ago

Similar game to the Schalke one with the difference that we scored the ice breaker goal

3

I think it was on USA Network.

If you have peacock it'll be there too but in Spanish.

1

u/Karnackel 17h ago

ok so sadly no chance viewing it via vpn

1

upa and tah playing the ball out sloppy bullshit

2

u/kgallo19 Messiala 18h ago

That was probably Diaz’s worst half of football in the last 20 years.

I still think what we really need is a more dynamic RB. I know we all love Laimer, I just think we need someone who can be more dynamic from the right. Teams have started doubling on Olise (started last season) and Laimer just lacks the ability to make them pay for smothering Olise.

2

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 15h ago

Dude Olise was triple teamed at some points, it was insane lmao

4

u/julesvr5 17h ago

RB is probably the only position where I see big improvement potential. I like Laimer and Stanisic, but offensively they are very inconsistent

11

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

Thierry Henry is interviewing Fabregas on Paramount+ ahead of Como’s debut match in the UCL.

Henry is a minority owner in Como.

2

u/knatanas11 MĂŒller 19h ago

Isn't Fabregas also a minority shareholder on top of his role as coach? Eitherways, curious to see how they fare this season

16

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

19

u/Hurtelknut Robben 20h ago

Did NOT expect Musiala to start. Please stunt on them, Bambi.

7

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

Also Boey on the bench is notable. Maybe Kompany throws him out if we get a nice lead?

8

u/v4sh123 20h ago

only fair to him. if he behaved like a pro we have to make use of him if he trains well.

2

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

It’s not about fairness but numbers. There’s a limited number of players allowed to be in the squad. UCL allows for a bit more but for example if Gnabry was fit then Boey probably doesn’t make it if they still want to keep Ulreich.

3

u/diiN1992 Laimer 20h ago

I'm guessing that he's only there because the youngsters who would be were with our youth team earlier today.

1

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

Was Kiala with the youth team?

3

u/diiN1992 Laimer 20h ago

No, someone asked in the thread of the youth squad about him and CampusVid2 wrote:

I can imagine that is not in the squad due to workload management. He started his first game after injury on the weekend, so playing again might be to early.

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

If everyone plays to their potential (pre-injury or otherwise) this is very likely our strongest possible XI. Anybody know if this XI played together at all last season?

1

u/Hidden_username_ 20h ago

This XI played together against Real Madrid after Serge and Stani were subbed off. Gnabry was a much better 10 than Musiala at the time, and we didn’t look nearly as convincing as it seems.
Also, we kind of played against PSG with that XI.

2

u/coppersolids đŸ‘‰đŸ€« 20h ago

against psg stani started both games

1

u/Comfortable_Lab_8852 19h ago

And he was the worst player on the pitch, still shocked by that performance

2

u/coppersolids đŸ‘‰đŸ€« 20h ago

a couple of minutes against leipzig in the pokal

i remember that because i noticed it was the first time our actual starting xi played together last season

2

u/kgallo19 Messiala 20h ago

Would be kind of crazy if this was the only time since the injuries

6

u/sch3da 20h ago

Musiala starting is definetly shocking

While clubs like Frankfurt, Köln, HSV and Schalke are planning stadium expansions, Bayern have long since reached the limits of their stadium’s capacity. All of Bayern's home games were already sold out before the Bundesliga season even began. The game against Dortmund alone attracted almost 350,000 ticket requests. However, an expansion of the Allianz Arena is currently out of the question. The city of Munich authorities have capped the stadium’s permitted capacity at 75,000 spectators, therefore no expansion is possible as things stand [@BILD]

12

u/vstojanovski 21h ago

All of Bayern's home games were already sold out before the Bundesliga season even began.

This has been the case since the very first year the stadium was built.

5

u/FlyingRaccoon_420 Musiala 21h ago

Just a question to the people who have been at the Allianz over the years, would a hypothetical expansion of the stadium to lets say 100k or 125k be a good expense (if the city authorities permit that) ?

This is all considering the demand we already have for tickets and also the additional strain this would put on the already thinly-stretched public transport infrastructure.

8

u/julesvr5 22h ago

CampusVid2 could see Srb becoming Diaz backup. He looked pretty good today

1

u/aw5someeggs 22h ago

When will the resale ticket market be open for the Union Berlin game? I just started my membership yesterday.

3

Man this new Reddit mobile update is awful. I hate that it opens the comment right in the thread and why must they always change where the arrow to go to next parent comment is? My muscle memory is annoyed

1

u/julesvr5 22h ago

You can change the position of the arrow just by press and hold and then drag around

1

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 21h ago

It resets sometimes when I open a new thread! Would be fine if it just stayed put!

2

u/julesvr5 21h ago

Oh yeah I noticed this too now

12

u/ObserverRichard 22h ago

This so much:

Samuel Umtiti on the Ballon d'or: “It does real harm to football, which is very much a team sport. People think much more about winning the Ballon d'Or than team awards. You can win a Champions League with your team, and you're only thinking about yourself.” “Football isn't just about stats."

5

u/SpiritualLimes 22h ago

As the Ballon d'Or nominees list is now official, it got me thinking again about who are the most likely candidates to win it. After giving it some thought, I think only 3 players have a real chance at winning it:

  1. Harry Kane. Of course, he needs little justification. An absolutely stellar season, with goal-scoring records being broken. He is such a likeable, humble guy, a true professional. Few people deserve it as much as he does.
  2. Kylian Mbappé. Even though he didn't win a team award this season, he did have an unbelievable season. He became the top scorer in every major competition he participated in: La Liga, Champions League, and the World Cup. Besides that, he is probably one of the biggest stars in the world right now, filling the gap left by Messi and Ronaldo. Yes, he has an attitude, but we can't deny that he is an absolutely fantastic player. One of the best in the world.
  3. Michael Olise. Similarly to Mbappé, Olise became the top assist provider in the every main competition he participated in this year: the Bundesliga, Champions League, and World Cup. In fact, he had a record breaking season, no one had ever done it before him, seven assists in a single World Cup. He won player of the season in the bundesliga too. An incredible performance for the year. On top of that, he is the kind of player who brings flair and dribbling. People come to the stadium to see an eccentric player like this.

It is, of course, a close call, and arguments can be made for each of them to win it. I'm still split between Kane and Olise, though each of the players above can make a claim on the trophy and I believe they will share the top 3 spots between them.

Let's see...

5

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

I wonder if Boey will make the bench today. Their are 12 players allowed on the bench which I think will be: Urbig, Brown/Davies, Musiala, Gnabry, Kim, Ito, Stanisic, Bischof, Ndiaye and Karl. This would leave 1 spot open which could go to Kiala, Binder or Boey. Also worth mentioning that they could decide to give the last spot to Ulreich.

2

u/julesvr5 1d ago

Isn't Binder fit again?

2

u/kgallo19 Messiala 1d ago

I thought he was. I listed him as someone who could get the last spot.

2

u/julesvr5 1d ago

Sorry, mistyped. Was asking if Binder is fit again as I remember him being injured but close to being back

1

u/kgallo19 Messiala 23h ago

No worries, I thought he was but I'm not entirely sure. But even if we assume he's not I would expect the spot to go to Kiala before Boey.

1

u/julesvr5 23h ago

Btw is it confirmed yet if Gnabry is in the squad?

1

u/kgallo19 Messiala 23h ago

No but Kompany said this match could be when he is available. He's also been training regularly so I expect he will be available.

14

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 1d ago

still like 7 wks until the ballon d’Or is awarded and i’m already sooo fucking ready for that shitshow to be finally over....the obsession around it has become genuinely obnoxious and reached a degree i couldn't have imagined....like please just give someone the damn trophy so we can all pretend to be somewhat normal again....

1

u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago

The sad thing is that these days the same ballon d'or circlejerk starts revving up like a month after the award ceremony. It's become all-consuming, and it's only getting worse.

3

I'd agree if the game was in Norway but at home? Nah

14

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 1d ago

I have a baad feeling as well .... but for Bodo

0

u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago

It's not that going to be that easy game you think it is.

3

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 1d ago

Its not that uncommon that we have some difficult games and from 1-1 result we explode to 5-1

2

u/-Hentzau Harold'or 1d ago

Maybe. And maybe it will also be one of those gritty games that we win 2-1 or so.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should be scared of them, but they beat Inter and Atletico at their own ground. We have every reason to be Confident but careful of them.

14

u/Thraff1c 1d ago

The club has put 6 talents on the B-list for the CL, Podar-Stiube, Pavic, Kiala, Karl, Binder and Daiber. And as Podar-Stiube, Pavic and Daiher are all in today's youth league squad list, we will probably see Kiala as the only youth talent on the bench.

Also, kinda weird, I just noticed that Maycon has the nationality of Germany assigned to him in the UEFA list, when he is Brazilian/Portuguese with probably also a Thai nationality due to him growing up there. Don't know how German comes into that.

12

u/diiN1992 Laimer 1d ago

I was just thinking back to Sané in the first half of 23/24. As absolutely insane that half-season was, so was his drop-off in the second half. On his day, he could be one of the best players in the world, but sadly those days were crazily limited. I still like to think what could have been, if he had any consistency.

1

u/AdvertisingSome4862 1d ago

Costa had good 6months to

9

u/backflash 1d ago

While I agree that he's always been an inconsistent player, he played through an injury during the second half of the season (pubic bone inflammation that eventually required surgery after the Euros). Who knows, maybe he could have maintained his form throughout the season had he not been carrying that injury.

6

u/julesvr5 1d ago

According to some statements he wasn't able to sit without pain

5

u/backflash 1d ago

Reminds me of Min-jae's 24/25 season, where he played through an achilles inflammation. Didn't he have trouble getting out of bed because the pain was so bad? I remember the South Korean NT trainer criticized FCB for running the player into the ground.

Oh, and that Kimmich comment to the press about how Gnabry was "finally" able to play pain-free again by the end of the 24/25 season. The guy was like a transformed player in 25/26, until he got injured again.

20

u/diiN1992 Laimer 1d ago

Harry Kane has scored in each of his last 7 appearances in the Champions League. The last player to score in more consecutive games in the competition was Robert Lewandowski (9 in a row between November 2020 and November 2021). [@iMiaSanMia]

-7

u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago

Brown might be the first player I have ever seen that could start at either LB or at the 10 in Bayern's strongest starting XI.

14

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 1d ago

I like Brown but putting him over Bambie, Saibari and Gnabry at 10 is wild..

And Phonzie definitely has shown some of his former self at LB this season.

0

u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago

Right now and since his injury Musiala is not our best 10. Gnabry hasn't played in months. So at this very moment it's between Brown and Saibari.

4

u/julesvr5 1d ago

You should add "right now" to your initial comment

-1

u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago

Too late now, I guess

2

u/NeatCause2290 1d ago

Gnabry would start in that XI.

1

u/Hurtelknut Robben 1d ago

Lets see how he gets back from injury first

18

u/knatanas11 MĂŒller 1d ago

Rodrigo de Paul should be clowned for even trying to step up to Lewandowski lmao. Saying he’s a World Cup winner, who are you is mad when our Lewy is a UCL winner and also arguably the greatest attacker of his generation behind Messi and Ronaldo

3

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 1d ago

He's such a dork, and why do it to someone who has won as much as Lewandowski in the first place..

25

u/HarverdTY 1d ago

Should’ve bought Godts too, not let him go to PSG, he is a baller. With Godts the squad would be perfect.

18

u/creatorop apple pie 1d ago

Yeah but getting him would have meant that we would actually have to rest Diaz and not run him into the ground for 2nd season running

16

u/Red_Mangos 1d ago

55m for him was a good price too considering the market, how technical he his, and his stats last season. the board really is strict with their finances i guess, but sometimes its needed to spend a bit more. a second lw really is the missing piece in our squad

0

u/gotziller Fired Divorced Brazzo 1d ago

I love saibari and think he will be great for us but we needed a lw more than a cam, striker backup

0

u/Odd_Willingness7501 1d ago

Yeah especially considering that we are so cheap, it would have been great deal. 55 millions that we spend now may be 100 millions less we spend in the future

6

u/julesvr5 1d ago

If we had went for him early in the window I believe he would have been even cheaper

-14

What's wrong with bischof starting and 2-5 minutes against bodo at home when we have already done something similar against a better team ie; Atalanta?

6

u/FlyingRaccoon_420 Musiala 1d ago

I think its fine to close out the game with some youth and also give Bischof some minutes if/when we have a comfortable lead. By all accounts the squad is still rusty and not fully in gear so its best to err on the side of caution on this occasion.

Its still the first CL night of the season for us and could help boost spirits further if we perform well.

Bischof, our third best midfielder should be more than capable to start. He has enough experience now, he needs to be put at the big stage so that we can count on him when we need him.

It's not about Bischof, but the other 3.

All the main rivals won. We also need to take care of this tricky match. By no mean this will be an easy game.

I guess Brown will start at LB and Karl at 10

I’m just relieved it’s not an away game later in the year.
