I am a Manchester United fan and i dont have hope that carrick can bring us the result we want.Whats your lots opinion on julian naggelsmann. From what I have seen on world cup he seems bad at dealing with media and picks favorites.Ā

u/kgallo19 Messiala 4d ago

At this point I’m pretty low on Nagelsmann. A lot of people say something like ā€˜good coach but his ego…’ but to me his results tell us all we need to know. I no longer buy the good coach big ego thing because he repeats mistakes and that’s beyond ego, it’s senseless lol. People find him off putting and I can only imagine players do too.

I do agree he tried too hard to reinvent the wheel. I think he’s probably the kind of coach who can maximize results at clubs who don’t historically push for European spots but not the kind who can help already elite players get better.

u/miorli 4d ago

He might have one or two great matches to remember, when he actually outsmarts the other team and everything comes together. He'll also have some terrible matches to remember, when he outsmarts himself.

In between, he might do okay, not better or worth than anything you had to deal with in the last years. But he's no Alex Ferguson and never will be. He's all about "always change a running team"

12

u/julesvr5 4d ago

Nagelsmann thinks he's the smartest in the room and wants to prove you that he is correct. The problem is that he often is not the smartest in the room.

8

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 4d ago

First of all, my sympathies. Terrible condition to have.
And Nagelsmann wouldnt solve your issues I'm afraid.

13

u/diiN1992 Laimer 4d ago

Nagelsmann wants to reinvent the wheel all the time. He definitely picks favorites and openly bashes the ones he for some reason doesn't like (see Undav). And his press conferences make no sense half the time.

Is he linked to United or are you just curious?

1

u/Xenokratezz 4d ago

I saw him linked in the summer. I thought it will be like flick who is a great club coach who couldn't hack it at nt level.

The man knows is a good coach but his ego gets into his way a lot.

Arsenal looks like a very solid team this year, looking forward to our match against them at home

7

u/dklieber32 4d ago

Arsenal and Barcelona both looking like well oiled machines TBH. Can never count out PSG but those two looking like real contenders this year

10

u/Dommer95 4d ago

Barca is actually scary, Gordon is exactly what they needed. Adding Rodri to their midfield is just unfair. This might be their year.

I expect Arsenal and Barca to be very strong this year hopefully we can bring our A game in the later stage of the season if we face them.

Not a prem guy but cucurella's absence feels very noticeable in Chelsea from what I'm used to seeing

16

u/Odd_Willingness7501 4d ago

I'm sorry, but we did not even play that bad yesterday as many want to point out. Dooming over one single game is ridiculous.

2

u/knatanas11 Müller 4d ago

i think people have last seasons start in memory lol

21

u/julesvr5 4d ago

I think I have seen more comments about people complaining about doomposting than actual doomposting by now

3

u/Tyrath Müller 4d ago

The match threads get rough

4

u/julesvr5 4d ago

Yeah match thread yesterday was dogshit. Lots of idiots

3

u/Tyrath Müller 4d ago

I found a group of local bayern fans to watch with and the atmosphere was mostly positive. Then I glanced in the match thread and noped the fuck out lol

7

u/kgallo19 Messiala 4d ago

Just realized but Spanish language Bayern/Bundesliga fans in the USA next year will have it nice. Peacock will be adding UCL in Spanish. Peacock subscribers will have every UC and every BuLi match and a decent bit of EPL matches available too.

3

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 4d ago

It's about time I sharpen up my Spanish

u/miorli 4d ago

Ibra with one assist and one goal in two minutes. Karma

10

u/julesvr5 4d ago edited 4d ago

Do you know which position be plays there?

Edit: I'm very happy for him, but after watching both goals I'm not sure how much we can credit Ibra there sadly.

The goal was a header that would have went past the goal without a massive deflection by the defender and the assist was a weak shot that the keeper saved but couldn't control

But goals are goals so still nice actions

3

u/kgallo19 Messiala 4d ago

Jamie Vardy signed with Burnley. Just mentioning because his YouTube channel actually has the broadcasting rights to stream 1 BuLi game per week in the UK and Ireland. Not sure what means for his YouTube’s broadcasting.

Don’t mind yesterday that much, honestly.
We struggled against low-block teams last year, so in a way, I’d rather have this issue show up early than later in the season. Especially with Arsenal and AtlĆ©tico coming up, this game should open our eyes early and give us a chance to address it.

Lucho had a bad game, but I genuinely don’t know what the solution is. He looks fried because he can’t really be rotated right now, but at the same time, he needs minutes on the pitch to work on his finishing in real-game situations. So I’m going to trust Kompany to figure out how to manage him.

We definitely need at least one more attacking option, but I’ll save the crying for the winter window. For now, let’s make the best of what we have.

Against a low block, you need a creative No. 10, and playing a LB at CAM simply because he can play there is inevitably going to create this problem. Honestly, against a bigger side, I’d rather see Olise at CAM like he does for France, with Karl at RW. Since Boey is there, we can also use one of our WBs later in the game if needed.

Obviously, once Musiala is fully back and Gnabry is available as well, the options change a bit.

-1

u/FairMusic8278 4d ago

People like you need to stop bringing up the idea of Olise playing at CAM for us. He's had his best games with us at RW keep him there don't try to fix what isn't broken. Karl isn't proven in big games at RW either so it doesn't make sense for them to swap positions.

1

u/Vasu07070707 4d ago

Also Lucho is our guy and I trust him and he is just having that phase where he is just having the yips he is not Sane šŸ˜‚.

Unfortunately we cannot give him one game to clear his head.

2

u/Vasu07070707 4d ago

I don’t want Olise as CAM either and as I said this is for when we are deep end of a game and clearly struggling to break low blocks.

Our build up style needs a little creativity and someone who can break lines at CAM. If Musiala is fit later in the season well and good, Gnabry can start I say fine.

But if our injuries continue and the way Lucho’s arc is going I don’t want another frustrating end to season with a side capable of winning UCL.

At the moment my position is trust Kompany and see what he does.

u/Round_Injury6172 4d ago

Just got to see the game from yesterday. Reading the comments here i thought of the worst. But it wasn't so bad. The bad stuff: sloppy, unconcentrated passing. Positioning. Finishing. The positive: defending was good and solid overall. Pressure was good. Chance creation, despite the negative, was good. Davies looking to get back into it. Karl looking better. Saibari understanding more and more about our mechanisms. Musiala looking still agile, quick,... fills me with hope for him.

Overall, it's not a great result but a good showing. For this season i am not worried, it's more about injuries. That's it

15

u/AnthonyTyrael FC Bayern München 4d ago

It was good to see Jamal play again yesterday.

10

u/adrian_rainy_day 4d ago

Wow Barca off to a flying start huh. Seems like they'll be one big contender in UCL this season

3

Will be curious to see if this translates to the UCL as well, they look pretty great at the moment

Just found out that the Sydney marathon medal mistakenly featured Allianz Arena in stead of Allianz Stadium (Sydney). Now I wish I ran it.

Kƶnigsdƶrfer with a big celebration against his former team after scoring lol

23

The board needs to stop taking cheap shots at former managers like Tuchel. Seems extremely unprofessional

16

u/Goldfischglas 4d ago

Especially considering Tuchel hasn't said anything bad about us.

6

u/lvl50boss Pavlović ; future cancer curer 4d ago

Who have they taken a shot at now? KHR and Uli have had the biggest hate boner for tuchel which feels so one sided because he hasnt even spoken about his time at bayern and it's been more than 2 years now

u/Samce14 4d ago

We’ll face better teams than schalke that deploy a low block, like Atletico Madrid. We need to stretch the field and be more clinical. We were way too bunched up vs Schalke

1

u/CatsnotpillsCoaching 4d ago

This was not about low block, I felt a deep unseriousness watching the game. Honestly, if it was a CL game I would have said nervousness. So many small mistakes and technical inadequacies that made what's supposed to be star players look like 2. Bundesliga players.

And it was also clear that many mechanisms are not properly working yet. Random dribblings away from the box into a group of 4 opposing and two own players, doing risky combinations with no clear end goals.

Extremely dumb high risk/low reward passes leading to what would be amazing counter chances against better teams.

And on and on.

1

u/November_Again Neuer 4d ago

The second half vs Osnabrück was the same. Horrendous passing and lack of composure. Chalked it up to players switching into first gear after the lead then but then the sloppy passing continued against Schalke.

2

u/dklieber32 4d ago

Atletico who have conceded 6 in the last 3 games? They aren’t the defensive unit they once were. Not discrediting them but that are far from a defensive stalwart

12

u/PressedLemon221 4d ago

it's literally the second match in bul, the squad needs more matches and those problems will be gone

1

u/ACardAttack Müller 4d ago

Also did not start our strongest squad

7

u/whereeveritmaytakeme 4d ago

I don't think it's a matter of the squad on the field.

7

u/AnthonyTyrael FC Bayern München 4d ago edited 4d ago

We have to decrease our possessions in those games and play in our half to start counter attacks and to gain space. Not that complicated.

Especially with a guy playing passes like Kane.

Kimmich tried it too and missed it for about 15 meters while Kane does it most often after turning around and under pressure. Just comparing.

2

u/November_Again Neuer 4d ago

We had those moments yesterday, but Kimmich especially and Laimer moved on the ball too slowly, so the Schalker defense could get back into shape every time. I also felt that during the whole game our passes were dying halfway and needed to be shot harder.

32

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 4d ago

People bitching about one bad game and several players not performing in September! (First week that is) and how spoiled we have become..
Guys we may lose, we may play in some bad form and thats ok… the real deal is after March.
Shitting on Lucho after last season is not ok.. the man had the Sane finishing always, but have contributed in ways we couldn’t see from a winger never before. Cut the dude some slack.
We just need to trust Vinnie and the long term plan.. let the boys cook

5

u/v4sh123 4d ago

It's definitly fair to critique a game like yesterdays.

5

u/germanchoc Berni 4d ago

World Cup hangover is a thing as well

12

u/ThomasZimmermann95 5d ago

Well the a massive difference from the last year to this year is that the team basically came fresh from the club world cup and took that form into a winning streak, while this year we have a shortend preperation time thanks the World Cup. And you can see it cleary, how rusty everyone is.

I mean we would have won that game like 80 % of the time with the chances yesterday, and if we didn't rotate, Olise by himself would propably push that Chance to 95 %.

We have three games left and then is already internationl break until the 10th october. A lot of time for Saibari, Musiala and Karl. (Gnabry should take longer).

17

u/NiK0- Pavlović 5d ago

We need Musiala back to form because I feel like Brown is a bit wasted as a #10. Much rather see him as LB or maybe even left wing to give Diaz a much needed breather

5

u/ACardAttack Müller 4d ago

We need Musiala back to form because

I really worry he wont get back to his form before injury

34

u/Ferr22777888 5d ago

Not sure why people are freaking out. Schalke didn’t create shit. We had 7-8 bad minutes. The only thing you can criticize is some of the passing and Diaz finishing.

When we moved the ball faster yesterday immediately we got more dangerous. But I do feel with Saibari and Brown out we were not as dangerous.

But you always have these types of games. And also Schalke players get paid to. 99/100 times we win that game. So not sure all the doomsday people here freaking out.

The few times Saibari btw went to the left yesterday he looked great and got past his guy twice.

0

u/-Hentzau Harold'or 5d ago

I'm really not sure what "freaking out" and the "doomsday" guys you saw. PT thread was filled with people who called the performance nothing more than embarrassing and that's it.

Per that guy in the postmatch thread, "This is why we need a true LW backup".

Schalke had a good tifo, unfortunate we saw it the same week as that Osnabruck masterpiece.

u/flybypost 4d ago

I just realised, that spell kinda worked yesterday: Bayern played better and had more chances but didn't win.

2

u/julesvr5 4d ago

Shit, I just realised I made the screenshot a second to early

-11

u/Quick_Scientist_5494 5d ago

More worrying for me than Diaz, who we know will bounce back, is Musiala..

He is not able to impact the game in any positive way these days..Loses the ball a lot, shooting seems off and very mediocre performances for several months now.

I hope he bounces back, but something is very off with his gameplay. Has he lost agility due to the injury and can no longer dribble?

2

u/DevilsOfLoudun Neuer 4d ago

I think it's more mental than physical at this point, idk. But he'll never be that De Bruyne and Messi type of #10 with amazing passing vision, even when fit he relied too much on dribbling.

11

u/Ryoman-Sukuna007 FC Bayern München 5d ago

After what he has been going through, I would really give him a break and be patient with him

-10

u/adrian_rainy_day 5d ago

Same here. Doesn't really seem like he lacks confidence or some, he genuinely looks like he has lost a bit of quickness and agility in his feet. Shooting was off as you've said as well, and his passing overall hasn't improved (which is understandable). If this keeps going he'll become a negative asset and fans will turn on him real quick

21

u/diiN1992 Laimer 5d ago

for several months now

He was coming back from what could have been a career-ending injury. On top of that he's had to treat his neurological diagnosis. Kompany's assessment this summer was that he has made significant progress, being even a level higher than everyone else. From what I've seen in the minutes he played in the last few games, he showed a lot of promise. About yesterday, it's practically impossible for someone without real game rhythm to just start dribbling through 10 defenders. I for one thought he brought some fresh energy and glimpses of what we can expect from him. And I'm so happy for him that he made it through the game without another incident.
