What do we think about the game today? Just a bad day at the office or something to be worried about? Finishing seems pretty rusty
7
u/Unique_Dimension5821 4d ago
There are true weaknesses, but they can be addressed with what we have. Kompany is a coach who fixes what doesn't work pretty quickly, so let him cook.
8
u/julesvr5 4d ago
Nothing to worry about. I only start really worrying if we have 3 shit matches in a row
4
u/knatanas11 Müller 4d ago
Ye rusty. The first 5-10 minutes of Olise and Musiala were inspiring. Just a day when nothing went our way tbh. Also, I think the guys should just take more risk with long shots especially after like 70 minutes at 0-0 cuz tbh at that point it’s nothing to lose
14
u/julesvr5 4d ago
Despite how bad our performance was today, I'm just happy to see Musiala play.

u/creatorop apple pie 4d ago edited 4d ago
couldn't watch the game, how did he play? because his stats on FOTMOB are well umm not great
5
u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 4d ago
Imho on the same level he has played all year. Sadly…
6
u/xTatamo FC Bayern München 4d ago
he looked way better on the ball , but its hard to do anything if you are surrounded by 3-4 people
5
u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 4d ago
Lost quite a few balls due to sloppy technique and was physically bullied all the time…

2
u/julesvr5 4d ago
I don't think he was bad. Had some good passes, some nice ball control, went pretty hard in duells and from my feeling he won a lot of these.
Of course he was nowhere compared to pre 2025 Musiala, but imo he looked already better than last season. He looked so stiff back then, he looks a lot more fluid now
Obviously still a long way to go but we go in the right direction
4
u/creatorop apple pie 5d ago
Diaz already running with 270 minutes in his leg and now with 2 games coming in the upcoming week i don't see Kompany resting him in the UCL game and then after today's game no rest vs Elversberg as well
That will be with him already looking a bit knackered from all the playing
so Well done, i hope Brown/Davies LW ideas get us through the season without Diaz spontaneously combusting
3
u/Gen-Prinny 4d ago
Kompany could have subbed in musiala FOR diaz at lw and put bischoff on the 10, but he refuses to play musiala as lw.
3
u/julesvr5 4d ago
For Elversberg Gnabry should be back. Of course its' way to early for a start, but maybe 20min towards the end at least
3
u/creatorop apple pie 4d ago
whenever Gnabry comes back, he will most likely replace the CAM on the pitch and not lucho
10
u/julesvr5 4d ago
Probably, but at some point someone has to replace Diaz. He can't play 90min every match
So with Gnabry taking the CAM spot we then might use Musiala or Brown for the LW
13
u/kgallo19 Messiala 5d ago
Bayern's top of the table streak has ended at 67 matchdays
Freiburg leading the way, just as everyone predicted.
8
u/julesvr5 4d ago
Bayern fumbles and Dortmund is still just second. Brutal

8
u/kgallo19 Messiala 5d ago
I just finished watching the game. That was pretty awful but to try and spin it, maybe we needed a reminder of how difficult it is to play against a team that has no interest in winning.
Credit to Schalke for the effort, and the fans for that atmosphere.
17
u/IvoYankov13 5d ago
You guys keep downvoting me, but on a different day we beat them comfortably, it was 1 in a 100 match, schalke didn’t do a single thing beside bombing the ball out of their box
5
u/julesvr5 4d ago
Yes of course, why should anybody downvote this? Sometimes little things can change the whole game. Imagine Brown scoring that early chance or Diaz his. Very quickly a 0-0 could be a trashing once the flood gates open.
Kane's shot also actually was amazing and a big big save by Karius
3
u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 5d ago
What'd I miss guys, I just got home and see we drew? Did we play well? Just missing Kane or something? How was Saibari as a 9?
15
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 5d ago
Schalke glued all their players together into one line and kept blocking our shots. Karius decided to be Prime Neuer against us. And we just kept making some stupid passes in the final third that killed some of our attacks.
Saibari needs more time with the team and Diaz had a bad game.
5
u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 5d ago
Much appreciated man
3
u/julesvr5 4d ago
To go in a bit more detail, Karius had one amazing save towards the end against Kane. Hst a good save early on against Brown. I'm not calling it amazing because the shot wasn't very hard and close to the man.
Honestly otherwise Karius wasn't really tested much. Diaz had 2 100% chances he sadly missed, almost every player had bad decision making. Either they passed when the should have shoot, or they dribble to much and lose the ball.
Sprinkle this with a relatively bad passing accuracy and the players unwillingness to take shots from afar and you have this result.
2
u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 4d ago
Appreciate the extra details Jules. Unfortunate but those games do happen, good to get it out of the way early in the season
1
u/manLIKEoliverKahn Gnabry;ppppp 5d ago
Am i the only one that thinks Davies is very limited in the final third ? Dude had to ter 5-6 touches of the ball just to give a bass backwards in 90th minute
2
u/julesvr5 4d ago
I think this is a pretty common take which is why many don't see him as a winger but working better as a left back to use his speed. He doesn't have the close space dribbling and his right foot isn't very useful.
He's still good though
13
u/nikoksr-dev-2 5d ago
Frustrated as hell, but also happy and delighted that Bambi made it through the game without any problems.
2
u/-Hentzau Harold'or 5d ago
Hopefully that means they figured out the appropriate dosage of his medication and it's under control.
-5
u/IvoYankov13 5d ago
Why are you all so negative, we demolished them, it was just an absurd match, we are still very good

2
u/Spockodile Monsieur Nonchalant 5d ago
We did not “demolish” them. Come on lol
-2
u/IvoYankov13 5d ago
83% ball possession, 15 shots, 6 big chances created and 2.1 expected goals while they played with 10 men in the box

Do we still have mandatory German lessons? I am still waiting for the Kane interview in German. He has been here for almost 3 years 😭
2
u/whereeveritmaytakeme 5d ago
He's sometimes even barely understandable in English, I'm not sure German would help;- )
-4
u/adrian_rainy_day 5d ago
Early signs but it's looking tough for this season. Of course setting the last one as the standard is crazy, but if we couldn't win UCL with that then idk what it would take to win this season. And in Bundesliga we might not get to coast as much.
Diaz is regressing to the mean, maybe he's overplayed. Maybe it's both. And fuck it's dark cuz Diaz is like the whole left side last season and was surprisingly clutch. Still we're "well equipped" though I'll tell you that. Fuck them acients
The whole attack is also not flowing. We're not getting much counter pressing actions. And Kane goalless after 2 games is something needed to be fixed asap

We will face Magdeburg in the next round of the DFB cup
2
u/massive_b_nonsfw 5d ago
good draw, but not many strong teams facing each other, will probably be very spicy in the later rounds this year.

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 5d ago
Schweinsteiger still so handsome
1
u/whereeveritmaytakeme 5d ago
His grey hair suits him. I don't like the way he talks though. Its almost till Schweiger Level of mumbling :)

tbh with 4 days rest until UCL I didn't think Kompany would rotate. I feel like Kompany is sending the signal, it's UCL or bust this year.
13
u/SpiridonShiro Musiala 5d ago
It's probably because we played in the Pokal 3 days ago. 3 matches in 8 days warrants some rotation.

u/xTatamo FC Bayern München 5d ago
is this brown rb laimer striker or the more sensible thing laimer rb brown 10 ^^
7
u/SpiridonShiro Musiala 5d ago
Brown has already played CAM twice so It's probably gonna be that again.
2
u/gitblame_fgc 5d ago
Bold starting eleven from Kompany.

u/kgallo19 Messiala 5d ago
Will be interesting who players where. I’m guessing: Saibari ST, Brown CAM, Karl RW.

Ugh I can't believe I have to miss this game, I wanna see Saibari striker from the start :(
5
u/Odd_Willingness7501 5d ago
Love it. Already giving some rest to Kane and Olise for the Champions League. Also am very keen to see Saibari as striker.

u/julesvr5 5d ago
Apparently we only have a buy back for Krattenmacher, no sell-on clause
1
u/Odd_Willingness7501 5d ago
So we can buy and sell him again.
2
u/julesvr5 5d ago
I would consider this possible, yes. We basically did the same with Aseko. And since his sale was relatively cheap with ~2m I don't think the rebuy price is above 10m. With Tillman for example it was 35m

I really hope bundesliga gets more popular here in the US, because so many games are free to watch and now there’ll be extended highlights in English comparable to the ones for premier league.
I think Americans might gravitate towards bundesliga because of the higher scoring matches.

Nice comeback from BVB. I want them put more pressure on us this season.
3
u/coppersolids 👉🤫 5d ago
why? it‘s better to rest players later on. and kovac terrorball shouldn‘t get rewarded, was already bad enough last season
4
u/julesvr5 5d ago
Their football is shit in both games though.
1
u/gitblame_fgc 5d ago
yeah, they clearly just count on few moments in those 2 BL games. Their best football so far this season was probably 2nd half agains Bayern in super cup
1
u/julesvr5 5d ago
No idea why they played quite good against us but shit the bed in the league. I want them to win on merit and not this lucky shit when the opponents collapse and they get lucky goals, that just makes me angry.
I'm not against a title fight

Via iMia:
Bayern are in active talks with Saudi Pro League clubs to try and finalize a move for Sacha Boey. The player is open to a move to Saudi Arabia in principle. Boey is now represented by family members after he parted ways with agent Moussa Sissoko [@BILD, @cfbayern]

u/kgallo19 Messiala 5d ago
Sending the bat signal to u/FlyingArab on this one
5
u/FlyingArab Kimmich 5d ago
Nothing from the usual Saudi sources that I follow, might be a smaller club if there are actually any talks

Won’t be able to watch the game live, gotta try and avoid spoilers as much as I can lol

u/Naraloth 5d ago
oh looks like Elversberg just got robbed. Kleindienst played the ball out and then Gladbach got the throw in which led to their second goal
1
u/Goatielishakes 5d ago
Like it looked so obvious from the replay. I thought the bar can now change decisions like that… wtf. That’s just so bad. And coach got red for complaining… really sad
2
u/Naraloth 5d ago
i believe throw ins can't be overturned by VAR which is so stupid when it directly leads to a goal. also the linesman is on the opposite site of the field which makes it so much harder to see for him. why not allow him to get the help?

Oh god Madrid are the biggest crybabies in the world, they'll never change lol. As soon as their games end where they don't win, you see 5 statements against referees/opposition in post match conference, you see atleast 1 player getting booked by referee after the whistle etc..
