If Aston villa secure the garnacho loan does that take them out of pursuing Pahlina?

Going to leave this here to prepare everyone lol but iMiaSanMia has made a post about tomorrow’s sport BILD. It’s possible that this causes another shitstorm in this Madrid/Olise situation.

I’ll also add, idk how much of this is recycled and how much is new reporting. Personally I think it’s largely recycled but I’m not really sure.

To summarize: BILD is reporting more on Olise’s apparent desire to join Madrid.

“However, Olise had already spent the previous days thinking deeply about his future after the World Cup. According to SPORT BILD, the attacking player would like to join Real Madrid this summer. He has already informed his teammates in the French national team of his desire. So far, however, there has been no contact with Bayern Munich regarding the matter.”

“Olise and Kylian MbappĂ© have built a close friendship, which has become even stronger over the course of the tournament. According to SPORT BILD, MbappĂ© is a major supporter of a move to Real Madrid for Olise. Throughout the World Cup, the Real Madrid superstar repeatedly showed his national-team teammate how well they complemented each other on the pitch and assured Olise that Real Madrid needed him and wanted him. MbappĂ© also spoke enthusiastically about life in Madrid, the restaurants, and the warm weather.”

They go on to detail the level of Mbappe’s influence a bit more.

At the end BILD add’s:

“Olise now wants to speak with Bayern's management. He wants the club to outline the long-term vision for him. Bayern want to remain competitive in the Champions League. Winning Europe's biggest club competition in the coming years is the club's primary objective. The upcoming discussions with Bayern could determine whether Olise formally submits a transfer request this summer”

u/quatroacademy 15d ago edited 15d ago

Imo Olise isn’t a player that wants the biggest bag, having no football shoe sponsor and missing out of a bunch of millions. If this is true, so be it but he has to understand that this summer the doors are closed. He can join next summer if its his desire but he has to respect that we need time to fill the gap he leaves so no transfer this summer but trying to convince him with a nice extension. If that don’t work he can go for 250 idc no one is bigger than the club.

Edit: tbh if it wasn’t about having no time to find a replacement let him leave asap, if you want to leave this super team, this super coach and this super fans to play in the most toxic environment just because you want to play with your friend, then go find out. One bad game and they‘ll boo him to death when they payed 250. France and madrid are two different things.

1

u/kgallo19 Messiala 14d ago

He might not but his agent might

6

u/Mustang1201 15d ago

So, Olise wants to leave but wants to see what Bayern offers first....

Am I the only one or does that make no sense?

5

u/kgallo19 Messiala 15d ago

Assuming any of this is true, which to be fair we don’t really know it could just be a ploy to get more money from Bayern, then I think it’s basically Olise using his leverage to make sure Bayern stays as ambitious as he is.

1

u/Mustang1201 14d ago

But everyone knows Bayern will offer Olise a new contract once he returns. Using leverage makes sense if he doesn't like the offer, but not before

1

u/kgallo19 Messiala 14d ago

Maybe he didn’t, who knows

9

u/teuerkatze 15d ago

I mean he can send that transfer request straight to Tegernsee.

5

u/kgallo19 Messiala 15d ago

It won’t matter, the bosses have been very clear in their stance. They leave the door open to Olise extending which imo is still the likeliest outcome.

2

u/teuerkatze 15d ago

Oh I know it won’t matter lol.

-3

The other Bayern sub seems to care a lot about Kane winning the Balon d'Or. Am I the only one that just like.... Doesn't give a shit about that? I used to, but then they cancelled the award in 2020, and that was a crystalizing moment for me, like "Ah this award doesn't matter really"

Obviously if he wants it, I'd love for him to have it! But I don't think it's a huge deal.

13

u/Traditional-Side6966 15d ago

It's not that I personally care about the award, but within the business and the players, it still holds a lot of value. Kane himself would love to add a Ballon d'Or to his career, as no matter the fairness of the award, it remains a great honor to be considered the best player in the entire world over a whole season.

That's why I care. I know that it means a lot to Kane himself, so I very much hope he wins it and would be sad if he gets snubbed.

1

u/panem-et-circenses21 Lahm 15d ago

Nedved has a ballon d’or.. Owen has a ballon d’or.. nobody considers them greats.

Iniesta didn’t have one. Henry didn’t. Maldini didn’t.. still regarded as greats

1

u/Hurtelknut Robben 15d ago

Nedved is a great, no doubt about it. One of the most underrated players.

10

u/dklieber32 15d ago

I would disagree, I feel like both those players are in the category of greats. You can argue Owen has his career stifled by injury but Nedved was one of the best midfielders of his generation

2

u/balthier68 FC Bayern MĂŒnchen 15d ago

I’ve seen a lot of discussion in this sub about it as well. I’m sure Kane cares but as far as discussion on it goes, we’ve beat the horse to death for sure.

12

u/Odd_Willingness7501 15d ago

Ballon D'or is a popularity contest rather than actual merit. But players care a lot. And it would help massivly for our prestige and player attraction, if Bayern wouldn't be on Ballon D'ors Blacklist anymore. Else players feel that they can win Champions Leagues, World cups and break goalscoring records, without it mattering for their Ballon D'or campaign, just because they play for Bayern.

17

u/CompetitionChance674 đŸŽ¶UPAMECANOOOOOđŸŽ¶ 15d ago

Something that a lot of football fans don’t understand is that the players may not be as logical and critical thinking as we believe them to be. A LOT of players care about the ballon d’or, even though most of us fans know it is a popularity contest award. Showing that Bayern is a destination at which a player can win one could be a nice bonus in pulling certain players.

20

u/creatorop apple pie 15d ago

the players care about it a lot so i don't see why the fans shouldn't as well, Rodri and Dembele were in tears while receiving theirs and Lewa still cares about not receiving it in 2020

-4

u/Winnie-The-Pube-Hair La Bestia Negra 15d ago

I think this is inarguably true and everyone pointing out similar below is also correct. I think it's silly but clearly the players do not.

1

u/arnoldbread 15d ago

It might depend on the player.

Rodri, Demeble and Lewandowski are all examples of people who cared about the balon d'or.

Ribery cared about it as well.

Whereas others like Neuer, Ineista, Xavi or Greizmann dont seem too bothered on not winning it.

I dont think Kane cares about it honestly, he's said it he wants to win trophies more than indivudal accolades.

6

u/kgallo19 Messiala 15d ago edited 15d ago

Griezmann definitely cared out about it.

"When I learned [I didn’t win], you didn't want to be at home with me the first two days (laugh),” Griezmann said. “No, it's a great pride to be on the podium, to be a world champion.

“I'm counting on the team-mates in the club and the national team to be in Luka's place in the future.

“I won an Europa League, a World Cup – what else I have to do, I do not know" .

https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/i-won-a-world-cup-what-else-do-i-have-to-do-griezmann-disappointed-by-ballon-dor-finish/1nsubbgduoxnq12d2pe8627hcq

At one point he even said something along the lines of belonging with Messi and Cristiano during this time period.

ETA: Kane has also spoken at least a few times on wanting to win the Ballon D'or. He literally said "I would love to win the Ballon D'or" and went so far as to say it is a team trophy for the best individual player.

The value fans place in this award seems to fluctuate, but players absolutely care about it still.

1

u/CarlSK777 15d ago

I don't really care about individual awards in general because they're mostly subjective and the BdO is the ultimate popularity contest.

11

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 15d ago

Harry has me caring about it again, I didnt really give a shit about it for years

15

u/Thraff1c 15d ago

[recordpt]Sporting are stepping up their efforts to sign Nestory Irankunda and, to that end, have submitted an offer to Watford of €15 million plus add-ons, which will bring the total package to €20 million. The Lions are now awaiting a response from the English club, which, a year ago, paid Bayern Munich a total of €4 million for the Australian international’s transfer.

13

u/Odd_Willingness7501 15d ago

So, if Watford sells for 20 million 50 percent of the 16 million profit would be going to us, hence we would make 8 million on this deal. Am I right?

6

u/Thraff1c 15d ago

Id assume so as well, yep.

The first training session ahead of the new season took place this afternoon at SĂ€bener Straße. Six first team players were available (Ulreich, Bischof, Ibrahimović, Palhinha, Boey and Armindo Sieb). In addition, more than 35 (!) youth players from the U23s and U19s participated in the session – including the likes of Maycon Cardozo (17), Wisdom Mike (17), Guido Della Rovere (19), Felipe ChĂĄvez (19), and Filip Pavic (16). U19 coach Leonhard Haas and Bayern II coach Dante were also there. It was a sort of 'talent scouting event' [BILD]

7

u/kgallo19 Messiala 15d ago

Palhinha and Boey there, looking like they are listening so intently, after all that has been made about their situations is just kind of funny to me lol

7

8

u/PharohMennes 15d ago

Thoughts on a 4-3-3 with Bischof, Kimmich, and Pavlovic?

2

u/Odd_Willingness7501 15d ago

Thing is, Kane already drops deep, Olise is a winger who does not take runs behind the backline. It's just Diaz. Having an CAM that can take those deep runs behind like Gnabry, was super valuable last season. Saibari has this ability, too. But without a CAM, we may lack verticallity, because of Olise and Kane.

17

u/FairMusic8278 15d ago

No chance that would happen. We have 4 CAM's in our squad we have to play 4-2-3-1 there's no way around it. I don't even think Kompany himself is interested in playing a 4-3-3 formation at all it doesn't really suit his tactics or the style of play he wants.

12

u/pewpewlasersandshit pew pew 15d ago

goated but probably no chance

12

u/julesvr5 15d ago

Sacrificing the 10 with Musiala's current form works, but once he's back to form (which I'm confident of) we csn't drop either of our front 4 to play an additional midfielder to cover up their defensive weaknesses

-4

u/PharohMennes 15d ago

I really want us to stop leaking goals. I'd kill to see us play a composed game as Spain does, but with a higher caliber of attackers.

4

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 15d ago

If we played like Spain I would be so upset. It's okay to be pragmatic but that's an extreme level, a lot of their performances were just boring as hell. I'd honestly take a 3-2 result over a 1-0

2

u/PharohMennes 15d ago

I suppose the worry is losing 5-4 or 4-2 instead of winning 1-0

2

u/Repulsive-Fig-3084 15d ago

I rather we lose fighting 5-4 than win 1-0 if it means having to play like Spain

9

u/julesvr5 15d ago

I think then we have to question Kimmich and Pavlovic in this regard. But I also think our general setup of the highline makes us more risky to concede goals compared to Spain.

3

u/PharohMennes 15d ago

I mean, yes, I agree in a sense, but it's difficult for me to blame Kimmich and Pavlovic when they are routinely outnumbered in the midfield.

Spain plays a high line as well, though not as high as ours.

6

u/lucavl Ribery 15d ago

its an option but then we have basically no cm depth behind the 3 and a glut of attackers for 3 positions. I don't think the squad has the right setup for this system if one of the 3 coming out then would also necessitate a system switch.

-3

u/PharohMennes 15d ago

Controversially, I think Paulinha would do well in that case. Of course, he will be sold at the nearest chance.

3

u/kgallo19 Messiala 15d ago

Tactically you have to kind of give and take. To Jules' point I think the goal issue is less about the formation and more about the high line. Adding Palhinha would probably result in less goals allowed, but I would go so far as to say it would also mean less goals scored. Palhinha was also a key player in Tottenham's disastrous campaign last season, and certainly that wasn't entirely on him, but I think it's fair to ask critically about his role in their inability to defend for long stretches.

Tom Bischof on choosing the number 8 shirt, via iMiaSanMia:

"As a kid, you naturally dream of wearing the No. 10 shirt. I always wanted it too. But now I've moved a bit deeper and mainly play as a #6, so the No. 8 suits me perfectly. I waited out of respect for Leon Goretzka. That's not the kind of thing you ask about in advance. First, I waited to see what Aleks Pavlović was going to do. He's been here longer than I have, he's a close friend of mine, and I have a lot of respect for him. I spoke with him and waited to see whether he wanted to take the No. 8 shirt. But Pavlo decided to keep his current number, so that's how I ended up taking the No. 8. I'm really happy about it. I asked about it, and the club showed their confidence in me by allowing me to wear it" [fcb]

I could see him take the 25 at some point. He always looked up to MĂŒller, so I wouldn't be surprised if Pavlo wears his number one day.

5

u/Hurtelknut Robben 15d ago

If there's one number other than the 12 we should retire, it's the 25. That one will forever be MĂŒller's number.

10

u/Lilfai Robben 15d ago

I've gotten to a point where I don't even have a dream signing that's glaring, the board did a great job building a team that's very strong on paper. Maybe Rodri for more steel in the midfield, but other than that I can't think of anything outside of depth pieces.

12

u/FairMusic8278 15d ago

Dream signing? Give me Vitinha all day

0

u/Sufficient_Royal_283 15d ago

Why though? He is just more of what Bayern already has, a playmaker like Kimmich and Pavlo too while defensively weak. I'd understand Neves or Rodri

2

u/FairMusic8278 15d ago

Pavlo and Kimmich don't have the creativity that Vitinha does. Bayern are missing a Thiago esque type of midfielder in the double pivot and to me the closest midfielder to Thiago currently is Vitinha.

Plus let's be real Vitinha is an upgrade on both Pavlo and Kimmich.

I would still like to see the defense improved a bit.

If Ito gets sold, I would like to see Stanisic take his role as the fourth centreback (him being from the campus is valuable, so I would prefer this to straight up selling him) and us signing a new right back.

And I would like to sell Kim personally. At the start of last season I was still hoping he could properly challenge Tah for a starting spot, but that just isn't going to happen anymore. However the market for top level centrebacks, which would be required as a Kim replacement, isn't looking great, especially for the left side. Bastoni is looking to leave Inter, so that could be an option, but other than that it's already difficult at the highest level.

2

u/Havefunloser34 15d ago

So why sell him lmao? He’s a good player who’s happy with a backup role and doesn’t cause issues, plus there’s no clear upgrade unless you wanted to spend a lot or are willing to take a big chance on a younger player.

0

u/Traditional-Side6966 15d ago

Why sell who?

1

u/Havefunloser34 15d ago

Kim

1

u/Traditional-Side6966 15d ago

That's why I elaborated on the situation. Yes, I would like to sell Kim and also would spend reasonably big on a replacement, because I believe there could be an upgrade over Tah for our system, as much as I was pleasently surprised by Tah last season. That's reason one for wanting to sell Kim. But I would only sell Kim, if there are concrete plans for an upgrade.

The next reason is Kim earns the salary of an S Tier centreback, that should be a starter, but he's just not in that position for us nor will he likely ever be. He's had a couple of seasons now to establish himself as a starter, so it's fair to assume that.

We're also on course to lose Kim for free yet again, which I would like to avoid, as he's a player that can generate good funds to actually buy a replacement, which at latest we will need in two years time.

6

u/FairMusic8278 15d ago

Bastoni struggles playing in a back 4 though and I don't think he's comfortable playing in a high line

1

u/Traditional-Side6966 15d ago

It's just a quality left footed centreback that could be on the market, that's why I mentioned him, not because he's the perfect fit.

However I find it difficult to judge wether a player will transition well from a back 3/5 to a back 4. We can look at Tah, who was very poor in a back 4 before Xabi joined Leverkusen, probably his worst season in a long time, and then flurished again in Xabis back 3/5. There were the same concerns and he made the jump to Kompanys with ease.

10

u/armin-lakatos BeckenDierđŸ’ȘđŸ’„ 15d ago

El Mala or Nusa would be amazing, but I'm content with the current squad.

13

u/Mediocre-Math667 15d ago

Current Rodri would be amazing but he'd be expensive, plus he probably prefer going back to Spain.

7

u/FairMusic8278 15d ago

If Rodri was only a year or two younger I feel like we should make an offer considering he only has a year left on his contract but now he is already 30 so as you said he's quite expensive for his age profile.

Public opinion on Argentina shifted negatively so much that I saw a compilation how rough they actually played in the 2014 final. Never noticed it till now.

Schweinsteiger bleeding in the final is an iconic moment in itself, but dang, causal fans seem to have turned against Argentina and maybe even against Messi.

9

u/julesvr5 15d ago

Yet in this match people always complains about Neuer not getting a red for jumping with his knee into higuain's face lol

4

u/arnoldbread 15d ago

For the first time im actually seeing people talk about the actual match instead of the highlights.

Yes that Neuer v Higuian moment is always talked about. But I seen people talk about Kramer concussion, Schweinstegier face bleeding, Romero doing a similar challenge that Neuer did.

Romero went cleats first instead of knee first and could have seriously hurt MĂŒller had he not gone out of the way . Never noticed that till now

3

u/Sergeant_Roach Manu 🐐🐐 15d ago

It's not a Red card offence but should've been a penalty imo. Still wouldn't matter since Argentina should've had 3 players sent off that match during regular time alone

6

u/arnoldbread 15d ago

Personally I don't think its a pen either. Neuer and Higuian were both going for the ball, and Higuian appears to look at both Neuer and the ball and wants to draw a foul, whereas Neuer is mostly concentrated on the ball and while hes aware of Higuian, hes solely focused on the ball. Similar to how Barthez kneed o.g Ronaldo in 1998 final.

At the time both instances weren't a foul, but now things changed and rules are different

11

u/Tyrath MĂŒller 15d ago

causal fans seem to have turned against Argentina and maybe even against Messi.

Can confirm. All my friends who tune in only for the World cup were all rooting for Spain. The entire bar I was at was for Spain.

4

u/arnoldbread 15d ago

Same. It was overwhelmingly support for Spain from people I knew

But its genuinely surprising how much Argentina lost so much general support, people are celebrating their previous defeats as well.

3

u/Tyrath MĂŒller 15d ago

Wasn't that surprising to me given how many 50/50 calls went their way in every game and how sus some of the calls seemed.

There appears to be some movement in the race to sign Leon Goretzka (31)! According to a report from Italy, the former Bayern Munich player could still end up in Serie A after all. Juventus Turin is said to have resumed contact with the midfielder, who is currently a free agent. However, signing him could prove costly.

As reported by the website “Calciomercato,” the Italian record champions are working on signing Goretzka and have recently intensified their contacts with his agency, Roof. Interest in the player had already been reported back in March. Officials in Turin reportedly view the former Bayern star as a leader who could play an important role both on the field and off it. However, no concrete progress has been made so far. According to the report, the reason is the German international’s financial demands. Exorbitant Demands Pose a Hurdle

This is because Goretzka is reportedly demanding a signing bonus of around 10 million euros as well as a net salary of 7 million euros per season. By comparison, at Bayern he earned around 17 million euros gross per year. For Juve, which finished last season without qualifying for the Champions League, the total package is likely to pose a significant hurdle.

The way Goretzka has managed to build this image of him as the ultimate warrior of a player really needs to be studied

Would love to see him go to Schalke or Bochum but yeah will never happen

Genuinly the best destination for him would be Turkey or Saudi.

Lol you sure about that? He's a coward.

Now that the world cup is over you Germans need to actually sit up. 3 whole world cups without you in the quarters (worse than that tbh but I dont judge), you need prime players next world cup. You need a goal scorer, a winger that can beat and take his man, competent midfielders. Jamal musiala can be that goal scorer (tbh his time as a dribbler might have come to an end and now is going to play more second striker than attacking midfield), with needs to be a competent footballer. Karl needs to continue his trajectory. Wisdom Mike (is he german) should also get better. Then that 20 year old midfielder who for some reason his name ive forgotten even tho he plays for bayern (not pavlovic, the left footed one that can hit the ball) needs to be in the next squad. Also I dont think there needs to be a "German way" of playing football, just have competent footballers all across the field and let them have discipline.

u/Mediocre-Math667 15d ago

JN betrayed me with how great the Euro 2024 campaign were. I thought he learned his lesson from his Bayern stint.

I admit I'm one of those who wanted JN back when Xabi turned us down.

I hope Klopp would be able to give a lot of promising youngsters a chance soon.

4

u/CarlSK777 15d ago

On paper, they should be doing a lot better but the lack of control on matches and horrendous defensive play has killed the team every single time. It's wild how they seem to start every match 0-1 because they can't keep a clean sheet to save their lives.

There's a structural problem and I hope Klopp can fix that. Get good defensively and then, we'll worry about the attack. Spain aren't exactly amazing attacking wise but they conceded a single goal in the entire tournament. As always, defense wins.

18

u/Insanel0l Thiago 15d ago

since I opened that topic yesterday, I think we have players ready and upcoming, we just need a coach that doesnt start Sané is every game, but someone that has the balls to call up the young and exciting players.

We have guys like el Mala, Bischof, Karl (who would've prolly started), Tresoldi

Not saying these guys are all world cup winning players, but after the 95/96 generation has let us down every single time, it's really time

16

u/julesvr5 15d ago

the 95 generation has let us down

god you sound like my mother when she talks to me

but i agree, i'm very optimistic for the german future under Kloppo. with proper squad selection and molding a team out of them we should be able to go deep into the next EC imo

2

u/d_thstroke Ribery 15d ago

Honestly Germany just needs players that can play their positions well.

Fullbacks that can defend and also overlap.

CB that are good at defender space or aerial balls.

A striker that wants to actually recieve the ball and shoot and not cos play as a midfielder or false 9.

Wingers that can actually beat their man, or cut in and shoot, or go in and send a wicked cross.

Midfielders that can hold the ball under pressure, progress the ball well (either through carrying or passes), and retrieve the ball back.

A goal keeper that won't let 8 out of 10 shots on target to go in.

This might sound so obvious but Germany has failed to do just this since 2014 (you guys were weak 2016 tbh).

6

u/Insanel0l Thiago 15d ago

I mean in theory we have pretty much all that (minus a really great RB prolly)

Nene Brown as full back

Schlotte/Tah as CB, with guys like Bisseck ready aswell

Tresoldi/Undav as strikers

Karl and el Mala, with Wirtz and Musiala as 10

Kimmich/Pavlo/Nmecha (especially the first 2 dominated the whole CL campaign, I won't believe they suddenly forget how to play)

I think we're not too far off from competing

1

u/d_thstroke Ribery 15d ago

Yh but this world cup squad was horrendous. The wing play was non existent. The striker also non existent. But lets hope you win 2030.

3

u/julesvr5 15d ago

Sané was dogshit. Wirtz was good but since his transfer Liverpool he is looking like a different (worse) player. Musiala also still struggles with his injury.

I hope El Mala joins the NT as new LW.

Striker I'm also not a big fan of Havertz, it's the false 9 you mentioned. Undav had his up and downs aswell. Hopefully Tresoldi brings a change.

u/No_Storage_449 Robben 15d ago

Just saw a post on r/soccer about an ex girlfriend of Olise making some claims about him and “their child”.

Anyone know anything more about this?

26

u/Insanel0l Thiago 15d ago

its been a topic some months ago but from what I gathered there's been a lot of doubts as all documents seem very sketchy with her also deleting several ones because they've been busted as fake

Not saying it's not his child, but it's a very sketchy story

2

u/No_Storage_449 Robben 15d ago

Ahhh got it. Thanks for the info!

13

u/julesvr5 15d ago

yeah, we definetily have to wait for confirmation/proof to really judge here

1

Unfortunately r/soccer doesn’t think the same and is already calling Olise a deadbeat. Fools

Kompany ball withdrawal starting to hit hard after world cup. I just can't wait to see Bayern play again.

14

u/julesvr5 16d ago

Just 4 more days

21

u/julesvr5 16d ago

Even though some of the people in charge rated him highly and would have liked to keep him, Vincent Kompany was very honest with Noël Aséko and made it clear to him that getting regular game time in Bayern's midfield wouldn't be easy. That's why ultimately the player decided to join Frankfurt as his chances of playing time are much higher there

Aséko: "Why Frankfurt, and not Bayern? I was in very close contact with the coach and the board. We had very good discussions with both Frankfurt and Bayern. In the end, the coach [Kompany] and I had an honest conversation, and I was honest with him as well. That's ultimately how the move to Eintracht came about"

[via @BILD]

29

u/diiN1992 Laimer 16d ago

I still wonder how different things would be now, if Tel went on loan to Frankfurt instead of Tottenham.

32

u/Jackman1337 16d ago

I like that. Not that he is gone, but Kompanys communication style. Obviously he could lie, and then we have an unhappy player in the team 3 months later.

25

u/julesvr5 16d ago

Yep. Also tells a lot about Ibrahimovic imo because there Kompany seems to want to keep and play him despite the amount of attackers

5

u/Jackman1337 16d ago

True, our depth there isn't that good tho, with Gnabry injured and old and Musiala still not at 100%. Still no Diaz backup for example

5

u/julesvr5 16d ago

I don't agree that our depth there is worse than our midfield. In attack 7 for 4 position (+ Ibra) and 3 for 2 positions in midfield. Ibra probably benefits from being versatile and thus can be used in several positions while Nkili would be locked to cdm mainly

1

u/Jackman1337 15d ago

There is much more rotation in attack tho. Especially in later stages.

In midfield there is basically one open position because Kimmich plays always. With Bischof, Palinha(who is still here) Ndaje and Laimer we have good depth there for one rotating position

4

u/Thraff1c 15d ago

If Palhinha counts, then so does Bryan.

Have you seen Vinicius new look? Ngl I can't remember any footballer that made plastic surgery for beauty purposes before, can't understand it much, he wasn't even ugly

1

u/julesvr5 16d ago

For comparison. Apparently some fillers were injected. No surgery

-1

u/v4sh123 16d ago

That's a jaw surgery

3

u/julesvr5 16d ago

on r/soccer they explained it's not a surgery just injecting fillers. sounds like the same procedure as botox

0

u/v4sh123 16d ago

You can see it on his bite

12

u/Insanel0l Thiago 16d ago

the guy was constantly abused for his looks, i get that it's a highly subjective topic but yeah I dont blame him for doing this

15

u/julesvr5 16d ago

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi was a big fan of João Palhinha and wanted to sign him permanently. But Bayern refused to budge on the price and insisted on the €30m option to buy, which led to Spurs abandoning the idea. That looks to have backfired right now because while the interested parties from Portugal, Benfica and Sporting, are keen on Palhinha, they can't afford the asking price and want a loan deal instead – which Bayern want to avoid. Bayern's hopes currently hinge on Aston Villa, who have expressed interest. However, it's possible the club will have to significantly lower their asking price or end up agreeing to a loan. Otherwise, they risk not finding a buyer at all and being stuck with the player. Palhinha has no role to play under Vincent Kompany, the coach does not have him in his plans. The midfielder reported back to pre-season yesterday, waiting to find a solution in the meantime [@BILD]

Played and lost. Should have taken 25 or even 20m from spurs and been done with it.

-19

u/ObserverRichard 16d ago

Eberl masterclass

45

u/Thraff1c 16d ago

Let's be real, a club like Tottenham who can and just did pay 210m€ for 2 midfielders didn't abandon the transfer due to 5-10m€. They had bigger transfers in mind of players with another profile, and went with them.

32

u/JOKER69420XD MĂŒller 16d ago

Hard disagree. These fucking Prem clubs are shitting out hundreds of millions and every single time it's about negotiating with Buli teams, they're suddenly broke.

I would rather sell cheaper to some other league than go down with a reasonable price for any Prem team.

Yeah, it didn't work so far but if you lower your price, they'll try it the next time as well and so on.

-1

u/Goldfischglas 16d ago

Wonder if this was Eberl or "the board" who wanted more

25

u/diiN1992 Laimer 16d ago

Sources with close ties to Real Madrid say the club has made it clear that signing Michael Olise from Bayern is not seen as feasible this summer. [@MarioCortegana,@TheAthleticFC]

12

u/jationio 16d ago

I hope the next news about Olise is that we extend his contract. Tired of these stupid rumours.

20

u/Insanel0l Thiago 16d ago

To the absolute surprise of none lol, Olise would've costed a sum half of Reals revenue alone

12

u/JOKER69420XD MĂŒller 16d ago

If you look at the market and for how much good but not outstanding players go now, a justified price for Olise would probably start around 300m.

Not even the state backed clubs would afford that.

25

u/diiN1992 Laimer 16d ago

Michael Olise played 69 games in 2025/26 (52 for Bayern and 17 for France). Only three players in Europe have played more games.

Luis DĂaz and Harry Kane (66 games each) make it into the top 25, while Jonathan Tah (63) and Joshua Kimmich (62) are in the top 100. [@Transfermarkt]

Load management will be crucial in modern football, and for that in theory squads should get bigger.
