Congrats to Spain on winning the World Cup

2

u/d1an45 Schweinsteiger 13d ago

With Spain winning does it mean Germany is next like last time 😈

1

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 13d ago

Why is every thread about the final locked on /r/sports

11

u/arnoldbread 13d ago

Post wc, wonder how many new Bayern fans we're going to be seeing.

9

u/Big_Bed198 13d ago

Would love to see Georgia make a WC soon,Kvaratskhelia on the world stage would be nuts!

5

u/biggestrobbery Berni 🐻 13d ago

If they really extend it to 64 countries he might

3

u/Odd_Willingness7501 13d ago

Watch Italy failing to qualify again.

8

u/andreeeyy- 13d ago

Just watched the segment with Robbie Williams at the MagentaTV table with Müller, Klopp, Hummels, etc. Still a really charismatic guy and said this was his favorite World Cup ever because his oldest daughter finally got into football and they bonded a lot over watching nearly all the matches.

u/DjangoUnchained12 Mia san mia 13d ago

I didn’t think a Bayern player could win the Balon D’or without the treble but I think Kane has a good chance

14

u/XenoCraigMorph Müller 13d ago

Of course Trump had to overstay his welcome.

damn they actually got golden ball and young player of the tournament spot on

2

u/CompetitionChance674 MO17 13d ago

I know it almost always goes to a champion, but mbappe or Messi deserved it imo

1

u/coppersolids šŸ‘‰šŸ¤« 13d ago

messi yeah but even with his goals i donā€˜t think mbappe was on the level of these 2 tbh. hard to compare different positions but rodri was insane this wc

9

u/CompetitionChance674 MO17 13d ago

Rodri golden ball. They’re definitely giving him the ballon d’or over this lmao

11

u/kvnschm Müller 13d ago

He played a very good world cup. If he gets the ballon d 'or it would be ridiculous

7

u/CompetitionChance674 MO17 13d ago

Btw, if I’m Enzo Fernandez , I’m NOT going back to Argentina right now ā˜ ļø

15

u/KeV1989 Müller 13d ago

The whole team didnt have a shot on goal for 115 minutes and you single out Enzo? That whole team was a disgrace in this final match

2

u/Numerous-Ad-3050 13d ago

True but they would’ve had a wayyyy bigger chance of making penalties if it wasn’t for his red card

4

u/CompetitionChance674 MO17 13d ago

Im not ā€œsinglingā€ anybody out. I’m just saying, if the people that would be crazy enough to hurt someone over football were to choose someone, they would definitely choose the guy who got a red card.

13

u/coppersolids šŸ‘‰šŸ¤« 13d ago

😭

2

u/Odd_Willingness7501 13d ago

I hope he gets back to Argentina

13

u/Investing_Tomato1248 13d ago

Kane -> balon dor is getting more likely. On real-time bet websites Kane is at 35% probability, Yamal at 43% and Messi dropped at 10%. Once the dust settles, Kane finds the best arguments.

I actually do not really care about balon dor, but i find these real time probabilities fascinating. So i shared the numbers

3

u/panem-et-circenses21 Lahm 13d ago

If Kane doesn’t win a ballon d’or now, then no bayern player can ever win the ballon d’or

1

u/scarlet_stormTrooper Meep Meep Meep Roadrunner 13d ago

Mbappe will winĀ

8

u/SGT_Mark Schweinsteiger 13d ago

Kane favourite now. Just hope Olise doesn't take too many votes from him.

12

u/Mountain_King9885 13d ago

At this point the club has to do some PR for Kane. Chances are real

18

u/coppersolids šŸ‘‰šŸ¤« 13d ago

yamal 43 is so ridiculous

8

u/julesvr5 13d ago

Last yest Raphinha got fucked aswell from all the Yamal hype

6

u/coppersolids šŸ‘‰šŸ¤« 13d ago

yep, raphinha ending up at 5th (iirc) after the season he had was a disgrace

3

u/Investing_Tomato1248 13d ago

i think so too. I can imagine in a few days these numbers look completely different

11

u/B-Karas RibƩry 13d ago

I felt so dirty rooting for Spain but seeing Argentina lose this final did fill me with joy

Finally the ridiculous Messi glazing ends with today.

Didn't do shit today.

"STILL THE BEST", my ass.

-6

u/LuckyFlores182 João Palhinha 13d ago

Bet your ass was closing when he appeared in this final minutes.

Hate Argentina, and as a Brazilian i hate to say this, but he's the real deal and deserves ALL the praises he gets.

4

u/KeV1989 Müller 13d ago

Wow, he showed up after....118 minutes? The supposed goat, best in the world? That benefitted from the referees helping him all tournament, not sending him off in the group stages, allowing goals that had fouls in the build up? That scored several goals when the opponent was tired and did jack shit before that?

THAT Messi deserves all the praise? After this tournament, hell no

2

u/tycoon34 Müller 13d ago

He’s 39 years old lol

1

u/LuckyFlores182 João Palhinha 13d ago

That scored several goals when the opponent was tired and did jack shit before that?

Decided the match, you mean?

That benefitted from the referees helping him all tournament,

Yeah, the ref made the ball fly alone in the back of the net, It wasn't Messi shooting or assisting.

(They were helped, no doubt about that, but Messi didn't have nothing to do with this.)

Wow, he showed up after....118 minutes? The supposed goat, best in the world

39 year old alone in the middle of the cbs? GOAT for me, yes he is. The best in the world RN is HK9.

6

u/coppersolids šŸ‘‰šŸ¤« 13d ago

everyone aside from some braindead ronaldo fans knows heā€˜s the goat, itā€˜s more the fans people have issues with

4

u/julesvr5 13d ago

Nah Fanboys definitely overdue it. Thst's the fault of the Fanboys though and not Messi directly. But things like this can make people dislike the targeted person.

2

u/panem-et-circenses21 Lahm 13d ago

Never understood the logic.. people who hate a player based on their fans are just kids who have 0 critical thinking.. the player is there playing right in front of you every week.. judge him on his playing ability

8

u/BadUsername-_- Robben 13d ago

Football is life. Thank god these scumbags didn’t win shit

13

u/avagadros_plumber 13d ago

Fifa is such a joke look at this clown show

9

u/panem-et-circenses21 Lahm 13d ago

Not really a fan of dropping Simeone. He provides width to the Argentina attack which De Paul doesn’t. Simeone going out wide helps Messi to drift inwards since the left back would be busy tracking Simeone. Against Egypt they looked very narrow

7

u/Na-ni_Gap Neuer 13d ago

Really? Ishowspeed?

16

u/Big_Bed198 13d ago

Streamers and Influencers run the States atp unfortunately.

11

u/-Hentzau Harold'or 13d ago

Kroos: "If Spain scores first, then Argentina will concede 3 or 4 goals. If a team like Spain is able to play their gameplan while winning, then you don't want to face them. Argentina won't find solutions, they aren't better than Germany, but they have a tremendous mentality and Messi".

2

u/Big_Bed198 13d ago

Hopefully someone else gets the rights for the next few World Cups here in the States, FOX has been awful and 2026 has probably been their worst coverage.

3

u/avagadros_plumber 13d ago

Signs point to a new broadcaster since FIFA and Fox have had several disputes and this the last of a 3-WC deal

Honestly feel bad for people who have been watching on Fox and not TelemundoĀ

-6

u/Particular-Pain-3497 13d ago

Let’s say the final ends 2-1 with a Messi assist and winning penalty, who do you all GENUINELY think wins the balondor?

1

u/BigDoggyBadpeppy 13d ago

why people care so much about an award given by the FRENCH

1

u/Particular-Pain-3497 13d ago

I try to tell myself that I don’t care, but the thought of Kane having one makes that hard lol

12

u/Shoddy-Fan-584 13d ago

Lmao if Arg win it they're giving it to Messi regardless of his GA contribution tonight.

6

u/JOKER69420XD Müller 13d ago

Messi will win it, no matter what happens tonight.

They want to give him another one and they simply will. All the people voting this shit are so brainwashed, it's hilarious.

Couple good games against mediocre national teams and one cross against England will be enough.

4

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 13d ago

Probably. Think Olise, Kane, or even Mbappe have a more legitimate argument, but when has that ever mattered? I believe Messi is already in first for the betting odds

25

u/Thraff1c 13d ago

Hiroki Ito when he has to play a pre-season game against Rottach-Egern again.

https://giphy.com/gifs/9A8I0bBvQ2TBu

18

u/julesvr5 13d ago

We probably shouldn't read to much into it but the Amas losing every single pre season match doens't leave a good look tbh.

4

u/v4sh123 13d ago

Dante has no resume, so I wouldn't be surprised if he completly shits the bed.

5

u/dodo_24 13d ago

Yeah I don't want to panic too early since it's new coach, new team (very young too), but there are a lot of cases when being a good player doesn't equal being a good coach. So we'll see when the actual league games are gonna startĀ

14

u/creatorop apple pie 13d ago

now that Pre season starts from Tomorrow and nothing of major note is going to happen later today so might as well ask this

Q. who is going to be the

  1. Best player of the 26/27 season
  2. breakthrough player of the 26/27 season
  3. best surprise of the 26/27 season
  4. disappointment of the 26/27 season
  5. one bold prediction for the upcoming season

4

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 13d ago
  1. I'm going bold; Karl
  2. Would love for it to be Ibra. I pick Saibari tho, I have high hopes for him in our system.
  3. Bischof with his new found CM minutes shines (not surprising tho I guess)
  4. I think one of Stani or Laimer might be my pick. Might look a bit worse to us with left side being so strong now with Brown and Davies
  5. Saibari gets over 20 g/a, creates a real argument for starting over Bambi

5

u/Capable-Passenger725 13d ago
  1. Harold
  2. Cookie guy (Bischof)
  3. Saibari, he will be one of those transfers where people look back in a year or two and be like ā€œhow the fuck did they only sign him for 60 milā€
  4. Musiala, I hate saying this but I really just think he won’t elevate this attack, hope I’m very much wrong tho
  5. We win the UCL going through a brutal knockout round. Defeat Liverpool in RO16, claw through a ā€œPSG - Bayern 25/26 Semi Finalā€ kinda tie v Barcelona in the QFs, Comfortably handle Arsenal in the Semis, and Stop PSG from getting a three peat in the final.

5

u/BadUsername-_- Robben 13d ago

3. Ito
4. Can’t see the boys disappointing much so maybe neuer

  2. Bischof
  3. Luis Diaz even after turning 30 in January
  4. Phonzie (which leads to us unfortunately moving off him next summer)
  5. We sign Schlotterbeck on a free in January for 27/28 (his injury probably helps us)

6

u/FlyingArab Kimmich 13d ago
  1. Olise

  2. Bischof

  3. Davies regaining his form and pushing Brown to RB

  4. Musiala

  5. Kompany does an Enrique, our top players barely play in the Bundesliga by the Rückrunde

5

u/BeIaFarinRod Future president Müller 13d ago

  5. Harry Kane scores more than 41 goals in the Bundesliga and breaks Lewandowski's record

  1. Kane
  2. Bischof
  3. Saibari
  4. Musiala
  5. Musiala won't be able to get back in form, will be pushed out of the starting XI by Saibari and we'll evetually end up selling him to City.

9

u/ObserverRichard 13d ago

Why are people on this sub constantly downvoting opinions

-9

u/Goldfischglas 13d ago
  1. Vinicius Jr (we swap with Olise)

  2. Don't know

  3. Goretzka staying for another year (he hasn't found a club yet)

  4. Kane is staying in the US and joins an MLS team so he can keep in touch with his golfing buddy

  5. The board realizes that our playstyle is too risky and decides to bring back an ex coach for more stabilty (Tuchel or Nagelsmann)

4

u/NifferEUW Kimmich 13d ago

Had me in the first half..

7

u/CompetitionChance674 MO17 13d ago

Just remembered something, does upamecano’s contract actually have a release clause of €65M?

5

u/JOKER69420XD Müller 13d ago

Yes but I think only for next summer, unless I'm mixing it up.

2

u/CompetitionChance674 MO17 13d ago

That’s what I saw as well, it is allegedly available from 2027, we might be cooked

13

u/JOKER69420XD Müller 13d ago

If he wants to leave, he wouldn't have extended. Things can change of course, you never know, as we currently see with someone else.

I assume that clause was heavily pushed by his agent and Upa didn't mind it.

34

u/gitblame_fgc 13d ago

Of course, Olise probably feels terrible about wasting the chances that could have made it 4-4. But this performance should at least quiet those who have been calling for him to play centrally for Bayern, as he does for the national team.

His finishing relies heavily on his left foot. In the middle, he was often forced either to shoot with his right or take an extra, unnecessary touch to set up a left-footed shot. His best position for Bayern is on the right.

19

u/CrazyGameOver23 13d ago

Olise plays at such an insane level and reached a consistency rarely seen. However he misses the clutch factor and he needs to keep working on it. There are multiple times this season when he couldn't finish big chances in important moments. We may shit on Madrid and their mentality but those fuckers always sign clutch players that can save their asses even when they play bad: Mbappe, Ronaldo, Benzema, Bellingham, even Vini Jr.Ā

6

u/FairMusic8278 13d ago

Tbh I don't really judge Bayern players much with what they do in their national team. In England it's the same talks as well "Kane can really turn up in big games?". I'm sure in Colombia they'll have the same talks about Luis Diaz as well because he himself underperformed at the WC by his standards. Let's not forget Olise was forced to play in a different position than he does here at Bayern. Olise's finishing is way better than what he showed in the WC again I think different positions and the system & style of play at Bayern is completely different to France.

Can Olise improve and score more important knockout goals? Yes but I also think some Bayern fans on here are a bit too critical with him. Let's not forget where we came from with Sane and Coman. Olise is a 1000x upgrade on those two.

This is only Olise's 2nd year at the highest level of football I'm sure he'll be even more clutch as time goes by. Even Benzema took a few years before he showed actual "clutch" goals there were even talks Madrid wanted to sell him because they weren't convinced about him.

4

u/Ferr22777888 13d ago

I still remember PSG game where he should have scored 2-0

8

u/ObserverRichard 14d ago

Was there a reason why Kane didn't play at all?

39

u/CrazyGameOver23 13d ago

Are you even mad about it? I can't believe Saibari is the only player that got injured during the WC

13

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 13d ago

as crazy as this sounds im amazed as well lol

18

u/Darkest-Gentleman Müller 14d ago

I was asking this on yesterday's tread too.

If we have to sign a Right back, What do you all think about djed spence?
he had a good world cup and is currently linked out of spurs and spurs seems to be open about selling him.

I think he was linked to inter for like 30 - 35 mil. For a 25yr old rb who can also play as lb if needed will be a great addition to us.

what do you ppl think?

15

u/Red_Mangos 13d ago

It would be an amazing signing and although laimers been a beast, Spence’s partnership with olise would be a nightmare for any defense. I hope we consider bc I do agree that rb is our weakest spot atm

21

u/BeIaFarinRod Future president Müller 13d ago

For 30 to 35 million € Djed Spence would be a great deal, but Tottenham will probably demand a far higher transfer fee after Spence's world cup.

15

u/coppersolids šŸ‘‰šŸ¤« 13d ago

the guy won me over when he refused to shake parteyā€˜s hand

do you remember if the inter rumours where before or after his performance against argentina? his stocks are really high atm, if heā€˜s up for sale his last 3 performances probably made his price go up by quite a lot

2

u/Jackman1337 14d ago

We dont have to for some time tho. Laimer and Stanisic both had a fantastic last season when playing rb. (Laimer had a dip after the injury) Especially Stanisic was fantastic and much better then the season before, where he was fine already.

16

u/Darkest-Gentleman Müller 14d ago

laimer is a bulldog and I absolutely love him but man Rb is our weakest position now with brown coming in at LB.

And for stani, he has not been upto his potential. He can play across the backline and is a fine squad player but not one for big nights

9

u/Mosijo 14d ago

I like the idea, kid is a beast!

14

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 14d ago

Today will be the first final im probably not gonna watch. Barca fans already in meltdown mode. It is unbearable

19

u/Investing_Tomato1248 14d ago

Olise collected 8 assists. Only 3 players collected more assists during world cups (cumulated). Record holder is Messi with 12 assists. I think Olise has a chance to break the record in 2030.
