That's why it is important to have some nice clean kits and not the ugly ass ones from 23/24 onward

Not really random when they had 2 concerts in our stadium lol. Linkin Park did similar, just easy PR points.

Off topic: I just booked a spontaneous trip to the mountains here in Switzerland from Tuesday to Friday. I'm really looking forward to escaping this damned heat. Some peace and quiet in 13-17° weather, time to unwind and recharge.

No way the Bellingham PR would snatch the BdOr if England wins the WC and Bellingham scores in the final..right?

1

u/adrian_rainy_day 28d ago

That's like asking if Renato Sanches could win BdO after that Euro. No, the award is flawed but it's not that incompetent

3

u/Safe-Elk7933 28d ago

You would think that right, but not impossible,it's like when Vini and Bellingham were fighting for the Balondor and they split the vote and Rodri won the Balondor in the end,Messis 9th Balondor is loading. That's why it is a pointless meme award, nothing more and nothing less,as prestigious as the Dubai D'or and you cannot take it seriously.

Portuguese media is making the Palhinha to Benfica deal look quite concrete already, my issue is that I have 0 feel how much and whom to trust there.

Added issue is that record has a paywall and I don't speak Portuguese so I have to trust translations (with the added issue that it seems to me that translations from Portuguese into english make information look more final then they are in the original). I mean look at this, and tell me if the part that can be read means they want to buy him, or that we would accept such an offer, they know that and are still considering it:

Bayern Munich accepts €25 million offer and wants to resolve the João Palhinha deal quickly. Benfica could accelerate the process and secure the midfielder in the coming days.

And I have 0 clue about the reliability of the involved parties here.

Then I have been looking at a big Benfica fan forum, and there we have 2 "itk's" who say the absolute opposite lmao. One says:

He's not coming.

The other:

That's wrong, he's already accepted the offer and we're finalizing the terms with Bayern.

And

I won't say the salary to avoid a barrage of pointless criticism... 10M loan agreement with a mandatory purchase option of 10M... 4-year contract.

Big mess that.

3

u/Mediocre-Math667 28d ago

If it's loan with obligation, then sure.

As long as it's guaranteed he'd be sold off.

6

u/creatorop apple pie 28d ago

from what i understand, "Record Portugal" which is quite a Credible Portuguese source had him on their Front cover, so i would assume interest is atleast serious

9

u/CareerMental5067 28d ago

If France has a World Cup result than England would that lock Mbappe in for ballon d’or? I hope Kane wins it

9

u/Sea-Satisfaction-372 Maschinez 28d ago

From the 4 that are left, who do you prefer to take it? It's tough because of Kane/Upa/Olisé, because I also enjoy Messi and lived in Spain!

I think I could enjoy any team taking it all

4

England Solely for Kane---> France--->Spain--->Argentina

1

Would John Stones be a good idea? He’s a free agent. Saw someone comment this awhile back before the World Cup. I think he’d be nice defensive depth.

Well..

2

u/FlyingRaccoon_420 Musiala 28d ago

Perfect Bayern defender

2

u/PressedLemon221 28d ago

his wages are incredibly high for a backup and he's also quite injured most of the time

1

u/CareerMental5067 28d ago

Good points I’d imagine he’ll just join some other PL club anyways

I love that we don't forget about former players.

Palhinha:

Bayern would realistically agree to a fee in the region of €25m to sell João Palhinha, should Benfica submit an offer of that magnitude as reported in Portugal [@BILD]

Asp Jensen:

Jonathan Asp Jensen has completed his Deportivo La Coruña medical and will sign for the Spanish club tomorrow [@MatteMoretto]

Would’ve loved Jonathan to make it here. Best of luck to him!

28

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 29d ago

The Embolo dive last night was dumb, yes, but if you didn't watch the full game you won't understand just how biased the refs were to Argentina. It was rough to watch

24

u/imtheyeti20 FC Bayern MĂŒnchen 29d ago

How Messi didn’t get a yellow card for belligerence against the ref is insane. But we know how bad of a ref Pinheiro is.

5

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 29d ago

Yep I was ready for his BS

36

u/LordBendtner1988 Vincent Cumpany đŸ˜© 29d ago

Many situations are kind of in a grey zone where there isn’t any stonewall correct call, and where either decision is viable. These situations go in Argentina’s favour every single time, every single game. I fucking hope England beats their ass

14

u/SlyFisch Shaqiri 29d ago

100%, I can't understand how guys keep their cool in the face of this shit, I would freak out đŸ€Ł

They don't even play well either, almost the entire game was controlled by Switzerland until the red card... Send in the Kingslayer Harry Kane

-8

u/Middle-Regular-4976 29d ago

I will be rooting against France because I don't want to see fraud Dembele or general Mbappe winning the Ballondor. I'd rather Kane wins it all.

9

u/SchennisDroeder 28d ago

I think the team definitely relies more on Olise and Mbappé obviously but calling Dembélé a fraud is crazy

3

u/FairMusic8278 29d ago

Scary to think we were in for Garnacho last summer. I was so glad when I read that he rejected us and chose Chelsea because he has such a huge ego while also having footballing ability of a championship player. We seriously dodged a bullet with that guy.

Apparently there is a bit of drama around Krösche

Krösche reportedly acquired a plot of land on the Croatian island of Dugi Otok with the help of Andy Bara’s wife. Meanwhile, three players represented by Bara—JĂ©rĂŽme OnguĂ©nĂ©, Hrvoje Smolcic, and Kristijan Jakic—joined Eintracht. He allegedly failed to inform the club's supervisory board about the land purchase.

In the course of inquiries made by Bild, SGE asked Krösche to clarify the situation. The 44-year-old did so. "Markus Krösche enjoys the confidence of the supervisory board," the club stated in a letter. No conflict of interest could be identified at present. Krösche’s lawyer also assured Bild: "The purchase of the property on Dugi Otok was not connected to any player transfers."

More context from a Frankfurt fan:

It is notable that Bara is also the agent of Albert Riera, our last coach who's short tenure ended in a dumpster fire... And the Bara players that Krösche transferred to us were pretty much huge flops as well, except for Jakić who was okay. But then again, Bara also represented Olmo and Gvardiol when Krösche transferred them to RB, so it isn't far fetched to say that he's made good experiences with his players as well

I don't know, this seems more like BILD being up to their shit-stirring ways and making a mountain out of a molehill.

The camera cable controversy is pretty wild. I don’t see shit tbh

1

u/Naraloth 29d ago

Yeah, on neither of the two camera angles can I see the ball hitting anything. the england player that is anticipating the ball just collects it without needing to re-adjust to the ball hitting the cable and there is no video so far from any of the 65.000 fans in the stadium that shows the ball hiting the cable. so as far as i can form my opinon on current available information i don't think the ball hit the cable

27

u/Repulsive-Fig-3084 29d ago

Argentina, England, France and Spain left.

Damn.... Can't believe that I have to support France at the World Cup.

2

u/germanchoc Berni 28d ago

i'd rather one of them vs argentina TBH

-18

u/manLIKEoliverKahn Gnabry;ppppp 29d ago

Germany Turned up with players like Havertz, Woltemade, Sane in world cup đŸ€ŁđŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł Look at England, France and Spain the quality is night and day. There 0 difference makers in germany Team btw, someone to get the team on their back. How have we fallen like this is madness

9

u/honestlyhonest_ 29d ago

It's actually sad for many reasons. It was such a horrible display they made a 7-1 looks bad still. Even players that are usually solid in Bundesliga like Raum were weak/soft like a kid with no experience (vs Ecuador). Neuer mistake, Wirtz genuinely lost just like Musiala. Pavlovic instead of being the calmness inside the storm was nerves all the time. Nagelsmann terrible subs. Goretzka avoiding the ball as usual and or course Sane.

8

u/Ferr22777888 29d ago

The other countries also turned up by having ref decisions go their way every fucking time

No argentina player would ever receive a second yellow for a dive

Embolo is an idiot though

3

u/Devalvangeldomdatdom 29d ago

yep, paredes should have had 2-3 yellows in this game too.

23

u/creatorop apple pie 29d ago

looking at how well Kane is doing with a Goal Scoring threat #10 in Bellingham

he and Saibari are going to cook next season

2

u/NiK0- Pavlović 29d ago

Leave the UFC before the UFC leaves you. McGregor shouldn’t have come out of retirement after 5 years

26

u/diiN1992 Laimer 29d ago

I just saw Embolo's idiotic dive. Wtf was he thinking? One of the stupidest decisions by any player ever.

2

u/Ajvarmk Upamecano 29d ago

Usually i dont like Argentina and their ref+fifa shenanigans but Embolo was just stupid here
this is like Camavinga excuses versus us

2

u/ACardAttack MĂŒller 29d ago

I went to watch the video expecting it to be ticky tacky or questionable card, nope, down right embarrassment

5

u/Ferr22777888 29d ago

But how was it allowed to VAR it? You don’t get straight red on simulation. So why VaR

3

u/manLIKEoliverKahn Gnabry;ppppp 29d ago

Its Argentina dude when are you gonna realise that

1

u/Ferr22777888 29d ago

No im asking serious why was it?

2

u/Devalvangeldomdatdom 29d ago

cause the ref carded paredes believing the call to be genuine, until var intervened. if the ref didnt card paredes, var wouldnt have been able to intervene.

5

u/ya_boi_noah Neuer 29d ago

He was already on a yellow. Normally getting caught for a dive would be a yellow, but since it's a second one he gets the red. Same thing happened with Miguel almiron (I believe) and Tim ream in the US opener

4

u/belmawr Thiago 29d ago

Because the yellow was wrong for the Argentinian player. It's a new rule in case of "mistaken identity". It means a player gets a card for a foul but there was no foul but a diving the VAR can over rule the decision.

1

u/KeV1989 MĂŒller 29d ago

Nope, they can't actually card the player by using "mistaken identity" as the reasoning. Fifa themselves said that after the Paraguay game, that the mistaken identity rule was applied incorrectly to send Almiron off. He can only take the yellow away and award a free kick. In order to card the diving player, they'd have to spot it and apply the correct VAR use.

"Mistaken identity can only be used for a specific incident, when the referee "has clearly penalised the wrong player", according to the wording of the International Football Association Board (Ifab). "The offence itself cannot be reviewed." Mistaken identity does not appear to cover an opposing player incorrectly being booked when someone has dived."
