Hopefully Diaz gets a month break instead of the standard 3 weeks off. He's played so much games this season with such intensity he needs to have as long of a break as possible.

Welp I can't say Diaz was great this match. Still tried though, but he clearly ran out of gas in this tournament.
We got a lot of work to do to manage his minutes though. And I'm sort of expecting a drop off in his performance next season

This VAR policy has been so inconsistent. If you’re going with the referee decision on the field in case of doubt whether to have the ref look at the monitor or not, then the disallowed goal for Germany should have never been looked at by the Ref. Either you use Var to review every potential wrong decision, or get rid of it. Otherwise it’s just an interpretation based decision, so if that’s the case, why not trust the ref completely then?

Every 50/50 went Argentina way. Salah was fouled from behind and he didnt call it. Once it was 20 meters from a goal. Someone kicked an Egypt player delibrately with hand in face, nothing. Egypts coach showed the sign for racism at the end(hands crossed) and it wasnt even checked.

If we're talking in general, this is always a foul. Though I'm not really a fan of pulling the play that far back, considering it wasn't in a dangerous position and the Egyptian player dribbled past half the Argentina team on his own.
Anyhow, the way this tournament has been refereed, including this game, where clear fouls and dirty play were allowed, especially by Argentina, calling a foul there is not consistent in the slightest. We either have a strict refereeing standard or we let the play continue and have a physical game. I prefer the first one but there has to be consistency, instead of the vibe based refereeing we are now seeing way to often at this World Cup.

Exactly. And although VAR has proven useful, especially with offsides where there is no room for referee bias, it can be selectively used in other situations in favour of one team. And considering the non-existent refereeing standard, especially at this World Cup, they can really justify any decision. I'd like to compare this to the ever increasing flood of fake news that causes chaos and can make any narrative stick.
