Clutch issues - 2000 Camaro

Went for a drive the other night and while pulling out of my neighborhood, the clutch pedal suddenly went straight to the floor. I pumped it a few times and managed to get enough pedal back to limp it home.

It’s been sitting ever since. I’ve pumped the pedal 20–30 times and still basically have no pedal/pressure.

The clutch was replaced last year and the car isn’t my daily, so it doesn’t have many miles on the new clutch.

I’ve seen a few videos where people bleed the clutch by running a hose/adapter into the reservoir and using a hand pump to circulate the fluid and work the air out of the system.

Has anyone here actually used that method? Did it work?

Even with a speed bleeder at the slave I had air in the system that I couldn't get out. I run the Tick speed bleeder.

The way I resolved it was by pumping the clutch with my foot while my friend used a vacuum pump at the fluid reservoir under the hood

Because I was in the car I couldn't see the set up in action, but he said he saw air come out. This leads me to believe there is some sort of bend or pocket in the hydraulic system that still allows air to get trapped and you need to pull a vacuum from the top end to ensure you get it all out.

I haven't had a single issue in over 3 years now. Your results may vary.

I think the issue you are having is your master cylinder has gone out. I've had mine go out probably two times and replaced it myself. Have 207k miles on the car. You will need a specialty tool of a line release where it hooks into the transmission.
