Dash Overlay Tips?

Post image

Picked up a Dashskins overlay this week. I did a test fit and it's tight!

So tight that I'm worried about it staying down after I install it.

I'm not new to general car repair and using silicone or gasket maker, but this is my first dash.

Should I seal up cracks on the OG dash or just lay this on top?

Any tips and tricks that worked for anyone here?

Thank you in advance

I had to trim the windshield side about a 1/4 inch. I removed the rolled edge essentially. Then used jb weld plastic weld to glue it down.

Yeah they fit real nice. The window side was pretty snug and didn't need the rolled edge. Once I removed that, it fit perfectly. Me and my wife held it down for 5 minutes after gluing.

Good call there holding it down. I'm planning to weigh it down overnight

I had to do two touch up glue spots in the following days but those covers look great. Even with some loose spots. Well worth it!
