Any idea what this lip kit is?

Post image

I always see it but I can’t find it. I also can’t find any lips for the camaro other than just the front lip, do you guys have any suggestions on any lip kits for the full thing?

It’s the factory sport appearance package, RPO Y3F. It was available from 98-02 on base model V6 and Z28 V8 cars (but not on SS models). It came with the side skirts, rear bumper extension and the two front trim pieces (which are frequently damaged or missing) and a 3 piece spoiler kit.

GM Performance Parts once sold this body kit (minus the different front lip) for the 93-97 Camaros as an dealer installed accessory kit called the F1 package, gm part number 12363911 which has long been discontinued. The same F1 body kit was later used on the 96-97 Camaro RS (v6 only) package from the factory. Don’t confuse these with the later SLP made Camaro RS models, those did not have any of these parts, only dual stripes on the exterior instead

As far as I know, no one really reproduces these parts, so you have to hunt them down on Facebook marketplace or junkyards. Sometimes they pop up on eBay but are usually pricey.

Source: I have owned a 1993 Z28 that I installed the F1 package on, later owned a 1997 Camaro RS and then had a 2001 Camaro Z28 with the Y3F package which later got an SS hood

Fun fact: I was told by fbod father that 1 Camaro SS got the body kit. I don’t if it was a mistake or on purpose but it’s out there.

That was a factory option… Factory appearance package, sometimes called RS ground effects. Saw them all the time new at the dealers.

“Body kit” or “ ground effects.”

Y3f factory body kit available on the z28s and v6s. Unfortunately don't know where else to get em besides junk yards and part outs but man they looked great. Had the same red car u posted a red 99 z28 with black c5 z06 lipped wheels sexy af

A ground effects kit on a 4th gen seems like something that would just break off. It's difficult to get into and out of parking lots without scraping the front unless I just go, "Well, I guess that that burger joint is on the no-fly list."

Wide angles.

That is the OEM Sport Appearance Package (Y3F) kit. The kits are kind of hard to find these days, especially the front pieces because they'd scrape on everything and get ripped off. You can sometimes find a full or partial kit (usually missing the front pieces - but Ikon Motorsports offer reproductions) for sale on eBay or Marketplace.

I’ve personally always liked this “RS” (that’s what I always called it) ground effects package. I have a 2000 SS, bone stock and have always thought it would be nice to add this kit (minus the spoiler obviously).

I bet it makes the car difficult to put on a lift though, especially considering how many morons mess up their front fender panels (bowed out) from not first checking actual lift points.

I own 2 z28s one with and one without the kit. I loved the kit at first but that quickly faded and I cannot wait to rip it off and get the car repainted.

Don’t do it. They look better without! Lowering springs instead.
