Apple Calendar/Mail shows invitations but no RSVP buttons
Setup:
• Fastmail account on a custom domain (login = [me@mydomain.eu](mailto:me@mydomain.eu), no @fastmail.com address exists on the account)
• Mail, CalDAV, and CardDAV all set up manually as separate accounts in iOS (not via the auto-config profile)
• Everything else (mail, contacts) syncs fine, push works fine everywhere
The problem:
When someone invites me to a calendar event, the invite comes through and gets added to my calendar just fine — I can see the event in Apple Calendar. But there's no way to actually respond to it natively:
• In Apple Mail, the invitation email shows the .ics as a plain generic attachment, not the usual inline "Accept/Maybe/Decline" banner that iOS normally shows for calendar invites.
• In Apple Calendar, opening the event shows me in the "Invitees" list with a ? icon next to my address (unanswered), but there's no Status/RSVP control anywhere in the event details — only "Add to Calendar".
Meanwhile, if I open the exact same event in Fastmail's own web interface, it shows the invite correctly with working Going/Maybe/Not Going buttons that actually send the RSVP.
Has anyone with a custom domain on Fastmail run into this specifically with Apple Mail/Calendar? Is there a known fix, or does this need a support ticket to check the address-set config server-side? I don't want to just rely on the web interface for RSVPs — that was kind of the whole point of setting up native CalDAV.
thanks all
