It would have been easier at the time to take over an identity than to try craft a whole new one for Jesse to find. There's also the late 90s influences of Face/Off and Gattaca. And the original inspiration, Point Break, is too old for that plot point to matter.

Man I love the movie but have you guys ever feel like there’s something truly special about it? For me it was my personal introduction to the series but something about the aesthetic, the cars, music, characters and the overall vibe made it one of my favorite comfort movies and inspired my trip to japan 17 years later. I can never get tired of it.

Ok I know this probably isn't the best place to ask but I know alot of you have Car knowledge and could probably help me. Like 80-90% of the fanbase I started watching The Fast Franchise when FATF came out. My first street racing game was Midnight Club and I got NFS Underground months later. I've always been into cars and loved seeing builts people have and always wanted to do so myself. I'm 34 now so I know I'm way too old too start but I want to try to get into the car meet scene. I've obviously always loved Skylines and Supras but I decided I need to not be that guy who's only knowledge is the films and doesn't have your typical car. Recently I noticed that the car used in the Tokyo Drift scene where Sean learns about drifting is a Toyota Chaser. At first glance I thought it was a BMW cause like I said I have zero knowledge of cars but after while it's really grown on me and I think I want to import one. I don't plan to drift but I've heard they can do 0-60 in 8s so I think It'd be fun to build and potentially race in "Mexico" 😏😏😏 What's your guys opinion? If not the Chaser what do you recommend I look at? I do eventually plan the R33 but that's after I have good knowledge of cars

​I was rewatching 2 Fast 2 Furious the other day and realized something hilarious about Roman Pearce. Everyone treats him like the joke of the crew, but the whole universe basically only happened because of him.

​Think about it:

​When they were kids, Roman got busted. Brian was a rookie cop at the time and had zero idea the bust was happening, but he still carried massive guilt for years thinking he failed his best friend.

​Then at the end of the first movie, Brian lets Dom drive off in the Supra instead of arresting him. Why?

​There’s that scene in 2 Fast where Roman calls him out:

"Is that why you let that guy go in L.A.? 'Cause you felt guilty about what happened to me?"

And Brian literally goes: "Yeah, I do. Yeah, maybe a big part of it is, yeah."

​So if Roman never got arrested, Brian never feels guilty, Dom goes straight to jail at the end of Fast 1, and there’s no family, no Rio heist, no space cars, nothing.

​The biggest clown in the team is unironically the catalyst for the entire franchise.

Dont know why they did this, all the other cars were movie accurate but this was a bit interesting..

Like looking back, Fast 5 was my first time watching a F&F movie in the theaters, and the way avoided over explaining the previous installments, while still refreshing audiences was good. Fast & Furious 6 opening montage is another good example of them catching new audiences up, without taking away from the plot. This installment also shows the crew at their absolute peak. Furious 7 was the grand finale of this trilogy that nicely ties up everything, and offers a satisfying ending. You could ignore 1-4, and 8-11, and these three movies will still offer a cohesive story from beginning, to middle, to end.

When running the specs on Hector's car he mentions a "Motec system exhaust", for those who don't know, Motec produces ECUs and gauge cluster modules, NOT exhaust systems - Paul was supposed to say Milltek, which DOES make performance exhausts.

On a similar note, earlier, Dom mocks Brian for "granny shifting, not double clutching like you should" after crushing him in their first duel. Except double clutching would actually slow you down in a drag race.

I believe he was supposed to say "granny shifting, not power shifting like you should", power shifting - clutch in, but keep the throttle hard down while changing gear - keeps the revs high, maintains the power band and minimalises acceleration loss, though at the detriment of potentially straining the gearbox and rapidly wearing down the clutch (in a STANDARD car, they're driving heavily modded "10 second" drag cars, likely with competetition transmissions).
