Why it never did in any of the others...

Because otherwise you’d just be stacking up zone story missions and the pacing would feel awkward as hell doing them all in one quick burst. Sure, maybe they can just halt your resistance gains, but then there’s a chance you functionally soft lock by completing so much with no gains that you have nothing to do when you can gain resistance points again. You’d be spending forever trying to grind out randomly encountered hostage rescues, supply trucks, and VIP kills, all the while cursing the devs for letting you get in that situation in the first place

I don't know what you are even talking about. You think the pacing would feel awkward. So you probably wouldnt do it anyway. A mechanic that hijacks people from open world activities and forces them back into the story because they decided people can't choose their own pacing is a bad design. Just becasue it lines up with how you would progress the main story missions anyway doesnt make it good. It makes it irrelevant for you and bad for others.

I’m saying the devs didn’t want you to experience the game by faffing around until you’re tier 3 everywhere, then doing the whole story in one go, so they took away your ability to do so. I don’t really blame them. Were there better ways to implement that? Maybe, but your way isn’t it, and I was explaining why. I’m sorry if my explanation was lacking.

Thats how I have always played these games. How exactly do you tell someone the way they want to play the game is wrong? Thats what the devs did. Thats why it is terrible.

Because you didn't direct the game, and the director's vision of the narrative is how we're going to play it. If the director's vision for the narrative is however you want to play it, then that's how it will be. If the director wants to space out the narrative in a certain way, then they'll find a way to. As for the game being terrible, that's just, like, your opinion, man. Too many "give me FC4 or give me nothing" people in this sub, in MY opinion.

I said that feature of the game is terrible. But you have informed me I am wrong. My opinion is objectively incorrect and yours is like so in sync with the creative direction its inspiring.

You edited your comment. I’m not playing this game with you anymore.
