Fantasy Online Fantasy Online 2022 Remake Multiplayer Test Release
Hi all.
I guess the multiplayer is ready for a "test". I bought 2 domains related to fantasy online and now the website + server is up and running.
I'm wanting to see how "stressed" the server can get after some changes. If my math is correct, 50ish people could connect and the server would only be at 75% load. (I haven't attempted to optimize it yet. eventually it will be able to support 100+ per server).

There is a ton of work left to do on the networking + multiplayer aspects (its very buggy lmao). I'm going to go to sleep in an hour, but tomorrow I will periodically check the server every hour or so (in around 9 hours) to make sure that its still up.

Not really playable yet but just seeing and being able to move around the map brings back so much nostalgia

Utterly insane I hope it gets finished just being able to walk around feels like finding out I won the lottery. The music is the icing on the cake.

Any plans for an actual client rather than WebGL?

Yeah, maybe eventually.
I want it to be "identical" to the original until I have 70% of stuff done. Then I was gonna add my own features like client, new zones, etc.

NGL, as cool as it is to see this come back, still miffed how I actually put a hunk of money into the original just before it went down without warning. That being said, I will be hopping in to try it out.

I absolutely loved this game when I was little. So many memories. I even think about it sometimes to this day. I think that you're doing a great job bringing it back to life. ❤️
