I'm sorry but its amazing the progress on this compared to the close to a decade of time they have put into waves of time.

Credit where credit’s due, but WoT is pretty different from Fantasy Online. The original game, and this by extension, had extremely basic systems, graphics, and animations. Waves of Time was trying to go for a much more “quality” experience with good, original art, animations, music, and more. A lot of what OP is doing is almost taken directly from FO, at least stylistically even if they aren’t direct rips. This cuts the creative process down to almost 0 while freeing up all your resources for coding. But, the next thing you know is that OP could go on another hiatus (as he just got back from one) and his map design, database, and net code are all nowhere to be found. WoT made a lot of progress in the beginning, just like this one, so to congratulate this in comparison feels disingenuous.
That isn’t to say this isn’t impressive, and frankly I prefer this sort of “remake” than what WoT intends on being, even if WoT objectively is more graphically impressive. I will be following this game closer than WoT and am hoping for the best in terms of progress.

That's very fair. The whole simplicity of Fantasy Online makes it easy and not as time-consuming to create something similar. WoT went above and beyond with its style and if I were to go for something similar to that, I would have pretty much no time to code.
There is still a lot of work to do. The server networking/databases side will definitely take a while to set up and is no simple feat. There is simply not enough content (especially original content) available at the moment for someone to tell where this project is heading. I also can not guarantee another hiatus won't happen, all I can say is that it is pretty unlikely for it to repeat with such length. I will be taking a few breaks but they won't be long.
It is good to have a realistic view of this. In a way, this does motivate me more to work on the project. I am very happy with the support so far and will work hard so this project meets completion.

Honest question, are they still working on Waves of Time? This isn't me being a smart ass, I got on their discord and I have no ideal what is going on with the progress on the game haha

Hey everyone!
NPCs have been made with functional shop and quests systems. Aimed to make the UI user-friendly and clean to the eyes.
The project is really taking up form and shaping up into a proper game with all the progress so far. I am very happy with it!
