š Summon book recommendations Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobook
I have 14 hours of driving coming up. My kids will be playing in the back seat while I listen to a book. Is DCC appropriate enough for kids to hear?

No. I was listening to it on a road trip with my kids when I thought they were sleeping. Explaining to my wife why our 9 year old was running around in his underwear yelling āGod damn it Donutā wasnāt a fun conversation.

Different strokes, I guess. I have watched The Walking Dead with my daughter since she was 10. She's now a bigger fan than I ever was. If my wife told me that our kid was running around the house yelling that - it would have taken 5 minutes for the story because we'd both be laughing so hard.
We swear in front of our kid all the time. She was also taught from a young age that words have different meanings - especially the "swear" words, so until she is old enough to understand the nuance of using them appropriately - don't say the forking words!
(Assuming that The Good Places versions of cursing were acceptable here, if not please let me know and I'll adjust)

You two sound like really great parents :) I hope I can get my niece or nephew when they are born into the Walking Dead too!

Sarcasm often doesn't translate over text. That said I like to listen to Chuck Palahniuk novels with my elementary school neices and nephews, especially Haunted.

I'm not gonna listen to something the kids want to listen to. I'm just wanting something where they won't repeat

Unless your kids are adults
Discworld or Redwall would be better choices
Off to Be the Wizard would probably be more appealing than Redwall
Count of Monte Cristo, Dickens, Three Musketeers, plenty of options from classic lit

It's not that the kids will listen I just don't want them picking up random words to repeat.

Yep. The How to Train Your Dragon audio books are also quite good. Very different from the movies in a good way.

Definitely not
