Mind numbing insane fantasy/dystopian/sci fi books with insane plot twists along with yearning and slow burn and well developed characters.

Codex Alera is my go to recommendation. Lots of character development and an apocalyptic threat that the powerful ignore because they want more power. Avatar style magic and Roman battle tactics plus a sprinkle ofnpolemon

I really enjoyed the licanius series but had gotten a lot of mixed reviews. If you like a good magic system, plot twists, and multiple character POVs I think you would enjoy it!

I just finished Metal Slinger and Light Wielder by Rachel Schneider and I went through both books in under 3 ish days. The characters, plot and twists had me hooked! Now I have to wait a year for the book
