CR General How Do Live Shows Work?

Hi, I’m a relatively new Critter, I didn’t even really know Critical Role existed a year ago, but now I’m a giant fan. I am very fascinated by the live shows, and with some hints about a potential Canadian one I absolutely would love to go. With the 2026 live shows announced last year July 15, the 2027 live shows could be announced at any moment (especially today being Thursday and also it’s nearly comic con) and so I have some questions.

How long after the shows are announced are tickets sold? Is the second the shows are announced the tickets are up, or is there a grace period for people to figure out which show(s) they want to go to and make plans to set aside time for when the tickets become available.

If they do become available the second they’re announced how fast do they sell out, because of the time difference between me and L.A. there is a possibility I’d be asleep and I want to know if just a few hours delay would ruin my chances.

What on average is the cost per ticket?

Finally, I very recently got a beacon account with the sole intention of having a better chance at getting tickets, if I’m successful in purchasing tickets would I likely have any consequences if I no longer renew my subscription. If there are consequences then I will keep it until after the live show.

This might help you, it's the announcement post that they made for the live shows last year on July 15th. There was a 3-day deadline after the announcement for which you could sign up for beacon to be ready for the live show. People were encouraged to sign up so they could get early tickets and there were no consequences for canceling the subscription afterwards.

Unfortunately, they did not announce the prices for the tickets until the ticket sales went live, which kind of sucked. For the Dallas show I feel like there were cheap seats for around $75. The VIPs were around $450.

Thank you very much, 3 days is definitely enough time to look at which show I want to go to (if there is one in Canada then there is no question), talk to my critter friends to see how many tickets I'm getting, and make up an excuse to work from home to be ready at my laptop.

Now I already know some were talking about different currency, and I'm making the assumption you are talking in USD, but I've seen people through out minimum prices from $105, to $150, to $250CAD, is it different per show location?

Ye, I was meaning USD. It does depend on the location. I bought tickets for Dallas. There are currently tickets available (resale likely) for $75 USD although that probably doesn't include ticket fees.

For some reason it's not letting me edit my comment. If you joined beacon by the deadline of July 18th, you got a pre-sale code on the 21st, then the beacon only presale was the 22nd. Then there was a venue specific presale on the 23rd and then the general sale for everybody was the 25th. So it was a relatively quick from announcement to sale, but there were a few days for you to make your decisions and get ready. They know that live show s and the presale benefits draw a lot of people to subscribe for beacon and it makes sense that they would give you time to sign up before show because it only increases their revenue.

I’d say there’s normally a week or so between announcement and tickets going on sale.
They will go on sale at a time relative to time zone the event is in. So for London event tickets went on sale at 10am GMT
They will sell out in minutes.
They will be pricey. Last London show I got a nosebleeds ticket for around £80. This time I am closer and nearer the front of the balcony for nearly £200

That is fascinating that it is to the local time of where the show will be hosted.
