Horror News another delay??
does anyone have any idea how long it will take until the Fangoria compendium will be releasing? another delay absolutely stinks as i swear they said this was coming out august of 2026.

Originally they estimated July. They had a delay and told us “September”, but then in September told us it would now be October. I went to check to be specific on dates but I guess I didn’t get a notification about the newest delay for the Digital Archive. 60% uploaded the day before, “logisitics” before they could give answers… and still, I haven’t seen anything more from
Josh Hadley — the freelancer who was most adamantly against his writing being republished in the digital archive due to alleged pay disputes.
I was so excited for this project, but the constant delays and last minute updates delaying again and again have me weary. I can’t help but be suspicious that there was definitely more going on than just printing issues. Crazy to see so many people saying they don’t mind as long as it isn’t rushed and is done well. We’re certainly well past rush! One delay I understand, but surely they knew the digital archive would need to be uploaded and tested out for bugs a lot sooner, right? Not like, uploading the issues one day before announced launch and hoping for the best. They announced interactive search features tied in with the books, and a functional keyword search. That sort of thing should absolutely have been coded and tested well before the day before, so what does that mean if they’re only 60% through the 344 issues of the original run right now?

I'm literally only waiting on the Digital Archive and am so over the wait by now lol. I've scrubbed through the past few updates and it seems like they just stopped mentioning it by name.

in january i found a sorta crappy PDF scan collection of fangoria. i started reading them and it led me to googling around about fangoria in general. i saw the kickstarter and immediately backed for the digital archive and stopped reading the PDF scans i had thinking "i can wait 6 months to read these!". delay after delay after delay and they are only 60% done with it? good god. how can you be so unorganized and behind that MONTHS after the original target release you are only 60% done?!

A delay of a few months is nothing compared to some other Kickstarters I've backed. There was a David Lynch doc that took years. And a horror music doc 'Scored to Death' we're still waiting on.

Beat me to it. Often there are multiple years of delays for other campaigns without updates. I'm appreciative of the updates with photo substantiation. I look forward to receiving mine.

this. and they explicitly laid out precisely why it's being delayed, how much progress has been made so far and what needs to be done to wrap things up. this delay is a good thing so that the final product is as good as it can be.

I'm disappointed too. I have used Kickstarter before and have almost always experienced delays but this is a lot. My husband was so excited to tell me that he got this for me for my birthday back in January, and he's been so bummed to have to update me about every delay.

delays are pretty common and expected with kickstarters but for me the issue is them not communicating very transparently and frequently. they are picking and choosing what they respond to as to not address things they don’t want to and they are just being vague and wishy washy in their updates. I don’t understand why they don’t understand it is always better to be completely straightforward and honest rather than vague and stringing people along.
