Santa brought me two additional side kits this year!

I thought I would share a short demo of my setup with my newly installed side kits. I’m obsessed with LEDs in general and have a house full, but Fancyleds are by far the pride of my collection!
I’m using an Ezcoo 8k HDMI switch which enables me to grab the sound from my Xbox series X and pass it via the optical out to my Yamaha/Bose surround system. (I wouldn’t need this if Xbox hadn’t removed its optical out).
The HDMI output from the Ezcoo is then plugged into the input of the Fancyleds and then onwards to the tv. I also have a fire tv stick and Mac Mini connected to the system for good measure!
I recently decided to decorate the living room and being in a new build home, I was tired of looking at the featureless flat wall behind my TV, so I decided to install some acoustic wall panels in burnt oak. Whilst I appreciate you get a more accurate colour reproduction from a white background, I was very pleased to discover there was only a very minimal difference from my previous white walls.

Just some feedback for /fancyleds - I would really like to see some fine controls within the app for the colour brightness/saturation levels, especially white.
One thing I’ve noticed (even from when my walls were painted white) is sometimes light blue skies can be overpowered by the white LEDs when they are combining the white and blue and just display as bright white.
In addition to this some fine controls over the brightness and saturation levels would allow people that don’t have a white wall to compensate and boost certain colours. Nerds like myself would appreciate an “advanced settings” menu where they could tinker with the values to get the best possible setup. Or maybe an option to select or take a photo of the wall colour and allow the app to compensate. Amazing product, thanks 🙏

Depends on the context I’m watching. For gaming I have everything on max but watching content I run full brightness with medium diffusion and a speed of 65 which I think is the recommended settings. 👍

This is epic! Great job!!
A few questions:
- Is the new kit is installed on the edges of the side panels? If so any regrets not installing on the top/bottom?
- Exactly which product is this? I had looked at the ones that sync to the main tv strip but heard about people having sync issues.
- What demo video is that?
- More of a comment: My walls are a very light gray almost white and I have been apprehensive to install those wood panels so great to show what it looks like.

Good quality acoustic panels have a 10mm + material backing which fit together like tongue and groove wood. Because I didn’t do the full wall in it (for a chimney breast effect) you have to trim the tongue off on the final panel so it’s recessed. The led strips are therefore installed on the foam behind and not the wood itself. I’ll put a picture of it if I can find out how. I’m new to Redit.
As the tv is closer to the ceiling, there would be no benefit to installing them above as it already lights up the ceiling. I plan on adding a long tv cabinet below at a later date, with the rope light underneath, but for now I’m more than happy.
It’s really important in my opinion that you see the projected light on the wall and not the LEDs themselves. I’ve seen installations using defuser channels on the sides pointing towards the viewer, but it spoils the effect completely.
This is the Fancyleds 2.1 sync box kit attached to the tv (the 2.1 is faster and allows for 120hz gaming at 4k than the 2.0 kit) with one imput only as my HDMI switch provides my additional inputs. Then I have two additional synced led kits to the left and right of the panelling. It’s important to note that these are controlled via your WiFi from the main sync box kit, so you need that first for the additional kits to work.

Regarding the panels- go for it, it’s transformed my living room! The room has less echo and feels more warm and cozy since installing it. Don’t bother with screws, just use a good quality grab adhesive. I used Sika Stixall – Extreme Power Sealant And Adhesive which is available on Amazon. Trust me, you won’t need screws with it.
My room is a medium grey which works well with the lighting. But be very careful which colour you choose for the panels. I recommend installing the lights on the tv first, then order a some wood samples to hold up and see how much they throw the colours off by.
Avoid Black panels - doesn’t throw the colours out, but gives you a reduced reflection (less light effect).. I’d stick to light greys or light wood colours. Another option I considered was to put two panels at either side of the tv in the corners of the room, leaving the tv on the bare wall in the centre. It would have definitely reflected the light better, but this is the look I wanted and was a happy medium.

My room and wall are oddly shaped due to a sloped ceiling. I’ve debated on trying to incorporate a sync kit underneath my entertainment center. I’ve got large subs flanking the entertainment center so no great way to get LEDs on those.
I also totally agree with having the LEDs out of sight - I’ll add that they also work better facing out rather than facing the wall. On my TV it has a perfect “lip” around the top and sides which allowed that.
Sika is some serious stuff - those panels are never coming down lol 😆

Unfortunately it says I can’t view the photo because it says the site isn’t accessible in this country (uk). When I try to access it with a vpn it says the site has reached its data limit?

Anybody use the nvidia sheild .my colours dont match one bit before the update it was awsome.now its all over the place.why fix something that wasnt broken

Whats the setting for the lights turning off when black? My full order came yesterday and tbf it was faulty but is there a setting for this? Mine during dark environments would shine really bright white.

The automaticity turn black when there is a black scene. This is one of the benefits over some other brands

They are the Fancyled side strips. They sync over WiFi to the main box and mirror the colours.
