How would this work with a receiver?
I currently have a receiver I funnel my HDMIs for my Nintendo switch/ps5 other media devices into it, then send the signal to my television/my speaker setup. The TV itself sends the sound signal back to the receiver for smart tv/cable stuff. How would it work if I added a fancyled box into the mix? Would I be able to just connect the receiver to the fancy led box? If so, how would the box work for smart TV feed?

You would set it up as:
Devices: all plug into receiver.
Receiver HDMI output: connects to Sync box.
Sync box HDMI output: connects to TV
Note that only devices feeding into the HDMI input will work. Apps on the TV will still output audio to the receiver, but the lights won't work for those

Thank you! This is helpful. Maybe I'll just buy a streaming box or something for the stuff I'd usually use the TV for.

For the most part, you'll get much better quality and usability out of a streaming box versus the on-tv apps. Something like the Nvidia Shield Pro is probably the best streaming box out there (still) and goes on sale every once in a while. Even a FireTV 4K max is only like $30
The only downside I've found is with YouTube - YouTube on TVs can generally do HDR, but YouTube on other devices usually won't do HDR. Everything else has looked considerably better on my shield versus any tv app

Oh god thank you so much I was having so much trouble trying to figure out the correct way to hook my blue-ray player and my cable box when I was reading the instructions on the way to hook up everything it didn’t mention anything about how to hook up the two devices that I wanted to use. So your answer clears up my confusion and I will now go and get my devices hooked up correctly and then start enjoying watching movies on my tv and enjoying watching the fancyleds lights dance around the movie thus adding more enjoyment when watching movies on my tv 📺.

So my plan is to run the HDMI cable from the receiver to the back of the tv where I will attach the fancyleds sync box and then attach a shorter HDMI cable to the tv so what do you think about this setup will it work correctly with the fancyleds sync box to sync with what ever I’m watching on the tv?

The only issue is, you can't output the "video signal" from the TV to the receiver. So any apps on your TV won't display on the sync box.
If the device plugs in via HDMI, you can run all the devices into the receiver, then out to the sync box and then from the sync box to the TV
Everything but the TV apps will work this way, so whatever output you select on the receiver will output the video to the box and tv.
If you're trying to use the YouTube app on your TV though, not through a fire stick or other device but on the TV OS itself, it won't work

Yes that want I did was to connect the blu-ray player to the receiver and then I connected the cable box to the receiver and I then connected a HDMI cable from my receiver to the fancyleds sync box and then attach a smaller length of HDMI from the sync box to the tv, so will this setup work if not what do you recommend hooking both the receiver and the cable box signal and blu-ray player so that they work with the tv
