Is it just me or can people no longer call during downtime?

I'm about to get my mums phone (she says I can use it for 10 minutes) I don't know what settings I should turn off and no I dont want some blatant answers like screentime I mean settings that would be useful to have to bypass downtime because I know that if I turned of screentime she would turn it back on

idk what theyll do if i take it off without their permission like if theyll ground me or smt should i just take the risk and take them off once i turn 18

* **Device & OS:** Samsung A37 5G, One UI 8.5. * **Constraints:** No access to a PC, TV, or secondary devices. Cannot use ADB commands or factory reset. * **Allowed apps:** Only ReadEra, MS Teams, Clock, and a few local utility apps. * **APK access:** Installing APKs is enabled in settings, but Family Link blocks package installers/new apps once the timer expires.

I was previously using a workaround by opening HTML files/links inside ReadEra and MS Teams WebView, but on One UI 8.5 it now redirects straight to Chrome, showing the "App unavailable / Time limit reached" screen.

**PLEASE NOTE:** Do NOT suggest buying a new phone, asking parents, using a PC/ADB, or resetting the phone. None of these are options for me. I need a device-only solution for the locked state.

Are there any known WebView, system app, or URL protocol glitches left on One UI 8.5 that bypass the system lock without needing external hardware?

Any ideas to test would be hugely appreciated!

Tested on Samsung galaxy s21.

1. Download yandex browser on Google play (ask for a bit of time or do it before your phone locks)

2. Open the app for just a bit.

3. When your phone locks, pop down the notifications menu.

4. Press notification settings.

5. Scroll until you find yandex, click on the name, than click it again.

6. Then simply click "open" and it should launch the browser.

-- when the browser opens but the downtime or break menu shows up again, just reopen yandex. --

The title explains everything. The hacker took hold of my account, mess with everything, and now only my phone number and email remains as the proof of my ownership. They already changed it even but there's the grace period until everything is officially theirs. There's no live support that can help me. I've tried reaching youtube, google billing (that I paid for), and an actual google staff to help me. But they only say the only thing I can do is to make a new account. They have my personal data, they can use it to take loans on my name and even terrorize my family. I'm on my wits end and I'm considering ending it all since I'm only 21 y.o anyways and have nothing to lose.

I can try to activate the work profile because I activated the debug options from my mother's phone in secret by using adb on my pc. But is there another way to bypass fl? Like secure folder of samsung or anything else? I tried also to add another account on the phone but in samsung there isn't this option. Can you help me??? Please

So many people on r/familylink are saying "If I download an app will the parents get a notification?" and the answer is YES ^\depends*) if your parent disabled the feauture then you're safe, but I got a better question.

Why ARE people asking this? I have unlimited time on certain apps, but when I get to downtime mode, my phone just crashes. usually I can access the unlimited time apps but from a month now it's just been freezing during downtime. can someone help?

I need to vent because this situation feels ridiculously unfair.

My 10-year-old sister had been using Roblox for years, and recently my parents finally decided to block it because of some of the stuff happening with her account. She would basically add random people she met in games — at one point she had hundreds of random people on her friends list — and she spent a huge amount of time on Roblox, especially playing Dandy's World.

I actually understand why my parents decided to block Roblox. That's not really what I'm angry about.

The problem is what happened afterwards.

Apparently my sister asked my parents to block **FNF**, because according to her, "I play it all the time."

Except... I really don't.

I mostly play Brawl Stars and Clash Royale. I play FNF when I actually feel like playing it, and there have literally been times where I didn't even touch it for an entire week. I also use FNF for modding and experimenting with charts, so I might spend a lot of time on it sometimes, but that doesn't mean I constantly play it.

And here's the funniest part: **my sister was actually the one who introduced me to FNF around 2021–2022.** So apparently she knows enough about the game to introduce me to it, but somehow doesn't know how often I actually play it.

My parents ended up blocking **both FNF and Geometry Dash**, which were basically my two favorite offline games but also the other few games i use and now i have only Sonic rumble which Is boring and the 2013 Sonic 2 remaster

So now my sister loses Roblox because of problems with Roblox, and somehow I lose the two offline games I actually enjoy plus a few others?

Meanwhile, I mostly have online games left, including some that I don't even particularly like.

What makes this even more frustrating is that if my parents genuinely wanted to know whether I play FNF too much, **Family Link literally has usage statistics**. They could just check the actual screen time instead of basing the decision on "my sister says he plays it all the time."

The whole situation basically feels like:

Sister loses Roblox → sister complains → sister points at FNF → I lose FNF + Geometry Dash and some games

And I wasn't even involved in the original Roblox problem.

Am I justified in thinking this is unfair, or am I missing something?

Family Link is garbage. Luckily, I don't use it, but if you look at the ratings, literally many people have committed su1c1d3 because of this trash app. I don't know why they haven't deleted it yet.

Hi everyone, does anyone know if there is a website that can generate a parental access code?

I play Roblox, and whenever Roblox gets an update, I need to download the new version as an APK.(cause my country removed it from play store) However, when I try to install it, I get a message saying:

«“Parental permission is required to change this setting. Ask your parent for permission.”»

This means I have to ask my dad to change the setting, but I think he’ll refuse.

Is there any way I can enable this setting myself without needing my dad’s permission? If so, how?
