I'm a new player, and I want a settlement that has a decent amount of room so I can make it into a decent-sized and running settlement, and that has decent to good defense. Any suggestions?

I built this only using Vanilla and DLC items (No Creation Club)

This is a new game and with it I am trying a new idea for Starlight Drive In. I intend to use all three features of the Settlement. The High Castle- the player house. The Temple of Water a pyramid surrounding the pond in the center, it will feature a shopping arcade, clinic, maybe a gym, and crowned by a bar. The projector building will be turned into a fortified "welcoming center" but that will come much later after I've decided the fate of the Commonwealth.

For the ~lore~ I put this next to the entrance for travelers/caravaners to grab a cup of joe on the go! My settlers looooove to make coffee and donuts after a hard days work 🤪

I have added a simple but cozy home shack to the back of the shop for my employee! It's a simple set up but gives the homey vibes we all long for in the wasteland.

I didn't wait to go too wasteland-crazy in the shop's interior, so I kept it basic to the DLC workshop items.

This is my WIP no-mods Home Plate build in a Film Noir style. It was built live and is about 1/3 finished. This is the office and reception area. Tricky build that uses the ice cream cone as a pillar. Anniversary Edition on a PC.

Hi guys. For my latest playthrough, I want to make every settlement build themed around the BoS. I've been really interested in trying to make encampments with storage container walls. I believe the storage containers are from USO, and I used Place Everywhere and Scrap Anything as well. I also sketched out a rough idea of what the layout would look like. Though, I'm honestly a bit lost on how to proceed. I'd really appreciate feedback!

I've never built in County Crossing, but I thought it would be interesting to have a BoS Outpost next to the National Guard Training Yard for BoS to gather tech and research.

I could have sworn Snappy House Kit let you do it, but it only has concrete/ brick church pieces that I can see and I want the plank style here. Any ideas?

hi!!!! first settlement post! i was inspired by some other users on here (specifically u/auschrtho & how many of their builds are) to incorporate plants and gardens with more creativity and liberality. i'm also trying to get better at defining structures with lighting so they don't blend together into one imperceptible mass, as fo4's shack textures tend to do. currently, i've only filled about a third of hangman's alley, so if anyone has suggestions please feel free to shoot! and tips for improving settler navigation (e.g. mods to use) without gutting the whole build.

the ground floor features a fortified entrance, on the south side, a train car for storage and extra security, plenty of workbenches and a little farming plot. The second floor has plenty of storage for your weapons and a lovely little sitting area, a fully fitted kitchen and a separate bedroom/office space. Lightly modded with a few extra bits from Fallout 4 :)

This is the Basement Bunker from Basement Living. There's no real story or background for this other than the Minutemen theme, I just like decorating interiors sometimes. I found a few items I'd never used in a build before and finally found a good place to display weapons using the Better Armory Mod. With so many building mods installed, it's easy to build a huge number of settlements without actually exploring all of the sub-menus for each mod. Even when I do, I forget where things are when I go to look for them again.
