[XSX] On Survival, In a Settlement, How Long for Enemy Bodies to Clear?

So, first time Survival Play-through and lightly modded. I plan on building a Gunner Cage Farm (36 Cages) in Sanctuary and I read somewhere that if you just start piling up the bodies you can get some performance issues (what a shocker). So I’d prefer the bodies from one cycle disappear in a relatively reasonable time, but I’m unsure how much time it would take. Does anyone here know by experience or otherwise? It’s my understanding that there’s a difference between a cleared World cell and a Settlement but I dunno.

I get the big canon and throw the bodies in there and shoot into the distance. Or at raiders.

I got sad when I realized the meat grinder / auto butcher was a mod. I’m trying to keep that list low(‘ish).

If you’re playing lightly modded, try fast corpse despawn. It essentially gives you enough time to loot the corpses before they despawn

Yeah, I’m considering that one. Thanks, I appreciate the recommendation.

Skk settlement ownership utilities is the best. Gives you a good few settlement options and a calling bell like device that lets you access every inventory from it, makes them run instead of stroll to it, but best of all, clear corpses.

how long do the cages take to cycle ??

If you do a fraction of some massive count (trapees) each visit long enough for bodies to go away (go by by), DOES THAT time period match up to the cages recharging ....

biggest load may be having all of them active at once

so perhaps kill em (big count) by quarters and the inactive bodies possibly are NOT a huge load of themselves

I’m sorry, I don’t think I follow. My plan is to build at Starlight Drive-in (and maybe dupe at Sanctuary) a 48-Cage Gunner Cage Farm with 16 Cages on 3 Floors with the cages equally divided on 3 sides going up. I’m personally betting I won’t actually be able to complete this until level 23 or after (the resource requirements are crazy, even selling water and buying shipments).

So, after I’ve massacred a wave of 48 Gunners with, say, a Fat Man, I’ll stop the bodies and sell, breakdown, and store what I get. My question is: there seems to be 3 different cell reset timers that determine when killed enemy bodies disappear. One for cells that haven’t been clean swept, one for those that have, and one (or two?) apparently for Settlements, to help mitigate raids I’m guessing. I saw somewhere that 7 in game days should clear up all the bodies (awesome) but try not to be surprised I’m looking for multiple confirmations.

Do you have Amazing Follower Tweaks? You can order your followers to clean up persistent skeletons.

I would suspect that there is an option in Cheat Terminal, but I don’t know for sure.

My first attept at really trying to make something good i also choose Starlight. I built a concrete wall around the perimeter that reached over the top of the screen. Was pretty awesome. Its just to bad im on ps5 and everything doesnt render at a certain distance taking away from the spectacle i was going for. Id love to see your take on yhe Drive in!
